  1. Yes it's just something to get used to Larry. It doesn't seem to cause any problems as such it's just my OCD wishing it wasn't there ?
  2. Not a deal, just in case you miss it in the other forum.
  3. More experienced Cubasers may have more to say on this but I had a quick look at the score editing in Cubase Pro last night and it didn't seem particularly complicated. I was able to do some basic editing without referring to the manual and it seemed pretty self explanatory (probably more so than CbB). There may be more complexity "under the hood" which is not evident from the quick play I had last night. Full Kontakt 5 is working fine here. I haven't installed 6 yet. My initial experiences of Cubase Pro 10 are pretty good and it seems very logically laid out. It took a while to get it to run at first as it got stuck on the VST3 scan 2 or 3 times. After that it started up fine. The VST2 scan also blacklisted TH-U and Analog Lab 4 which I need to investigate further. I always try to install only 64 bit VSTs but some insist on copying 32 bit ones as well so it may be some rogue 32 bit VSTs that are causing the problem. It automatically picked up my Steinberg Audio Interface and set up a few project templates for the interface which was nice. It also installed a low latency driver without asking me but still allowed me to use the normal Yamaha Steinberg ASIO one for my interface. I might try the other one out and see if it offers any improvements but somehow I doubt it. I concur with Matthew's account of the Window management. What is that menu bar doing at the top of the screen when the Hub is open and why is it left open when you close the program (you have to close it separately)? Then again Cubase Elements behaved the same way so I guess that should have warned me what to expect. I also had a transport bar left open after returning to the hub at one point. The main working window is nicely configurable though and I will probably work with the transport in the toolbar at the top most of the time. "Rewind" was another missing function that had me perplexed until I found that the transport and most other tools can be stretched to reveal other functions e.g. rewind, fast forward, goto start, goto end etc. I am working my way through a few tutorials at the moment but will plan to do my next project using Cubase. I did lose a couple of hours last night when I started playing with Retrologue 2 and Padshop Pro which are both excellent and I can see me using a lot.
  4. I finally decided to take the plunge and went for Cubase 10 Pro crossgrade direct from Steinberg while it's at this crazy low price. Also picked up the Padshop Pro upgrade. I used Sonar Platinum screenshot for crossgrade verification (could also have used Studio One Pro) and it was almost instantaneous with the email arriving a couple of minutes after submitting the screenshot on the Steinberg website. If you are in the UK a few music stores seem to be OOS of the USB e-licenser including my local one Gear4Music probably due to the Steinberg sale. Andertons had 2 in stock yesterday so I ordered one and it arrived this morning. Just downloading the software now. I moved a few USB devices around to give me a spare slot for the USB e-licenser and also noted that it allows you to transfer all soft e-licenser keys to the USB key.
  5. Thanks TS. Strange that they would include MMultiAnalyser this time around when it is cheaper at VSTBuzz. https://vstbuzz.com/deals/70-off-mmultianalyzer-by-meldaproduction/
  6. $16.91 at checkout at JRR with code forum. https://www.jrrshop.com/kilohearts-khs-one
  7. Same experience here. Smooth upgrade and Melodyne works better than ever. Thanks Bandlab!
  8. No probs Fleer. Must be PhasePlant then? Not yet out but looks promising... https://kilohearts.com/products/phase_plant
  9. Is this the one that you are missing Fleer? I tried the demo based on your previous comment and for $19 this definitely no brainer territory. Fat and analogue sounding, a great UI if you want to dial a sound in and masses of presets if you don't.
  10. Just tried it on a recorded live song wav file that is 4m 40 seconds long. It took a while but worked OK and produced a correct looking tempo map.

  12. Very nice update! Thanks for the heads-up Larry. Thanks Bandlab - seems super stable on a few projects I have tried so far. As a side note I have also finally updated to the latest Melodyne (4.2.1) which seems to work fine.

I downloaded the demo (8.2 Gb) which has the limitation of producing white noise every 30 seconds or so. The standalone version strangely only offers Windows Audio or Directsound with no ASIO option. I chose Windows Audio which seemed low latency and I didn't notice any glitches. The VSTi worked fine though in CbB with ASIO and I had no crashes. I skimmed through a number of patches before getting fed up with the white noise. I would say that a lot of the patches are aimed at dance music but I did also find quite a few non-dance patches. Liked the piano, choir and FX drone patches. It's probably worth the money but I will pass as I already have enough synths to cover these sounds. If you are in two minds try the demo.

I was wondering the same thing. Seems like excellent value given the following specs although it is being marketed for Dance Music... Over 870 Presets & 900 ROMs Over 1100 Waveforms Over 1700 MIDI Loops 10.5 GB ROM Library PluginBoutique have a trial version so I might give it a go... https://www.pluginboutique.com/products/5285 KVR thread here --> https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=504689
  15. Cheers Zo. I think I better start a monthly savings account for new plugins. I will certainly look forward to your in depth video review. ?
  16. Thanks for the clarification Matthew.
  17. I guess it is similar. I don't have Gullfoss but have used Vitamin quite a bit only on the master bus whereas when I demoed SPL Vitalizer I used it on individual tracks. I really liked what it did to bass and kick drum tracks. I'm sure it can also be used on the master bus though. I just figured at that price it was a useful tool to have in addition to Vitamin.
  18. Hey Cookie, Just wondering are you able to run Padshop and Retrologue 2 with only the soft e-licenser? I was thinking that my upgrade cost from Cubase Elements to Artist (which I don't plan to use) is cheap enough to make it worthwhile even if I only intend to use Padshop (plus the upgrade to Padshop Pro) and Retrologue 2. I wouldn't need a USB e-licenser would I as I don't intend to use Artist? Also, wondering if I would still be able to run Elements or does the upgrade to Artist license replace the Elements one rather than being in addition to it?
  19. Thanks for the heads-up Mibby. I don't have any of these so will definitely give the free bundle a try.
  20. Tried and liked. No brainer. Cheers Larry
  21. Does anyone know what happens if you have some Steinberg software that uses the soft e-licenser and then buy Cubase Pro and an e-licenser USB dongle? Do you have to transfer all soft e-licenses to the USB dongle or do the two things happily co-exist? The USB e-licenser dongle is the one thing putting me off going to Pro as my USB ports are all used up so I would have to add another USB hub.
