@Jonathan Sasor Sorry this is unrelated to the topic, however, for what is the subdomain taylor.cakewalk.com I see occasionally these days? Just curious, but I'm curious...

@Peter - IK Multimedia Just a thought with my strategist hat on, but if management's concern is about excessive re-downloads, how about they restrict re-downloads to x many times per period, such as a maximum of 2 re-downloads per 190 days or pay a fee? It might be a way to find some middle ground with management that thinks the current approach is a good idea. It would also give them a win with customers, as IK could announce the policy change as a result of listening to their customers and being customer-centric.
Good idea.
At the very least, it would be nice if the 180 day countdown did not start for libraries that have never been downloaded.Unfortunately, I was unaware of this policy and have a library that has gone 180 days without being downloaded once. When I found out about this system, I screamed "D**n it! F**k you, as**ole"

Given that, if it's true, you might see why I came to the conclusion that CbB was closer to Professional than Platinum in features.
Platinum and Professional are not the same when compared based on the core program alone, excluding plug-ins and add-ons.
There's only one difference that I remember but at least Professional didn't have a "Plug-in load balancing" option, it was for Platinum only.
From that perspective, CbB is based on Platinum's core program.P.S. It seems the dithering options for Pow-r 1, 2, and 3 were also only available in Platinum.

Japanese iZotope dealer are negotiating with headquarters for an MPS 6 upgrade pass, available only to those who purchased MPS 5.2 in Japan between March 2 and July 31, 2023.
If this is to happen, it should be done worldwide!-

Am I a loser for not jumping on this deal before the word "August" was added?

I purchased MPS 5.2 in July of this year (I have a receipt marked MPS 5.2) but it's showed as MPS 5.1 in the Product Portal and I can see only the higher offer price $229 on the iZotope site.
I asked iZotope Support and they insist that there is no MPS 5.2, only MPS 5.1 plus extra.
What the heck is going on...Just purchase the upgrade to MPS 6 on JRRshop for $41.16 (with code GROUP)! You will get a MPS 6 serial that you can enter in the Product Portal of iZotope!
QuoteMusic Production Suite 6 Upgrade from MPS 5 August
This specially priced Music Production Suite Upgrade is only for customers who purchased MPS 5 in August, 2023. Please do not order if you purchased MPS 5 at an earlier time.
I purchased MPS 5.2 in July, so does not appear to be eligible for this special price... ?

Dear admins and moderators.
I am concerned that my reporting of one large amount of spam after another will turn a large amount of reports into the spam for admins and moderators.
If I find a large amount of spam, do I have to report it all? Or is it sufficient to report only a few of them? -

16.07 downloads ok. 16.08 does not.
I get an HTTP 416 error at around 603meg in to the download with 16.08
16.07 completes correctly.
Same here...

The MSI that HIBI mentioned does seem to slow the fans at lower temperatures.
FYI, the MSI link I provided says "The fans completely stop when temperatures are relatively low.".
Anyway, it's your choice. ? -
16.08 installer download fails with network error at the end. Anyone else?

I'm not a fan of many MSI video cards... as the fans aren't semi-passive.
Yes, you can control the speed... but that's not the same as dead-silent (not running).
If the fans/cooling don't support shutting fully off, you won't be able to do that with Afterburner.
As far as I know, the MSI RTX 3060 VENTUS 2X 12G OC has a function called "ZERO FROZR" that automatically stops the fans completely at relatively low temperatures.

