  1. It is something that would need to be stored in templates if the request ever materialized. The request itself seems like a quick hit extending "set modules as default default" with flags stored in bus and track folders in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Core\DefaultPCModules
  2. Might as well add CbB to the mix. Then at least you will have a supported DAW. WRT M1, I tested it in 64bit X3e Producer, SONAR Platinum 2017.10 and CbB 2020.08 on Win10 Home v1909. It loaded and played OK. I am using M1 v1.8.4 from Korg Collection 2 If you are using an older version of M1 consider getting the free update. The new UIs are worth the trouble. Here is a thread about it
  3. Maybe a very old version. AFAIK, recent versions do not accept a wav file on the command line. This is a requirement to pass an audio clip between Cakewalk and another program. Wavelab should work fine. Any program that accepts a wav file on its command line may be called using this method. It is also possible to add practically anything else to the tools section of the Utilities menu such as the "User Reference Guide" or any pdf. Documents will open based on their Windows association.
  4. Can't change how ASIO works but the other driver modes do not have the driver limitation. If the amp has a line out that may be a better option.
  5. This is a limitation imposed by the ASIO specification NOT the DAW. A host may use one ASIO driver at a time. To change ASIO drivers in CbB both Audio input and output device options must be deselected before selecting a different driver.
  6. I have not had to petition Eventide for a new activation but have found their support pretty responsive.
  7. I like the H910. Occasionally use the H3000, Quadravox and Octavox (along with the H910 all are algos from the HW version of the H3000. I let the smoke out of my H3000 a few years ago so its nice to have the software versions). Instant Flanger and Instant Phaser get some use too. @Craig Andertondid a review a while back https://www.harmonycentral.com/forums/topic/1907695-eventide-anthology-x-effects-plug-in-suite/
  8. No weasel-speak in their install instructions https://www.eventideaudio.com/support/downloads/installing-and-authorizing-plug-ins Step 3 is pretty clear ALL Eventide plug-ins use iLok Dongle is optional

    Automating Audio Pitch

That is an interesting one, it uses MIDI to manipulate pitch. I have not been keeping up with this stuff, it appears zPlane has a product similar to Pitchmap called reTune. I have not played with it. Depends on the effect one is trying to achieve. The pitch parameter in zPlane's Elastique Pitch 2 may be automated with an envelope or MIDI but it is not free either. MAutopitch is part of the MFreeFXBundle. MIDI may be used to automate pitch change.
  10. If the files are copy protected, they cannot be imported. If the files are on a device that cannot be written to, the import will fail. Try copying the file(s) into the Cakewalk audio folder or some other area where Cakewalk has write permission.
  11. The only time I know of when Cakewalk sfz engine synths go silent is when unexpected data from 3rd party MIDI files gets processed by the synths. All the Cakewalk sfz engine synths react the same and need the same fix
  12. Nothing since Jan 2020. According to https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/18450-why-isnt-cakewalk-open-source/&tab=comments#comment-156127 SOS dropped the column.
  13. Yeah, try to keep the scan path as small as possible. Strange things can happen if the scanner opens dlls that are not VST plug-ins.
  14. Is a Steam delivered version of SONAR installed? It may help to show an image of the VST settings in preferences or at least provide the VST scan path entries.
  15. Yeah, it's not much of a tutorial unless one already owns the modules and wants to study the patch. AFAIK, the patch is not part of the Polymode preset collection so I grabbed it.
  16. Here is an example changing the Default MIDI note 33 - Snare Center to play MIDI note 24 - Hats Open 1 To save the new map use the "Save As" option at the bottom of the drop down
  17. Some of the maps don't change much. Some do. Depends on the device. There is no specific setting for the SR-16. Scroll through the section below the drop down to see what is mapped. Notes that are remapped are shown in green. It may be necessary to modify a preset or create a new one. If you only need to change a few notes use the default scroll to the note to remap below the drop down click the note then on the right side of the settings windows change the articulation to whatever you want.
  18. From the SD3 documentation linked above regarding clicking "MIDI In/E-Drums..."
  19. From the settings menu click "MIDI In/E-Drums..." This opens a "Settings" Window, click "Use Preset" This activates the drop down to the left of the "Use Preset" button There are a collection of Alesis e-drum kits and an entry for Alesis in the legacy section. Not sure if any of them work for the SR-16 but it is easy to try them. The SD3 for MIDI mapping is https://www.toontrack.com/manual/superior-drummer-3/3/3-5-property-boxes/#3-5-9-midi-mapping The Cakewalk drum map manager is not too bad to work with. If you have more than one MIDI file, it may be a good idea to create a drum map instead of having to rearrange the data in multiple files. Or take a look at the Transpose plug-in. Custom maps are a very simple. Both drum and custom maps are not much more than typing exercises. And once created may be used in an project.
  20. Do you know what was originally used to record or play the MIDI track? If so, it may be easier to change the SD3 internal mapping to play the track. It is the last option in the SD3 Settings menu called "MIDI In/E-Drums..." Or create a drum map as mentioned above Or create a custom map in Transpose MFX

  22. Depending on how the deletion was performed, user files and registry entries may still exist on disk. The proper way to completely remove Cakewalk by BandLab and all older Cakewalk products is documented here If the default Vstplugins folder has been used for 3rd party plug-ins be aware step 9 deletes the Vstplugins folder If you prefer not to lose the contents of the folder make a copy or backup before proceeding with step 9.
  23. no creating another account does not affect the registry entry mentioned above.
  24. Sounds like a really old installer. These installers did not read the registry for multisamples folder redirection. There are two parts to most DP expansion pack installers sfz files and samples programs The programs must be in the correct location or F5 will not find them and they will not show up in the browser. My guess is the programs are in the XP era DP folders or somewhere other than ProgramData. Programs were relocated starting with DP 1.5 running in Vista. I found this http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013168/Missing-Expansion-Packs-in-Dimension-Pro-LE-1-5 but it does not mention where the XP era installers put the files. In XP, DP programs were stored in "c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs". According to an old post from Tim Swartz the programs may be in "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs". I do not recall that every being used but he should know. I found references to "c:\Users\All Users\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs" and "%appdata%\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs" as a potential alternate locations for post-XP installs but the knowledge base article refers to the folder in ProgramData. I put all DP programs in ProgramData like the knowledge base article recommends. ------------------------------------------------------------ Adding notes to self for future reference and for those interested in Cakewalk history P5 site http://project5.technetos.com/ arachnaut's registry post http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2673527 XP DP install path http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/1862403
