  1. It is true the software is used by the SSL UF8 but SSL 360° runs with or without the hardware. It provides a software console for the all the instances of the channel strip and bus compressor in the DAW.
  2. Check the MIDI driver mode in preferences It may need to be set to MME
  3. Very nice. Thanks for the tip.
  4. An aux track is an audio track with a patch point as its input. They may be used to sum data from other audio tracks. Audio tracks including aux tracks exist in the Track View track pane. Buses exist in Track View bus pane.
  5. http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Mixing.13.html
  6. Don't have pre-X series SONAR installed to test but I expect the results to be similar. Usually opening projects in older DAWs throw a warning but load even if some features are missing. The exception being projects containing patch points or aux tracks. Projects containing them fail to load in SONAR Platinum/Professional older than 2015-10 and all other Cakewalk DAWs regardless of release date.
  7. search the forum for webview there are several posts about it here is one
  8. It's the best price I recall for the collection. IIRC, the first 3rd party add-ons for VM. Nice effects, I particularly like PSP Delay EX, a delay with a built in effects loop. It's one of the "buy once and get any new modules free" bundles. They have added a couple modules since introducing the package, however; nothing new in a while.
  9. Use the menu on the Media Browser tab (B in the image below) to set the "Synth Preview Output"
  10. The restriction is one I/O driver at a time. Some manufacturer's make ASIO drivers that support using multiple devices. Usually they must be the same family of devices or at least from the same manufacturer. Using multiple devices has the added issue of timing. They must use the same clock or the signals may not be in sync.
  11. It is similar to the request for supporting surround sound plug-ins. This is not something easily done by duplicating tracks.
  12. There is a difference between instruments with multiple outputs and effects with multiple outputs.
  13. Closer to what the OP probably wants I am sure it is on the to-do list Just not sure when/if it will materialize
  14. Folder Locations in preferences are version specific. Some have defaults under "Cakewalk Content" but may be relocated anywhere available to the application. Still there is only one "Cakewalk Content" folder, the one specified in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software" ContentDir.
  15. There is only one "Cakewalk Content" used by all Cakewalk DAWs and CbB. It is defined in the registry entry ContentDir in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software All Cakewalk DAWs and CbB have version specific folders in "Cakewalk Content" along with the Theme Editors, Rapture Session/Pro and a couple of other Cakewalk products.
  16. Use the track gain or plug-in like the free Blue Cat gain suite
  17. To move the entire "Cakewalk Content" without messing with SONAR/CbB setups use a directory junction. For example to relocate "C:\Cakewalk Content" to the D drive - Use Windows Explorer to move the "C:\Cakewalk Content" folder to D:\ Open a command window as administrator and type: mklink /j "C:\Cakewalk Content" "D:\Cakewalk Content"
  18. It has not changed in years and is in the documentation. When documented features appear to be missing, the first thing to check is the Workspace setting. BTW, 2021.01 has been superseded by 2021.04 There is no reason to post to this thread.
  19. yes, info about it is here The link also provides additional information about improved error detection and handling. For future reference, including a image of the error message is often helpful. "Leveling tool" does not by itself provide a lot of information. Knowing it is https://audiotools.se/downloads/leveling-tool/ narrows the field of possibilities down considerably.
  20. hmmmm. @scook looks like it's updated, probably not to the latest build, although there is a link to the release notes: This is out of context. The "It" refers to integration of the New Features data into the body of the document and removing the entries in the New Features section. There comes a time when new features are no longer new. If this were never done, the New Features section would have decades of entries.
  21. The New features section In the distant past, this would get integrated before each upgrade, in the post X-series SONAR it was done periodically (every year or so). It has not been done since the release of CbB.
  22. There is no need for ASIO4All if the interface has a working ASIO driver supplied by the manufacturer. As noted above, ASIO4All can conflict with other ASIO drivers so it is best to delete it before installing other ASIO drivers. All that needs to be done is download and install the Focusrite ASIO driver then configure CbB to use it. WASAPI may still be useful when the Focusrite interface is not plugged in. It works with the internal sound chip and is part of the OS.
