How does ST do new versions? Am I going to have to pony up for a v6? I'm hoping they are like Melda with free updates for life...
-
You're right Lars, per usual...

First and foremost, "thank you" for the freebie IK! Seriously very nice of you... Now, this just exacerbates my frustrations with the IK universe. I now know that I need to run the Custom Shop to pick up the freebie, then it shows up in Amplitude so I can use it in my DAW. Great. -- (warning - rant ahead) -- However.... I am sick to death of scrolling through Presets and gear that I don't own just to get to the few that I do own so I can try and figure out how to use them only to be nagged by notices that tell me I don't own the items to make the preset work. So don''t show me the Preset! It's the same thing with the IK Plugins too. I know Peter has said "this is to make it easier for the user to demo products". I still haven't gone back after the last update to figure out which TR4 and TR5 plugins I DON'T own (again) so I can hide them in my DAW (again). It bugs the *** out of me to have to do that. To Peter - I would argue that this sales tactic annoys the user enough that they don't want to use/buy more IK products. (At least for me.) This is why I haven't even been tempted by the Max sale... The way IK is set up is a mess. OK. Since I'm so irritated and shameless at the moment, it's dumb question time. I bought the "JP Jazz CFH" cabinet in the Custom Shop last year (BTW, why there is a Custom Shop AND an online store??) and for the 3rd or 4th time now have tried to scroll through all of the options/presets in Amplitude to find it until I get so irritated I rage quit and move on to look for a different amp sim. So please, someone, for the love of all that is holy, tell where this "JP Jazz CFH" cabinet resides. I have an irrational affection for the thing since it was the first real amp I bought when I was starting out and I sold it to pay rent when I was young and I sorely miss it. At least I think I do. (I've got more beer in the fridge, this could get ugly-er...) ? ? PS. Frustrated but NOT a "hater" - the Black76 is virtually on every one of my bass tracks. Love that plugin!

Hmmm... I think it was $140 sumthin' at some point last year? But that may have been my upgrade price at the time. (?) Stock up on the little ones and sales. They discount generously for the bundle based on the plugins you own, plus Black Friday or other sales the upgrade option gets even cheaper... Still, the $99 for the rack is hard to beat, and I'm sure it'll count towards a bundle discount too...

I subbed but haven't installed it yet. I'm looking at it as a way to trial a bunch (or few) that I haven't tried yet to see what I may want to put on the list for the next sale...

Word. But in this case, it is a 3-month trial of ALL of the Melda programs!
-
I just saw this at AudioDeluxe. Great plugin for your close drum mics! https://www.audiodeluxe.com/products/meldaproduction-mautoalign PS. Grab the FREE 3 month subscription at Melda if you haven't already - last day! https://www.meldaproduction.com/about/free-subscription

And the Preset Names. I think they are randomly generated or something equally useless which makes them meaningless as to what they actually do. Yes, Chandler rocks. I think he alone is responsible for doubling the Melda sales. Did you happen to see the NEW guy doing the MCabinet video?? (Of course Chandler has a bunch of good ones, but...)

I'm in the same boat. I'm curious about the FreeFormEQ though, but I haven't really read up or watched any tutorials. It's hard to imagine needing much of anything more than MAutoDynamicEQ!
-
That actually makes it MORE of a no-brainer deal then. It's 49 Euros on the Melda site, so you'd actually make 10 Euros when you trade up!
-
I think I missed something. (?) Regardless, good to know about the 3rd party thing, because that was partly my interest. But this is pretty much no-brainer territory, although I'm in pretty much "no-money" territory these days...
-
bump. VST Buzz is rolling out the deals right now!
-
Anyone use The Chainer? 1. First off, it looks like it is included with a VIP purchase? 2. Reading over the description, it looks like it is basically a container for ANY VST plugin?? Not just P&M plugins?
-
Just a "tip o' the cap" really sir!

I kept bumping into this issue with my old craptop DAW with various companies. In fact, the dev working on Evintide's New Fangled Audio Equivocate put an "OpenGL" option on there after I reported my problems. I am forever an Eventide fan because of that. He was totally awesome. But I never had that problem with any of Melda's plugins that I've used...
-
(I'm afraid to post after Lars...) Ummmm... Also at AudioDeluxe and you get $3.92 in DeluxeBucks. (?) ? https://www.audiodeluxe.com/products/audio-plug-ins/plug-mix-vip-bundle

Eventide gets the "Clever Name Award" for this one. Not quite as good as Phase Plant, but still good.

If their Subspace FREEBIE is any indication of the quality, I'd bet this thing sounds pretty amazing... https://www.zynaptiq.com/subspace/

This is the contest song for next month... https://soundcloud.com/hakonaudio/its-not-you

Bump. I wanted to bump this thread in case anyone missed it. After a couple of months in, this site has been super active and a lot of fun. (It reminds me of this forum, for the most part, only it's "mix-centric".) From the latest newsletter: I have no affiliation with this site other than being an enthusiastic member. The songs have been really good. This was last month's "Mix Audition". (This is not intended to self-promote in any way, they're just cool songs. ) https://soundcloud.com/mbd414/blink-of-an-eye-by-mike-mathis-miked-mix And this month's - still a work in progress: https://soundcloud.com/mbd414/permanent-2-5-hour-v2/s-LBGJ8rzl8mm Without a doubt the best mixing forum I have ever taken part in... PS. Next month is a competition sponsored by Fab Filter!

This sales pitch has been used before. Again and again and again. Waaaay too many sales pitches...
-
Then show your enthusiasm with "reactions", not words. ?

This is a pretty good idea! Try them out for a year, then use $99 to buy the ones you really like or others if you want to stay on the sub... Interesting. (But yes, down with subs... )
