Hi, A lot of Kontakt instruments use key switches which takes up keys on the keyboard. Is it possible to use a 2nd keyboard like the Korg Nanokey or similar 25 key controller for the key switches in Sonar/CbB to work along side my 61 key synth? Thanks

For clips, go to Inspector, click on "Clips" at the top. At the bottom of the screen that opens you will see clip colors. Change them there.

Best way to learn is to open Theme Editor and poke around. It's divided into fairly obvious views, tho some things are actually in the wrong place. (I've racked my head a few times looking for things that should be in another place). Just know not everything is in there or changeable. Download and look at other's themes to see what they've changed.

To make it easier for them: TTSImage.dll >THEME_TEMPLATE ->3986.xml --><SkinItem Name="Console\Console_40px_separator.bmp" ResourceType="BMP" ResourceID="2719" ResourceFileName="Console\Console_40px_separator.bmp" /> Size: 54x3 pixels

1. Today I discovered CbB's PRV Controller Pane is not configured right for Pitch Bend. Instead of -8192 to 0 to 8191 (as in older Sonar versions) it maintains 0 to 64 to 127 (same as Velocity). The middle center point is there but labeled "64" instead of "0". Request to return it to the previous labeling.

Same here. This was just so bazar I had to share.

Yet another 1st for Sonar/CbB. I open CbB and drag in an old wrk file with 8 simple MIDI tracks I recorded from my old synth a few years back in Sonar X1. Reassign the midi outputs to the proper location. Hit play and all is good. Then I notice all the faders are maxed out to 127. So I hold ctrl and click a track to select all tracks and move the faders to 100. Hit play again and, HUH??? All but one track transposed up an octave. How'd that happen? I didn't do anything, I swear! Then I tried to move the faders down to 100 while still grouped together and discovered as I moved them up and down the whole song was transposing up and down. I've never heard of such a thing. Is it supposed to do that? I thought the fader thingies were for +/- volume output, not +/- octave pitch. I never knew about this feature. Shall we call it RealTime MIDI VariPitch? What will this li'l piece of software come up with next? I can hardly wait to find out.

If your problem is with the controller part, Sonar/CbB's MackieControl.dll has issues with some Behringer stuff. One of the links above goes to Azlow's dll (a forum member) which is version 17.5.5.0. There's another dll, version 17.5.3.0, which works for my Behringer. Let me know if you want to try it.

I've seen this behavior off-and-on since X1 days. Also on audio tracks. Something inside the box is going goofy. Seems to be only visual and not functional, tho, as only one input can actually be selected.

I still use vvocal for things melodyne isnt as good at. (Yes, I said it, and I'm sticking to it.) Plus it's a lot quicker and easier to use with less cpu load. BTW, I've always seen vvocal create a 2nd clip over the original even after it's rendered. I end up having to move it out of the way to delete the original.

Could be we're having CbB vs. video card issues that crop up every now and then. Sonar was famous for this. Flickering screens are a good indicator for video problems. For now I just write VS off as a lame duck feature. To this day Sonar & CbB have little things going on like aim assist line that won't go away even after I close the program. It just hangs in space. I have no real need for VS and have only now tried to use it, so it's not a big deal for me. Still it should work as advertised and it doesn't.

VocalSync - Add track numbers to the Guide track selection list
sjoens replied to Panu Pentikäinen's topic in Feedback Loop
No. -
Well... what would say? Of course, he's just a horse. However, it's already a matter of request.

I have similar issue with VocalSync. It opens but doesn't do anything. Dead in the water! You might check that on your end too. VV works for me. HOWEVER... it opens in the Multidock with it's right half cut off. I have to drag it out of MD into it's own window before I can use it. Did/does the same thing in Sonar, too.

It seems to work in SPLAT (tho the editor disappears as soon as it opens), but not in CbB. I follow the online directions. I watch the videos. But all I get is a dead VS Editor that does nothing. After selecting a track and creating the region FX, the Editor dial opens but instead of the track name at the top, it says <Select Guide> and the dropdown is defunct. The clip turns gray and says "Vocalsync" in the name but it isn't split in half like the pictures show. If I click anywhere away from the editor, it disappears. The online doc says "Right-click the desired guide track and select Set as Default VocalSync Guide Track on the pop-up menu." but there is no such selection in the pop up menu. Is something wrong with CbB's VS here?

VocalSync - Add track numbers to the Guide track selection list
sjoens replied to Panu Pentikäinen's topic in Feedback Loop
At least it works for you. Not here. Total lame duck. I can create a region from a clip and VS opens but it's dead. All the header says is <Select Guide> and there's no drop down list. I've read the online doc which is no help. I watched YT videos that don't explain what I'm doing wrong or why mine doesn't work. If I'm missing a step, there's no info on what that would be. I especially like the part that says "Right-click the desired guide track and select Set as Default VocalSync Guide Track on the pop-up menu." - There is no such selection in the pop up menu. In fact, the moment I click anywhere, the editor window disappears. -
Interesting. I've opened old projects in newer versions but have never seen this.

"Is it possible to change the length (height) of the faders in the mixing console in Theme Editor?" If you mean how long they travel (stretching to fill the screen like Mixcraft and others do) then No, they are fixed size. Если вы имеете в виду, как долго они путешествуют (растягиваются, чтобы заполнить экран, как Mixcraft и другие), то Нет, они имеют фиксированный размер. Others are requesting it (see Feedback Loop) but it's not likely to happen any time soon, if ever. Другие просят об этом (см. Цикл обратной связи), но это вряд ли произойдет в ближайшее время, если вообще когда-нибудь. If you mean changing the size of the fader graphic then Yes, but not recommended because it will throw off the center point of the fader as it is also fixed. Если вы имеете в виду изменение размера графического фейдера, тогда Да, но не рекомендуется, потому что он сместит центральную точку фейдера, так как он также зафиксирован. Theme Editor is only good for repainting the graphic files to give the GUI a different look. It cannot be used to change how Cakewalk functions. Редактор тем хорош только для перерисовки графических файлов, чтобы придать графическому интерфейсу другой вид. Его нельзя использовать для изменения работы Cakewalk. -translation by google

That's optional in Preferences. No theme meister can thwart colored strips!!! Tho, it is possible to color fill some CV modules so the strip color won't shine thru. TIP: To color fill a module background so the strip colors will still shine thru, make it semi transparent.

Or maybe raise AimAssist above the ruler digits???
-
Found the culprit! I had installed LoopBe MIDI but never used it. However, Cakewalk decided to assign it as IN port for my interface/controller instead of the interface/controller. Deselected it in Preferences so hopefully that won't be happening again.

I wish it were that simple. I almost never use it or even near it to accidentally click it. Today the bug is back, so I'm removing the [FIXED] sign. And again I'm not editing projects but changing themes back and forth while working on a new theme.