I'm saying you want to avoid AMD's latest video cards... especially if you're pushing the limits of ultra low latency audio performance.
Sorry, it's my bad. I missed the "vs." so I was mistaken.
Thanks for your input! -

If you're pushing the limits of ultra low latency audio, a machine will glitch sooner with an AMD RX6xxx/7xxx vs. Nvidia RTX-3xxx/4xxx.
I am planning to add an RTX 3060 12GB to my next new DAW PC, does that mean I should avoid it?
Or it doesn't matter if I don't care about ultra-low latency? -
Amp locker has been updated.
It appears that the changed serials must be re-entered. -
I believe there are two CTRL keys in the keyboard, what happens if you try another CTRL key + S ?
If it works normally with one of them, it's physically broken. -

after I deselect realtek, Presonus is greyed out / not selectable.
Ok, that's weird... I would like to ask just to be sure,
did you deselect both "Realtek ASIO HD Audio input 1" and "Realtek ASIO HD Audio output 1" to select the Presonus? -
I'm not sure what's really going on because there's no response to key point comments, but it seems to me that you are just misunderstanding the procedure for deselecting and selecting input & output devices in the Devices settings.
My apologies if my thought is wrong... But I suspect it is so because you wrote "When I deselect Realtek, as soon as I hit the Apply button they are selected again".Be sure to check out Jonathan Sasor's comment below, which is also promising.

The Devices tab in the Preferences is showing you which devices are available to Windows, so as long as you've deselected everything under inputs and outputs, you should be able to select a different driver.

Yes, the Presonus drivers are greyed out and CW won't let me select them.
Is this grayed out state after deselecting realtek drivers (and not yet hit the Apply) ?
22 minutes ago, fret walker said:When I deselect Realtek, as soon as I hit the Apply button they are selected again.
Why did you immediately hit the Apply button after deselecting Realtek drivers?
After deselecting Realtek drivers, without hitting the Apply, and can't select the Presonus? -

But there is no change in Audio | Devices, Presonus is still greyed out and cannot be selected.
Have you deselected Realtek drivers in the devices settings?
Is the Presonus still grayed out when Realtek is deselected in both the current input and output drivers settings? -

I'm dragging and dropping it into clips pane.
Did you drag and drop it to the clips pane of the inserted synth track (SI-Bass Guitar 1) ?
If so, it's a wrong procedure. For MIDI FX to work, they must be inserted on MIDI tracks, not synth tracks.-

If you try dragging a MIDI FX onto a synth rack track, it gets blocked ("no entry" cursor).
Yes, you cannot drag and drop MIDI FX onto the track pane (track header) that contains FX bin (you will see "no entry" cursor), however, you can drag and drop it into the clips pane.
In this case, you can see the error message the OP uploaded when clicking that inserted MIDI FX. -
Are you dragging MIDI FX (such as Velocity) onto the inserted synth track (SI-Bass Guitar 1) ?
MIDI FX must be inserted into the FX Rack of MIDI track. -

I could be wrong but I don't see any mention of ASIO and searching the internet only leads you to download and install the PreSonus Unaversal Control which it is not documented anywhere as having an ASIO driver.
I referred to the AudioBoxUSB96 manual and found a mention of ASIO driver.
QuoteThe Universal Control installer for Windows is available for download from your My PreSonus user account. This installation includes the ASIO and WDM drivers for the AudioBox USB96.
It also described how to set it up in Cakewalk SONAR.
Quote1. Launch Sonar.
2. Go to Options | Audio... and click on the Advanced tab.
3. Change the Driver Mode to “ASIO.” (Note: Using WDM, rather than ASIO, for pro audio applications is not recommended.)
4. Click the “OK” button.
5. Restart Sonar.
6. Go to Options | Audio... and click on the Drivers tab.
7. Highlight all input and output drivers beginning with “PreSonus AudioBox USB96.”
8. Go to Options | Audio... and click on the General tab.
9. Set the Playback Timing Master to “PreSonus AudioBox USB96... DAW Out 1.”
10. Set the Recording Timing Master to “PreSonus AudioBox USB96... Mic/Inst 1.”-

How do I add FX animations to a Bus?
in Cakewalk by BandLab
Posted · Edited by HIBI
If you don't know how to make the buses appear in the track view, hit Shift + B (Show/hide Bus pane) or click the up arrow at right-bottom in the track view header. And you can also drag the bus pane out by dragging horizontal line at the bottom of the track header up.
