Nigel, another really fine song, I loved the sound of the guitar in the solo. Hooks aplenty in this one, gonna be stuck in my head for a while.

Another update I've put together another mix that address the feedback, and I've also re-recorded a several parts that annoyed me. Thanks for the critiques! Update Life has thrown curveball after curveball at my family this last year, and my ability to spend time playing and writing has been pretty limited. I wanted to put this one to bed as is but the first mix isn't the original version. This mix adds back some lyrics and parts that I had chopped out of the first mix in an attempt to keep it short and sweet. I've also updated the lyrics below. I'm not sure it's a better version, but it's a different one, and more to the point, it's closer to the original one. Love to hear your crits, nits and gripes with this, thanks! Here's a new song I've finally gotten close to wrapping up. We've all had songs that just fall together in a just a few days from conception to finish. Well, this ain't one of those. I know there are a few rough edges in there but this song kind of lends itself to having a few. Let me know what you think. Lyrics: stressful situation kwalsh - 4/25/2025 verse 1 you hear the echo of an empty room you feel the car as it bounces over your tomb gonna party like i'll never grow old spend the night in jail you never know I wanna be like those guys on tv dark holes where my crying eyes should be shut my eyes to the pain and the fear enamel skin and an ironclad belief chorus i guess im in a stressful situation i guess ill find out what im made of whats inside of me circumstances ran me down today gotta get my ***** away oh yeah its too much this stressful situation its all ive ever known verse 2 you think its okay but you know its a crutch you find the static of the world is just too much like a wire sparkin over your skin you think its stopped but it starts all over again the band is playing its favorite tune god knows you did everything you could to I wanna be like those guys on tv dark holes where my crying eyes should be chorus i guess im in a stressful situation i guess ill find out what im made of whats inside of me circumstances ran me down today gotta get my ***** away oh yeah its too much this stressful situation its all ive ever known

Come on, friend, don't be shy. I know there's something on your mind so just spit it out. Seriously, though, my system is always connected to the internet, is used for software development, and is always having products installed and removed from it. I also have my machine setup to receive preview releases of Windows 11 updates and features so I'm a pretty good candidate for instability. In spite of all that, sonar runs well on my machine. It does crash from time to time if I've installed a product that delivers an out-of-date MSVCRT library, in which case a simple reinstall of sonar will fix you up. If that won't fix your install, you could try reinstalling your ASIO drivers for your audio interface, and then if that doesn't help, check your machine for malware. Failing those things, you might consider trying to narrow down the problem areas you are experiencing and posting them here. In a lot of cases, many crashes are caused by ill behaved plugins, so if you have a list of the ones that you use, that may help. There's a great many people who participate in this forum who are happy to help you. If all you want to do is rant and swear at people, you probably won't get anywhere and you may as well just go buy another product. Best of luck!

It's great to see that you guys are embracing ARM platforms! I was going to pick up a Surface laptop but had to buy a Mac Book Pro M4 for work, which I loathe. I'll pick one up when Snapdragon shows up in desktops.

I'm happy with this release, really like the look of the theme, but you know, it may not have changed all that much because I liked it before too. Sonar is certainly the best-looking DAW on the market imho. I needed to reinstall anyway because I think my C runtime dll's got overwritten by another install and I was having a lot of crashes.

It's a pretty great song! I haven't had a chance to watch the video yet, but I really enjoyed the music. Very creative work, I especially enjoyed the choices you made with the drums, using what was essentially a repetitive pattern that seemed to somehow change as the melody evolved. I enjoyed it!

Hey, Bjorn, that was really excellent. The dissonance of the melody with the shifting around of the key was very cool, and the voices added a wonderfully creepy vibe. Enjoyed it!

While I Sleep - Music videos with AI is kind of fun.

What a great song! Loved everything about it, it's absolutely perfect. Awesome video too, but the song outshines it. -
Poles Apart - Latest track which was completed yesterday.

I replied to this yesterday but I guess I forgot to hit save. Doh! Just wanted to chime in to say how much I enjoyed this track, great work! -
Really nice, love the chord progression. Drums are great. The atmospheric guitars are very nicely done. I use modo bass a lot while I'm writing a song, I just hate having to re-record bass lines when I get an idea when I can just scooch some midi notes around a grid and modo is great for that. Good work!

I have to say, that new mix sounds much more polished and spacious to my ear. The strings in particular are really sweet. It's a lovely composition, very nice work!

There's a whole lot of stuff going on in this guy, iI found it hard to keep track of. It took a few listens to get my arms around it. I love the vocal bit, is that from a synth library? The sounds are great, and I really enjoy the little Abbey Road easter egg reference in there! This is a pretty entertaining piece, and it sounds like it was one heck of a lot of work. Well done!

You're so awesome to have around Steve thanks lol. It makes something that I would do no matter what a lot more fun. I didn't start playing guitar or song writing or until I was over 50 years old, now I'm almost 70. I didn't even know if I could sing until my voice actually started getting too old to do it, so it's great to hear that I'm making progress. ð Anyway, thanks again and keep rocking till you drop!

Thanks for listening, Larry! I really appreciate it.

Thanks, Paul! Yep, they are clearer, good ear! My voice comes and goes these days. The choruses and harmonies were recorded on a good voice day and the verses were done on a poor voice day. ð If a a good day rolls around again I may go back and re-record the verses, but since it's just all for the fun of it, I probably won't. ðĪŠ Thanks for listening and thanks for your feedback!

Thanks for listening and for the feedback, I'm glad you liked it!

Hey, thanks for giving a listen, Nigel!
-
Thank you, treesha! I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment! I was asked to post lyrics once, I think because I sing like I have mashed potatoes in my mouth. ðķ

An exceptionally good cover! The instruments were beautifully done and the arrangement was amazing. Your vocal tone is so similar to McCartney that I had to stop and check to see if I hit a wrong link. The mix is lush and pristine. Fantastic job on one of my favorite Beatles songs!
-
I thought the first mix was perfect, but this one is perfecter. ð Your acoustic guitar sounds amazing.
-
Thanks for giving it another spin! I've come to believe that if I just do whatever @garybrun tells me to do things will be much better! ð

Great riffs, hot solos, a mad bass line, cool lyrics, a bouncy melody with words of doom and hope intertwined, and a complete book on how every single religion thinks the world will end. Did I miss anything? This was great, Steve, especially liked the guitar solo and the vocal melody.

Great song, Mark, that see-gar box doohicky sounds amazing! Loved the song and I agree with the comment above on the Stills vibe. You nailed the swamp thang for sure. Excellent mix and master to my poor ears.

Thanks for listening and letting me know what you think, Steve!
