  1. Without any FX, it produces a toy guitar sound. But the amp sims I've tried turn it into something useful; esp in a busy mix where I don't want a full-sounding voice. I use EZKeys in the same way; to my ears they sound awful, but in a busy mix they often fit right in.
  2. I picked up Wedge Force Matcha for $9.99 and would like to move the samples folder off my system drive. Does anyone know how to do this? I've tried renaming the folder hoping it would force a pop-up dialog box asking me to locate the folder, but no luck.
  3. In a situation like this I'll actually use a low-CPU VI like Vacuum, Hybrid, or Halion Sonic and then swap these out for the high CPU VI before I start mixing. Also not ideal, but ...
  4. Zo, I suspect that you already know this but, another option -- and this works for all VIs -- is to load a low-CPU usuage patch close to what you want timbre-wise and use that during the writing process. Then once your track is done, apply the finished MIDI data to the (higher CPU) patch you want, render that track to audio, and then disable the VI track with the high CPU patch (in case you want to go back and make changes later). Is this an ideal/optimum workflow? Hell no! But it does work. More and more I'm finding that the latest plugins (both VIs and FXs) are CPU hogs. And it's not even just one company (which in the past for me was Acustica). I'm now experiencing this with the latest plugins from IKM, NI, AAS, Waves, even FabFilter. I'm not sure what's going on, but this seems to be the general trend (and one that I hope plugin designers are aware of and address). It's really taking the joy out of making music.
  5. Arturia fixed the 30-day issue; Mello Fi is now registered in perpetuity.
  6. My copy is registered for only 30 days (though it does not say it's a demo). Yes. I successfully activated it in Cubase and was able to use it. Despite this, it still shows up as being registered for only 30 days. Probably just a glitch.
  7. I was able to get a S/N and Unlock Code instantly from Pluginboutique: https://www.pluginboutique.com/products/8520-Tape-MELLO-FI . After registering/activating these on Arturia's website the plugin immediately showed up in My Products and the Arturia Software Center and I was able to load it in my DAW and use it. The only drawback with this approach is that the registration is only for 30 days. I'm not sure if this is intentional (maybe a demo?) or just an error.
  8. Arturia's freebies sound better than some company's paybies.
  9. Despite being able to apply 3 different coupon codes to one order, and a price tag of just $16.99, I'm not going to buy anything. I have everything I need/want from Waves. My god, I think my GAS is gone -- it's a miracle!
  10. I had the same experience: this Sound Pack was a big disappointment. However, I really like the other 10 Sound Packs I own (all of which were freebies), so I'm still quite pleased with AAS overall.
  11. NM
  12. The code should be BS21.
  13. I almost passed on the deal because -- after seeing the super low price -- I assumed it was for the Session versions. Glad I was paying attention (for once).
  14. Here's a screenshot of the upgrade offer:
  15. And I should add that I bought the Bundle I mentioned above years ago rather than buying the products individually. Maybe my pricing was based on that purchase history. IDK. Also, I did notice that my upgrade price for each of the individual synths (Chromaphone 3, String Studio VS-3 and Ultra Analog VA-3) was $39 each. So obviously I chose the Bundle which was less than each of the synths alone. Hope that helps...
  16. To be clear, the upgrade I did was the Professional Series Bundle. I previously owned everything in that bundle (all 7 products) except for Multiphonics CV-1. Is that true for both of you as well?
  17. I'm not sure why there's such a big price difference. I just went to "Upgrades & Offers" and saw it there. The normal price was $69 but it was reduced to $34 b/c of their current 50% off sale.
  18. After getting my free Analog Orchestra sound pack I noticed that AAS was offering an upgrade to Chromaphone 3, String Studio VS-3 and Ultra Analog VA-3 (from version 2) and this also included Multiphonics CV-1 (which I never owned before) all for just $34! So I bought it. Here's a company that genuinely put musicians first rather than just using those words as part of their logo.
  19. I'd like to get an MPE controller but have been waiting for the technology to mature. Does anyone here have one that they'd recommend?
  20. You didn't really miss much; the freebie was kinda meh.
  21. I'm surprised at just how few built-in arpeggiator patterns exist in Ostinato Woodwinds. Do folks typically create their own?
  22. Here's what 4.1 includes. For you, what's new is fairly meager and probably not worth the upgrade price.
  23. I too am interested in upgrading from MPS 2.1 to MPS 4.1 and have been looking for a better deal than $199. The best I've found thus far is $171.64 at Plugin Discounts. But given that I've upgraded a few of the MPS products separately, I don't want to spend more than $129 (which is what I paid for the MPS 2 crossgrade from Ozone 8 Advanced).
  24. Just a head-up ... there may be an issue with BBCSO Pro v1.5.0: https://vi-control.net/community/threads/bbcso-pro-v1-5-0-breaks-audio-output.118315/
