  1. but now with the new product manager, you dont download the zip files anymore. do you?
  2. i thought the download limit only expires on free stuff. stuff you paid for does not expire. i should double check. I quite like the sound of the Syntronic stuff. It's a nice contrast to the weaker more authentic sounding Arturia synths. Mixing the two together gives it a nice interesting texture.
  3. so far, nothing bad has been purchased. i use it all.
  4. very heavy. its not like Arturia. >60GB needed for all. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/syntronik/index.php?p=specs I have the free owns they gave away OXa and Memory. I really like them. They have a lot more punch than Arturia stuff. I get the impression it's get different software than what Arturia does.
  5. well. thanks to this thread. i managed to get it working. i unplugged the external audio interface. started up AT 5, and let it default back to the built in audio card. then plugged the external one back in and switched the output in the settings. now it seems to be working okay. tried a reboot. all seems well. hmm.. so this software is too dumb to figure out the interfaces have changed on it.
  6. I can't even get to that setting. It closes and crashed before it even reaches that window. I debugged it. its crashing on a dll file.
  7. ran into the same issue others were seeing on Windows. AT 5 closes upon launch. ? for anyone who is using it on Windows successfully. Can you post your Windows patch version, and monitor resolution setting.
  8. Merry Christmas all! (Or Happy Holidays -- not sure what is the politically correct way to say it anymore. I am afraid to use Christmas or he or her or she or him anymore in case I get attacked. :-()
  9. Yeah. I think my problem was I toured before mass computers became big and stopped touring when started a family. You basically lugged around huge amps to compete with the drummers kick and ride cymbal and get tinnitus. It was the period where at the most you had at home was a fostex 4 track cassette tape machine at home to screw around with. Only real recording studios had real recording equipment. * The first time I saw a guy using a sim was Mark Stewart in a rehearsal for Paul Simon's Surprise tour. I was like, "Yo! How is he plugging into a mac laptop to do that"? Great player. Cool guy. * I missed that shitty tape multi track. Now with the tape cassette crazy, (never in a million years would I have guessed that tapes would be hip again!) it might be worth something. My damn sister in law plugged it in the wrong power adapter into to to try it out and fried it.
  10. It really depends what you have and can you wait it out? It's a good upgrade but the way IKM is doing it, early adopters pay extra for it. There are no spectacular deals for current customers.
  11. just copy and paste them into the AT 5 folder. They show up. I create a directory in AT 5 called import and dumped my user presets from AT 4 into there. Note: they are all unusable as is. they just sound way too different in AT 5. I need to go into each one and tweak and adjust if I want to use it. might as well build a new one from scratch. I don't really have very complex presets.
  12. i doubt it. but i dont know. i would not trust a laptop and amp sim in a PA system in an environment where a drummer and bass player can ***** out of the water sound volume wise.
  13. interesting fellow. he knows and likes to promote himself and his soundtrack company very well. fascinating guy.
  14. hard to say. really depends on will you be playing live of not. also, note, i have not actually tried a JC-22. But I did try a JC-40. It sounded amazing if you are into those tones.
  15. anyone use this? what the resource hit? I am tempted. I tried out some freebies from 8dio. Its weird that all the interfaces are exactly the same .
  16. Yeah. I agree. Neural is more limited than AT 5. But the tones are truly original and unique. Not something you can easily re-create in AT.
  17. Has anyone tried to use these yet? I loaded up Kick and Snare and CPU usage in Maschine goes through the roof. Just once instance and reducing the voices to min, makes no difference. ?
  18. I'll add my cents. I also use mostly clean and crunch tones. I use Neural Cory and now AT 5. I agree with the above. I don't think one can compare the two. They two are just very different products. Can't comment on S-gear as I don't own and use it -- just demoed it once. What I like about the AT 5 is the ability to micro manage and shape that tone beyond just eq and rudimentary mic placement. The VIR really does make a big difference and changes the game now. As far as realism goes, neither is really real like a real amp. That's why I picked up the Z-tone DI. What I am doing now is feeding one output into the DAW and another output into a small amp in the studio so I can get a better feel for what I am playing. FWIW.. A little JC-22 will probably blow away both sims. You just can't really use it live. A drummer and bass will wash you out. But good for playing at home. https://www.roland.com/CA/promos/jc_40_years/ In case anyone curious about clean tones of AT 5. I just dumped a comparison of a working track on my souncloud that uses a lapteel. The track uses a preset from AT 4 which uses a Fender Super Reverb and Fulltone echo. The preset was imported straight into AT 5. No tweaks to it. Mix 1 is the track as it was originally created with AT 4. Mix 2 is the same track using the AT 5 engine. No tweaks.
  19. +1 just make sure you download the file and keep it safe. They removed by OBx freebie from my account and want to charge me to download it again. Luckily I saved it somewhere.
  20. what is the audio driver you using? check outputs. works fine on OS X with core audio.
  21. as posted on other forum. the price 2 yrs ago was 279 euroes for 2 synths + 4 effects. so this deal is similar, but seems a little better. unfortunately, i have so many retro sounding synths to work with already. ?
  22. yeah. this ! ^^ you probably just have AmpliTube Leslie like me. it's awesome.
  23. you mean the panel on the right? yeah, its weird you can't close it. I have gotten used to it when its in full screen mode, but when i reduce the window size (which I sometimes need to do) , its a total waste of space once you have the tone you need. i wonder by the IKM devs found it can't be collapsible.
