  1. I tried a lot of amp sims, incl THU and Bias FX, Podfarm, Guitarrig 4 Imo THU has nicer cabinet and reverb sounds than Amplitube, BIAS FX sounded really brittle but it all depends on your setup/input I guess, Bias FX has great reviews so probably my setup is not ideal for it. Amplitube has the most realistic 70's ACDC like tone/sound for my rig I found, but maybe for metal THU would be better... There's probably many other great sounding amp sims out there
  2. funny/lol, I had the hardware Drawmer Multiband (Fet) compressor, and also their DL251 compressor. both Drawmers had the nicest 'box' sound of any hardware I ever had, including pro and mastering grade fe. Elysia, BAX and a Sontec Mastering EQ by Custom Audio Germany, SKnote, TK audio etc.(of which really I could only recommend the Drawmers, My BAX pushed the stereo image a a bit to the front, made it sound more 'mono'.....which can be useful but not ideal for a mastering EQ). The Elysia compressor and EQ sounded good and clean, but imo no improvement over a VST. Great they could include that Drwamer 73 Fet warmth in the software versions. For recording defenitely Drawmer 1973 would be my first choice to run any tracks through, even without setting a lot of compression but just for the box tone. The DL251 (VCA compressor) worked really well on a bus with the link knob off, in RMS mode. eh...my one VST would be Amplitube just so I can play ACDC 'TNT' with a realistic 70s Malcolm/Angus sound
  3. She indeed looks at you Kenny and really likes you a lot !!! And I kept it need & tidy, right ? (first title came to me was Today's Whores Cope -> don't ask for the pics please)
  4. Kenny, would you help this young lady with her homework ?
  5. hahaha you made it into the CH All Star Team again this week
  6. I'm ok untill they move/wiggle, then go bonkers
  7. Kenny, don't tell anyone but it's actually Gene. since KISS retired he's taking side jobs.
  8. thanks but no more guitars for me....still working on a bunch so I can sell them....will only keep 3 or 4. (bought about 25 over the years and liked most of them, better spent money than my analog home mastering/mixing gear 25k down the toilet).
  9. I need no insomnia or constant fog to pull that off..
  10. I like a mug of nice fresh decaf coffee after a lovely artichoke based vegan meal. Ideally I would light up an E cigar too. then sit down and listen to my hi-end Dolby Surround system at full volume for a few hours checking the latest neuro dubstep tracks.
  11. bet them Chuck licks sound awesome on that..
  12. Has you tested if the West Coast electric power infrastructure could handle a simultanious VST Scan ? And the global internet survived a simultanious backup/scan online ya ?
  13. the TDR Nova (with dynamic eq funcion incl , threshold, attack.release.ratio, wet/dry etc etc) is FREE (no installer/download manager or similar crab needed either) you can choose several 'quality' modes with ofcourse different CPU / Latency. it's got 4 bands, a lot of features, A/ B, bypass, solo band, adjustable curve, hp/lp filters/shelves, even mid/side processing. there's also a paid GE edition at 60,- with more features.
  14. nothing anytime soon probably. upgraded Sonar X1 to X2 and X3 which both I could have skipped. 10 year old Medion budget Windows 7 PC with RME PCI express card runs with 0 probs (since it's not connected to Internet, virus software, windows update all removed). for me (just a few light plugins) it's approx. as fast (or faster ?) as a 2022 Thunderbolt3 or a MAC (my total roundtrip latency 1.4msec)
