Cakewalk - the only DAW with playback delay issue?
hockeyjx replied to Antre's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Is there some reason to stay on Win 8? I'd run and not walk from it! That said, hopefully you fix your issue. -
Always quality tunes @batsbrew ! Bass sounds a little low to me, and this one seems to need to be beefed up with a layer or two more IMO ...if you want the minimalist feel, then I retract my statement

Agreed.

As an IT guy, I HATE/DESPISE upgrades. But I wouldn't mind starting a new box with an OS ...just that 11 does not do a thing for me operationally. The look of it reminds me of a bad Mac OS. But 2024 sounds like the year! Shoot, we still see threads on this forum for Sonar 8.5 on Windows 7 because it still works for them. Amazing really.

@EpluribusUnum Glad you are STILL getting use out of those. That was a great unit for me for 10+ years! I wish they had made a newer version, I think there was a market for it.

BFD3 Project Template (with custom key map/drum map)
hockeyjx replied to jackson white's topic in Drum Maps
I'm trying to process this. This is way beyond this guitar player's understanding! But I appreciate you doing this! -
Addictive Drums 2 setup question - How do I....
hockeyjx replied to hockeyjx's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I was working on this yesterday and made progress, but still am curious to some things. I added the instrument per @tecknot , and that worked fine. I was able to get the midi how I wanted it. My problem is isolating the single pieces in a track. AD2, and maybe I have an old drum map or something, but it seems just to give me Overhead L or R as the only working option in the slew of tracks. I tried ALL the inputs for the tracks created, and cannot isolate any drum or hi-hat/etc - which is the same issue I have with BFD3 as well. Also, how would I convert to audio permanently? -
Addictive Drums 2 setup question - How do I....
hockeyjx replied to hockeyjx's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
That's why I am a guitar player I want to create the drum patterns through MIDI on AD2 or BFD3, so I want the midi grid to do that. Then once that is done, I want to separate those drums in to their own individual audio tracks and process how I want. Messing around on my own, I feel like I am close, just not every step yet. -
Here is what I want to do: I want to separate all tracks of AD2 in to their own audio track, which I do know how to change the inputs(but no audio). I want to see the MIDI, and then convert each source to audio and have it in the track (keeping the mid in a midi track). I see in the Happy Go Lucky song template, there is all the midi data in one track, then it is separated out to audio - also, want to keep it in a DRUMS track folder. What is the most efficient way? Pic 1 looks like the master MIDI, Pic 2 is audio of Kick/Snare/etc Thanks in advance!

@Chandler: You are developing guitar software? Do tell!

I enjoy the way this tune built up. The beginning was not indicative of the song as a whole stylistically, and I dig that.
-
Good hook! Love the vocals. They strike me as if Tori Amos was European with a splash of Shirley Manson!

Still relevant enough... https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/pc-optimization-guide-for-windows-10/#Power-and-disk-optimization If you do these things, you shall be in a good shape.

Harmonies are king for me, and you do a great job on those. For me(and I always get vilified for it), I'd bring the vocals down slightly so you get a little more of the music. Also, I like vocals a little more wet - but I don't have your voice, so..... ? But that is nitpicking, and this is another solid song!

Having a hard time accessing this even with my Reverbnation account. Anyone else having an issue?
-
I read that, but when I went by the ear-test, I thought the 80Ohm were the best for what I want to do. Using them at home for a bit, I am happy with my decision. At worst, I can get another pair.
-
CORRECT (except for the OHM)!
-
I must have switched replies off. I am a terrible person ? I purchased the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 80 Ohm, it was the best balance of sound and comfort to me.
-
Only thing that stood out to me was that the guitar squeaks were a bit too prevalent IMO. Otherwise, I thought it was awesome.
-
Great job, I'd personally bring the vocals down a little - it seems too above everything else IMO. But great job! Lastly, Cliff Richard(one of my favorites) and Gerry Rafferty seem to be somewhat anonymous, but have some great songs to their names!

You can download the newest versions of Guitar Rig, free I believe (stripped down version, like in that old version you are looking for). Same with Amplitube.

Why be worried? Worst thing that happens is you have a good free DAW that no longer is developed. Bug fixes are always helpful, but a lot of us here just like getting excited for no reason for new features we're not even going to use ? Remain calm and all shall be righteous.
