Except that I already HAVE acoustic and Dobro guitars. Methinks we are talking at loggerheads. ? [Are you secretly a rep for Gibson?]
-
Only problem with this suggestion is that I play alt tunings on an acoustic and a full-metal dobro. So buying another guitar to tune them mighty be overkill. ??
-
Found one. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bandindustries.roadie I'll test it out later.

Perhaps you didn't get what I mean. I probably didn't express it well. Will those apps allow me to save alt tunings of my own creation? I've already got two very good apps that have all the standard alt tunings. But I've never seen an app that allows you to input your own parameters for alt tunings. Does such an app exist? Cheers
-
Hi guys. Bit of a left field question here. Has anyone heard of a guitar tuning app (something like Guitar Tuna) which allows you to make/program your own alt tunings so you can access them quickly? I do a lot of alt tuning with one fret down-tuning, which obviously won't be any of the options, and I'd like an easy way to tune without having to capo or get to a piano. Any ideas welcome. Thanks

Just a question (not being snarky or anything) - how 'open' is the community to new members when it comes to the mixing competitions? Is it mainly the same faces always winning or do they give others a chance? Is it the sort of site where you have to invest LOADS of time before getting anything back? As I say, not being snarky; genuine interest.

Did you ever get a response about this? Seems like just another email harvesting scam. Certainly doesn't inspire confidence in the company. ?

Does anyone else have problems with Steinberg's site? I'm trying to update info, but I keep getting faliure messages. And when I try to get the free instruments, I never receive the promised email. Anyone else?

I have a question about the UJAM stuff - has enyone ever used them for professional productions? Or are they more for songwriting and jamming ideas? I got nearly all the guitar ones in various deals over the years, but when it comes to making a final song, I always reach for my guitar as I find the UJAM stuff sounds 'too polished' - like a preset - that, and the fact they always seem to go out of time with the DAW. Anyone using them beyond just messing around? Do they have a real world use?

They've got lots of freebies on their site - very nice of them.

Hi Jesse, thanks for giving it a listen. This is not my usual genre, but I like to try my hand at everything. If I'm working with female vocalists, it tends to go more pop - with this one I wanted a sparce sound. The original track was played on a ukelele and sounded ultra-twee, then Charlie turned it Euro-rave, then I took his mix and made it into what you hear. HitRecord is a collaborative 'artists' site started by the actor Joseph Gordon Levitt and his brother a long time ago. I think it's as old as Facebook. The setup and layout of the site have gone through many changes, and the approach has changed a lot in the last few years. It used to be smaller and more intimate, now it's a bit over-crowded with meh, but still a good place to find good people and projects to have fun with - purely for shits and giggles - nothing serious. This year I was fortunate to have a Zoom chat with Joseph himself, and I've got my stuff used for various high profile projects. But if you're looking to make money from the site, forget it. Shits and giggles only. Thank you so much Bjorn, The main piano was played by a guy called Charlie who is wheel-chair bound, but that doesn't stop him from coming up with some great music - plus he has a wicked British sense of humour. I added some extra 'airy' piano underneath his. My main work on the track was dissecting it, rearranging it, and sound design on the instrument and vocal sounds. I really worked on those sounds, especially the drums. Originally they were your standard techno-vibe - Carving out a space for the vocal in all that distortion was fun. kate Bush? I'll pass it on, but she's so young, she probably doesn't know who Kate Bush is. ;D

I got far too many things but the best of the bunch were: Jrr's time-sensitve Melodyne update. (thanks Larry) Exponential Audio R4 - I've been using it a lot already....it's so nice (I also wasted a few quid on Phoenix) Nembrini Echobandit - it's great for adding some extra-ness to a mix. OrangeTree Samples Core Bass Pear - with offers and orange slices, I got it for about 20 bucks. Nice! Crucial 500 GB SSD....to clog up with all the free stuff I've picked up over this BF month. Total spend - the arm and the foot (they let me keep the leg) Oh, and I almost forgot - when I checked out my XLN account I rediscovered that I still had 1 kit, 3 extra instruments and 2 MIDI packs to use up, so that was like a happy present.

Yes, but it's the @hotmail.com suffix that is not accepted by some automated sign up services. Nothing to do with it being the same service. It may also be because your email has been compromised and exposed on one of those many hacked email lists. If it has, some companies won't accept it, especially if there is a payment service involved. Try putting your email in here https://haveibeenpwned.com/ It will check your email against a list of email addresses sold on the dark web to see if it's been exposed. My Hotmail account has been compromised several times.

My wife has a Yahoo mail and I keep telling her to change it. Yahoo had had numerous security compromises over the years, and I think this is one reason why it's often flagged as an unreliable email address by companies. I had a similar problem with Jrr and my old Hotmail account. I couldn't open an account with it, but when I switched to Outlook, no problems. Anyhow, I got the email and downloaded the plugin without a hitch....using my Hotmail address...so there you go. ?♂️

Magix is the DFS of software houses. *For our UK members*

I've just bought the Nembrini EchoBandit Rack after demoing it in a mix - it's really really nice. You can demo all their stuff first, so try before you buy. https://www.nembriniaudio.com/products/echobandit-rack-analog-tape-echo-delay It's not super creative - but it just sounds so f***ing good.

I did a little remix this morning of a song over on HitRecord - I threw some Nembrini plugins at this one along with various filters and free Meldra FX and my new R4 and Phonixverb acquisition - I'm trying to ween myself off of iZotope. I've gone for a Bjork vibe. Distorted drums and thick basses. Lots of lush warmth to this one. Hope you like - https://hitrecord.org/records/5292895 I've changed the link because I've uploaded a newer mix
-
Lots of the FX were given away free earlier this year. Most of the 'deals' are more expensive than the endless email deals magix send me every week. I guess Magix have a different take on Black Friday. ?

I would love to know what I'm doing wrong then? Iris2 is THE plugin that stalls my system every time. I don't have this problem with any other plugin and I'm running Kontakt, EastWest Play engine, Spitfire - never a problem with these. As soon as I stick Iris in the mix....stutters, drops out, stalls. The only fix I've found is dropping the number of Voices as low as possible....which kind of means I have to inhibit the functionality to make it usable.
-
Any recommendations among their products? I got Lo Fi Clipper for free when the site first went live, and I've only recently got around to using it (very nice) - any good mastering plugins by Nembrini (that people use) that you'd recommend? Thanks
-
This has been given away as a freebie in so many deals this year that I'm surprised anyone would consider buying it for the full price, or any price. I would also add for anyone considering getting it that if you are running a laptop setup or anything with an i5 processor or below, Iris will be almost unusable. I've managed to use it in a few mixes, but I have to seriously limit its performance and freeze all other plugins. I don't know if it is particularly power hungry, or whether its just not very well made (which would be strange for IZotope, but, if I had to lose one VST from my setup, this would be the first to go....or can someone convince me otherwise? Just my 2C

Yeah, I write all my own material, music & lyrics. I've got a lyric line in mind, but it's still early stages. I totally agree Kurt - It's still in the sketch phase
