Thanks noynekker, yes, I don't know if or when it'll ever happen again. Just glad we were able to do it at all.
Thanks Olaf!

That's some nice, chilled out, bluesy playing. Is that a japanese strat - heel truss adjustment?
Thanks Andrew!
No, it's a '61 Reissue Mexican.

I admit - I was looking at Cakewalk in the background so got a vague idea as to when the big sections were coming up ?
Excellent playing and production all round!
Thanks Antler! I'm amazed that you could make it out!

Top notch in every way. ?
Nothing more needs to be said, which is just as well as I need to leave here right now so that I can throw my pc out of the window.
Thanks for the comments, Paulo! Much appreciated!

one question, I see Larry "whack" those cymbals, but I don't "hear" it.
Is my top end that compromised? Hear the snare and toms just fine...Thanks Tom! Crashes sound fine here.

Thanks so much for the comments guys!
To answer your question Nigel, I have three Sony HD video cameras which I place around the studio when I know I'm going to record various instruments.
To be perfectly honest, I don't spend as much time as should with the camera placement etc as I'm more concerned with the actual performances of the recordings.
If only I had another pair of hands to be a kind of "roving" camera that would be great. It is nice to have three views of each instrument though!
Cheers!

I've known David Myers for many years and never knew that he played piano. He mentioned one day that he'd like to record one of his original tracks and asked if I'd produce it.
I was completely blown away by his composition and playing. This has been a most enjoyable project and I hope there'll be more like this from him.
As usual, we filmed the sessions...

Well, if you are trying to go by what Jacques suggests, render with Elastique Pro.
I did try Elastique Pro and the result was unusable. Audio artifacts everywhere.
I remember when Sonar closed down before Bandlab took over, I tried Samplitude Pro.
I couldn't warm to it but I have to say that the time stretching in Samplitude was excellent. No artifacts, glitches etc. The funny thing is that it also used the Elastique algorithm.

Thanks for the replies guys!
I will try the Elastique Efficient.
There are no extra markers in the file so hopefully it'll render out OK!
Cheers!

I'm trying to bounce a piano clip which has had some slight timing tweaks done to it with Audiosnap.
I have to say that the results have been pretty underwhelming. I haven't used Audiosnap for a while and previously I've never been very impressed with Cakewalk's audio time stretching. There has always been artifacts on the final rendered audio.
I thought that by now things should have improved but unfortunately it seems like it's still the same.
I'd just like to know if there's anyone who has been successful using Audiosnap and if so, which rendering algorithm did you use?
Thanks.

I had a visit from a very good friend from my school days way back when. He was the drummer in our school band back in the 70's. He came out from New Zealand to South Africa and to celebrate the visit I put this track together. It's the first time we've played together in over 40 years!
The track is quite a laid back bluesy sort of song..

I'm thinking of the main riff in the song Empire particularly. Maybe it is just me, but a great brand to be compared to.
I've had a listen and can definitely hear the resemblance.
Thanks for the link!

That sounds REALLY good from an engineering perspective!
If you threw Deep Purple and Queensryche in blender musically, you may come out with something like thisThanks for the comments! Interesting comparison. I'm a huge Purple fan but I've never listened to Queensryche. I think I'll go and check them out.

Thanks Tom! Yes, the original recordings were done on 2003/2004. I wasn't doing videos back then.

I like the interplay between the Hammond and the guitar solos. I was expecting a little more proggy from the intro, but very pleasing to listen to and well recorded and mixed.
Thanks Kevin! I tend to save the proggy stuff for my own albums.

In 2003 my band, Off the Edge recorded our fifth album entitled Site Under Construction. The album was released on cd in 2004.
The album was recorded in my tiny home studio at the time which didn’t allow us to use live drums All the drum sequences were programmed.
Originally the album was recorded in Adobe Audition but I transferred the files into Cakewalk by Bandlab and remixed everything.
Next year will be the 20th anniversary of the recording of this album and I decided to revisit the original multi tracks and replace the drum sequences with live performances. My good friend Larry Rose will be re recording all the drums for the album which will then be remixed and remastered.
The difference has been remarkable. As much as programmed drums have their uses, one just cannot beat the real thing.
The first song entitled “Taking it to Extremes” has been completed.-

Thanks Mark. Yes, that's the reason we did it. We really don't know if we'll get another chance to do it again.
