Yes, this is what I'm trying to figure out. Berringer is making some affordable ones like the Neutron and the Crave. Are they pure crap? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/NeutronMod--behringer-neutron-semi-modular-analog-synth https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/CRAVE--behringer-crave-analog-synthesizer-with-sequencer

Yup, I was hoping they might have some sort of hardware sale too. I'm a bit lost as well. Yes, that's what I was talking about. I was hoping there would be some sort of affordable "basic" unit that you could build around... Yeah, that's becoming rapidly apparent! Thanks for the info though.

Briefly, my kid's b-day is coming up and is very interested in analog synthesizers. I did a quick search, and besides quickly realizing that I'm waaaaay out of my element here, I thought you guys might be able to point me in the right direction? Things I'm looking at: analog (he's got a keyboard controller) and perhaps a patchbay, and most of all, affordable! Like less than $200? Is that possible? The Euroack modular stuff looks interesting and does the Korg Mini. Berringer Neutron looks interesting too, but is it crap? As I said, I'm waaaaay out of my element here! TIA guys!

I haven't seen a better "morphing" engine than Melda's. Pull up 4 different Reverb settings (or whatever plugin because of the modular design) and "morph" between them with an X-Y grid. It's in the "A/B" section. You can only "morph" between the 1st 4, that's A-D, but you can compare 8, A-H. It's pretty brilliant really. I was thinking about this reverb, but in fact, this reminds me that I really should be digging into all of those Melda plugins I own and all of the temporarily subscribed ones... ?

I see what you did there!

Where's @Fleer? Hurry up and buy it and tell us how it you like it. ?
-
Hey, are any of you who bought this last year still using it? Just curious. :)

I did a quick search for "AMPG BASS ir files" and came up with the following. This guy links to a few here: https://honestampsimreviews.com/2019/07/02/quick-guide-bass-impulse-responses/ A bunch of free ones here, including Ampegs a little way down the page. http://www.grgr.de/IR/

Thanks - I was trying to be "cheeky". I guess it's too early.... ?
-
Do those require FULL Kontakt too? ?
-
I'm wondering how much they credit you for the full upgrade with just the Effect Rack?
-
Nothing really. But I have a special thing for the Roland Jazz Chorus amp... ?
-
I've been sure many times over too. Thanks for all the help. I guess I'll take it up with support - unless someone knows of another great Amp sim for it out there! ?
-
I have done that many times over... ?
-
Nope. Do you think that's the problem?
-
Thanks Zo. Nuts, but I could swear I've been all through that menu many times over now... But if I bought just the speakers then, no wonder. I'll look again tonight. Thanks guys. -- edit -- Ahhh. Those pics are what I'm looking for Zo! Anyone know of other Amp sims out there the Roland 120 Jazz Chorus? This thing made me fall in love with the chorus effect.
-
Wait, so I bought the freakin' 12x2 speakers and NOT the amp. (??)
-
Where is the Amplitude version then? I guess I somehow bought the "dumbagg" version instead?? I'm more crossed up now than ever! ?
-
Does this mean I can't use it without buying something else? I'm lost.
-
So should I look for it somewhere else then?? I get the difference between a "cab" and an "amp", but... Did I buy something I can't use?? And meanwhile I'm scrolling through all the stuff I didn't buy and can't use?
-
-
...but but, I just put my pony in the barn! ?
-
How does ST do new versions? Am I going to have to pony up for a v6? I'm hoping they are like Melda with free updates for life...
-
You're right Lars, per usual...

First and foremost, "thank you" for the freebie IK! Seriously very nice of you... Now, this just exacerbates my frustrations with the IK universe. I now know that I need to run the Custom Shop to pick up the freebie, then it shows up in Amplitude so I can use it in my DAW. Great. -- (warning - rant ahead) -- However.... I am sick to death of scrolling through Presets and gear that I don't own just to get to the few that I do own so I can try and figure out how to use them only to be nagged by notices that tell me I don't own the items to make the preset work. So don''t show me the Preset! It's the same thing with the IK Plugins too. I know Peter has said "this is to make it easier for the user to demo products". I still haven't gone back after the last update to figure out which TR4 and TR5 plugins I DON'T own (again) so I can hide them in my DAW (again). It bugs the *** out of me to have to do that. To Peter - I would argue that this sales tactic annoys the user enough that they don't want to use/buy more IK products. (At least for me.) This is why I haven't even been tempted by the Max sale... The way IK is set up is a mess. OK. Since I'm so irritated and shameless at the moment, it's dumb question time. I bought the "JP Jazz CFH" cabinet in the Custom Shop last year (BTW, why there is a Custom Shop AND an online store??) and for the 3rd or 4th time now have tried to scroll through all of the options/presets in Amplitude to find it until I get so irritated I rage quit and move on to look for a different amp sim. So please, someone, for the love of all that is holy, tell where this "JP Jazz CFH" cabinet resides. I have an irrational affection for the thing since it was the first real amp I bought when I was starting out and I sold it to pay rent when I was young and I sorely miss it. At least I think I do. (I've got more beer in the fridge, this could get ugly-er...) ? ? PS. Frustrated but NOT a "hater" - the Black76 is virtually on every one of my bass tracks. Love that plugin!
