Really enjoyed your track posted here . . . powerful and uplifting, lots of excellent guitar work . . . what a nice warm guitar sound you captured, well played ! I'll definitely check out your SC channel if there's more of this . . . make sure to post some more here on the Cakewalk Forum, lots of great guitar players here will appreciate what you do. You mention "Recording and mixing is still a mystery to me" . . . there is a science to it, but there is also a changing perception, that depends on how and where it's delivered. Best advice I ever heard here on the forum is to try not to mix at radically different volumes, so your ears get used to trusting what you are hearing from your equipment . . . and try to compare your exported mixes in as many different listening environments, at different times of the day as you can. Mix decisions are important, focus on what makes the song shine, back off the other things with volume or EQ. Also, a great YouTube video "magic is in the midrange" was super helpful for me, for fixing the middle of things. Best of Luck, looking forward to some more of your stuff !

Outstanding work Lynn ! . . . much respect for how you captured the many lead vocal and echo + harmony parts in the video production, one man band stuff, and I'll echo the other comments about the vocals sounding really good. You also leaned into that guitar a few times, as you can do . . . very much enjoyed the whole thing.

Another great Sunday night listen ! Perfect against the sunset. Well conceived piece Jerry . . . now, I'm wondering if the lead instrument is clarinet or oboe ? just a very lush thick sound. Really enjoyed this, has an overall feeling of optimism for my ear.

@Larry T. . . . this is super cool to listen to, and very catchy ! I actually like the sound of the Cakewalk SI drums, and have used them myself a lot over the years, they don't take over a mix, kind of over compressed samples, but sometimes the drums need taming down . . . you've made great use of them here in your laid back groove. Really enjoyed the guitar work, and adding harmonica was a nice touch. Great stuff, excellent theme and variations ! (was your cat really named boom boom ?) Bruce

Yet another "Well done Bjorn !" . . . really liked that encompassing horn sound you started adding in the middle of this, also very effective when the echo delay goes chromatic. Sounds great, and interesting to listen to . . . nothing but good vibes, enjoyed it.

Nice pop tune, I liked the catchy melody ! . . . brought to mind something like a Dua Lipa vocal, and the simple melody and lyric kind of stays with you after a bit, great listen !

Just a treat for the ears (and eyes) Nigel, just a treat ! . . . only way it would be more entertaining is if you actually smashed that guitar (c/w pieces flying) . . . hmmm, well maybe a cheap guitar prop. Also, enjoyed the synth sequencer, really helps drive it along against your excellent guitar work. Vocals rock, you know.

I used to tune pianos, back in the day, and one day I tuned a piano, and my client sat down after and played some incredible boogie woogie, now that felt so good . . . just like your piece did ! The ether feeds you well on this one Wookiee . . . you always have that interesting pallet of sounds, thought I even heard some virtual jungle monkeys yelping around 2:30, but that could just be my mind playing tricks. @mark skinner @subvibe Very cool collaboration . . . alive and kicking all around the world ! Great to see and hear music like this come together. Definitely a very fascinating fusion of different styles that totally works for my ears. I've heard both of your tunes online, and this really melds the two styles together into one interesting tapestry. Even the two vocal styles have very distinct characters, but you've made it work, in the back and forth story of the lyric. I always love me a thick mix, esp. when it's clear . . . and this one fills a large audio range from sub kick to high percussion, and keeps the clarity. I suspect on club size speakers that sub kick might overpower a bit. Always a joy to hear Mark's left right panned guitar interplay . . . stir in the Subvibe neo-pop sound, wow, I really did enjoy this !

What a gentle peaceful piece of music, feels so good to listen to and enjoy . . . and enjoy I did ! Instruments all work together perfectly, so well played and mixed.

Wow Wookiee ! . . . you brought out a lot of toys from the box in this one. I liked it a lot, and found there is much dancing and some counter melodies happening in the overtones all through this . . . I found my ears (and attention) phasing between the overall rhythm and those overtones . . . very enjoyable.

Never had a drummer steal my girlfriend, they just drank all my beer until the meter got wobbly. @bjornpdx Thanks Bjorn . . . I did find it an easier path, with someone else writing the vocals, though still, some work to get it right, fitting it all together like a puzzle. (When I write the lyric, it's like there is no puzzle to put together yet ?)

Well done by you, and well enjoyed by me ! Particularly liked the guitars and vocals . . . maybe a quicker fade leaving more of the climax ? Just a thought, after a few listens, but very strong musically overall !

So much to like here in this one Gary . . . it's a great song about writing songs ! The intro has such beautiful ambience, and the harmonies are excellent. Thought I heard a touch of feedback just before the second verse cuts in ? All in all a very balanced mix, with great performances. Pretty rockin' guitar solo (for a country song), and really liked the transition back into the harmony vocals. Most impressive, enjoyed the song and the band very much !

Mark, thanks for the uplifting comment . . . the guitars really did take a long time to record and piece together on this one, but I did experiment a lot, and think I found a signal chain for recording my acoustic that works better . . . your input is most appreciated ! Bruce

Started with a pattern from NI Picked Acoustic VST, then overdubbed my Yamaki Acoustic guitar with an alternate strumming pattern, mic'd with Sennheiser Omni directional, Valhalla reverb, played my Gibson Epiphone Electric in the chorus, thru Korg A3 . . . Fretless Bass courtesy of Modo Bass 2, BFD3 Brush Kit, and a few slide guitar touches with Ample Martin acoustic VST . . . next time, I'll ask you to reveal . . . because your "Devine Lie" stuff is always so awesome ! (Folks will wanna know)
