  1. Or you could get some voice training and have no concerns with either TOS or flakes ...
  2. Are you using the proper driver from Yamaha? Bingo. If you are recording only one track of piano, WASAPI should be ok but as soon as you want to record more than one track you have to have a proper audio interface with a proper ASIO driver from the manufacturer. Whatever alleged "ASIO" driver you used with your onboard sound chip is complete garbage. Did you watch John's videos? He explains all this very clearly.
  3. If you are a beginner I recommend saving your money and working on your skills instead.
  4. What audio interface do you have and what driver mode are you using? Also, what digital piano do you have and how is it connected?
  5. Oh God. People can barely drive in two dimensions; last thing we need is them attempting three.
  6. Just make it simple and cut/ paste. If you did that you'd be finished already instead of wasting time trying to be all cute and clever about it. The paste dialog already lets you specify exactly where to paste.
  7. That's because C:\ is where your programs belong. Do it the way it is designed to be done.
  8. Recording live drums is not nearly as difficult and mysterious as it is made out to be.
  9. Expensive? https://reverb.com/p/octave-cat
  10. That's your problem right there. Izotope are notorious resource hogs.
  11. Here's the deal: if you can't make it sound good without the channel strip plugins, you won't be able to make it sound good with them. The guy in the video is kinda on the right track but what he's missing is that it isn't the SSL plugin that is making the difference but what it is doing. What is happening is that the presets he is using are coincidentally creating what is called complimentary EQ.
  12. What would you suggest instead?
  13. That's like saying you're not going to lock your doors anymore because you already been burglarized once. Do you lock the doors to your house when you leave? Do you lock your car will you park it somewhere? Why? Are you living in fear or something? Taking reasonable precautions is hardly "fear-mongering."
  14. There are ways to mitigate some of the damage: Facebook Containers
  15. Dang! Sold out!
  16. So, how about that email address, banking information and passwords? Man, your naivete is breathtaking..
  17. The problem with your argument is that it's a strawman. Not to impugn your wife or her intelligence, but her problem is not the phone being locked down for privacy, but not applying basic research skills. I know it sounds remarkable, but somehow people managed to find their way around, get something to eat and even buy stuff before Big Tech wanted to spy on us all the time. There is nothing, nothing, inherent about the internet that requires all of Big Tech's data mining for it's functionality. In fact, it wasn't even a thing until they figured out how to make billions of of it.
  18. Learn to listen with your ears instead of your eyes. Skill is what makes mixes sound pro, not gear.
  19. I'm convinced that trying to record with a Sound Blaster and ASIO4ALL f***** up my timing so bad it took years of practice to overcome.
  20. You been living with your head in the sand or something? https://duckduckgo.com/?q=data+breaches+list&t=fpas&ia=web Consumer Data: Increasing Use Poses Risks to Privacy If you think this is only about companies trying to sell you mouthwash or barbecue grills then you're just naive.
  21. MasterWriter doesn't harvest your personal data and sell it to anyone with a bank card either.
  22. (3) Sound Blaster cards are garbage for audio production.
  23. You got dial up or something? Something is definitely wrong.
