cakewalk not relevant in the market?
Michael Vogel replied to Ciodontrax's topic in The Coffee House
I have many many DAWs for compatibilities sake for clients. Having now retired though that’s no longer necessary however. None were bought in case Cakewalk doesn’t make it. I did however buy Cubase 9 ( or 9.5, I forget which) when Steinberg made an attractive cross grade offer at the time Gibson dumped Sonar. It was an opportunity to get a DAW I had thought was too expensive up to that time. While there are some features I would love Cakewalk to adopt from others, there are none that important that their being absent in CbB, push it to second place for most of the work I do now. Occasionally, I try using other DAWs to start a project but none feel as comfortable or familiar as CbB. Anytime a musical idea comes to the fore it’s CbB I load up to give substance to my creativity. -
I’m pretty sure that cloning a drive will not circumvent the need to contact the server every 6 months. I just think this would have been big news in a lot of computing areas and we would have heard about it. HOWEVER: If it was me that was so concerned I would conduct an experiment. 1. Create a cloned Drive making sure to record the date. 2. 6 months and 1or more day/s from that date, restore your system with the cloned drive and see if CbB goes into Demo mode. Of course make a backup so you can flip back to your “current” system at that time. 3. Report back here to tell us the wonderful or not wonderful news.

Gotta say I continue to be impressed by the ongoing development by Noel and the team.

Is Dolphin a euphemism for crocodile? Safety conscious swimmers want to know. Yikes!

Tried that. That was the reason for my post. I thought there was a sale but it must be over. I don't have the time unfortunately, as I'm going into hospital tomorrow for surgery and will be out of action for the next month or so. Wanted to get it done before all that. If I really think about it I'm sure that nothing I'm doing musically will suffer by using my current software versions. Fancy having GAS and not taking anything for it. lol

Been years since I’ve had anything alcoholic to drink. I was being serious. I can clap with one hand. Sort of.

Mine have always been manufacturer refurbs that come sold as new with full 12 months manufacturers warranty.

Gift idea. Buy your boomerang a stick. No happy returns. But fetch is a nice game.

I can slap my fingers against the ball of my thumb making a clapping sound. So the sound of one hand clapping can sound like clapping.

"An anachronism is a chronological inconsistency in some arrangement, especially a juxtaposition of persons, events, objects, or customs from different periods. The most common type of anachronism is an object misplaced in time, but it may be a verbal expression, a technology, a philosophical idea, a musical style, a material, a plant or animal, a custom, or anything else associated with a particular period that is placed outside its proper temporal domain." en.wikipedia.org Yep; that's Bapu

I've always bought refurb'd laptops. Just bought another 2 weeks ago. The previous one lasted from 2009 to 2019. Not bad value I reckon.

I thought it was something like that. I had this recollection from many years ago when you told us how you got the name.

Doesn't it mean grandfather? Sorry for being serious for a minute or so. There you go; Answered a question and apologised in one fell swoop.

[CLOSED] Cakewalk 2019.09 Early Access
Michael Vogel replied to Jesse Jost's topic in Early Access Program
I'm currently running CbB 2019.07.79 according to my CbB About screen; My Bandlab app tells me I'm up to date. So, I download the Early access installer from the supplied link and get an error saying that the installer will only update 25.07.0.79. Isn't that what I have? I've tried running the update as an Administrator. -
You can remember being shown something in ‘76? I’m impressed.

I always get answers alright, just not to the questions I asked. Infuriating I know, but at least an answer. I recently contacted an online store management support team for help with an error message while trying to recover my password, telling me to contact support. In reply I was given instructions on how to recover my password. Haha. It’s only taken 2 weeks for this exchange to occur. I’m glad I pay for high speed broadband. It means I can wait so much faster than I used to.

Anyone still using Project 5 in Windows 10?
Michael Vogel replied to JoseC's topic in The Coffee House
Well there’s something worth trying. I haven’t given P5 a thought in quite a while. Thanks for the re-awakening.
