  1. While CAL may be useful, fortunately there are alternate solutions for removing unwanted CCs from MIDI data Here are a couple of examples for removing CC65: Edit > Select > By Filter (then delete) MIDI Event Filter MFX (either leave in the track to process data on the fly or apply effect)
  2. It was buses interleaved with tracks that caused the my display problem with the comps. Ultimately, to get the buses with comps under the tracks, I had to reorder all the buses. This may be a CbB issue though. Not sure if other DAWs have this issue.
  3. I usually search the help index http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=ix.html
  4. The meter for every instance of the compressor shows up in a column on the right in the 360 software. Clicking the meter makes the knobs at the top of the display active for the instance. In CbB, the instances appear to be added to the display as they are added to the project. There does not seem to be a way to reorder the display.
  5. The Mastering tab is a recent addition
  6. First make sure the controller is powered on, connected directly to the PC (IOW not using an external hub) before starting CbB. There are a limited number of things this can be: The controller is not sending MIDI data. The connection to the PC is bad. The device is not seen in Windows The device is not setup in CbB. The MIDI driver mode is not set correctly in CbB Assuming Windows sees the device, to verify if the PC is receiving MIDI data, install MIDI OX. If it sees the data, this rules out the first two. If MIDI OX does not receive MIDI data, replace the USB cable. If it still does not receive MIDI data, the controller is either misconfigured or bad.
  7. Instrument tracks like the one shown in the image record MIDI data. They display audio waveforms only when the track is frozen. The Surrealistic MG-1 VST3 has Enable MIDI Output selected by default but it is not necessary for recording. There is not enough information in How is the instrument being played while recording - a hardware controller, the virtual controller or the keyboard on the plug-in UI?
  8. v2 of their console strip and bus compressor plug-ins AKA the SSL Native Essentials Bundle. A little pricey @ $479, it was on sale earlier this year for $50 v2 is a free upgrade for owners of the original plug-ins.
  9. That's certainly easier than dealing with it on a per-track basis and probably better in the long run.
  10. Been like this since day 1. The feature request to treat instrument tracks the same as audio and midi tracks in the console view has been around almost as long.

    GUI FONT PROBLEM

Generally problems with the current production release should be posted to the thread created for the release. This makes it easier for the developers to see and respond to problems with the release. The current release is 2021.04 and its thread is
  13. Could place an aux track or another bus in between the instrument and the reverb bus and apply EQ there. Any track/bus with its output set to None generates a "Silent Bus Detected" warning. I do not recall this ever causing the DAW to hang. The DAW does wait for the user to clear the warning message. There may be something else going on. Maybe holding down the SHIFT key while opening the project will help. This starts the project in safe-mode. Also may want to make a copy of the auto-save file. Hopefully versioning is enabled too. Both are useful should this turn into a project recovery exercise. In this case, it would be just as easy to use the regular output of the cloned track instead adding a pre-fader send thus avoiding the warning message. If one really wants to use tracks/buses with the regular output set to None and not receive "Silent Bus Detected" warnings set WarnSilentBuses to 0 in Preferences > File > Initialization File.
  14. Must have used the UC1 page because I have v1.1.31 The site is challenging
  15. https://www.solidstatelogic.com/products/uf8?tab=documents use the uc1 page instead, see below
  16. Had I experienced the same failure, I would have expected it was for SSL hardware owners only but then why would @Zo mention grabbing the software in the first place? Would have driven me nuts too. Glad you got it sorted out.
  17. Was going to suggest a re-install but assumed you would eventually get to it.
  18. yeah, it either runs or pulls up the existng SSL360 mixer ditto
  19. Maybe running 20H2 build 19042.985 here
  20. Not sure what to tell you. All I did was install and the software. Ignored the "No Devices Connected" message Click the Plugin Mixer, the Tips and Shortcuts popped up (this is also a button at the bottom of Settings) Don't recall if the Tips popped up on top of "No Devices" or when I clicked the Mixer button. Was not paying attention at that time. Started CbB Loaded the VST3 version of the plug-ins and they populated the SSL 360. I don't run as administrator and use Windows AV software.
  21. Click plug-in mixer below home on the left in the SSL 360
  22. Click the plug-in mixer below home Run your DAW and add the channel strip and bus compressor This shows CbB + SSL 360 running w/ 2 instances of the channel strip and the bus compressor on the master
