Kinda Beatles with the saturated vocal and psychadelic chord changes. Really quite good! Not much to crit, maybe occasionally the high synth line steps on the vocal a little bit, as in 1:18. I loved the organ fill coming in around 1:54, perfect in the mix. Maybe the vocal could be saturated but also a bit less dry? Is there any reverb or delay on it? It might match the surrounding instruments a bit more? I dunno. It's a really good mix, things sound great. Cool song! cheers, -Tom

Loved it. Haven't seen the episode, but your video sets with the song and sets up the inevitable twilight zone twist! I 100% got zero Steely Dan out of this, but how about They Might Be Giants? Your vocal is super clean and clear in the mix, and the bgv's are such great adds in great spots. Kudos for the non-cliche chord changes. Well done! See you in Willoughby. That was a nice earful of well matched tones! Your guitar tones were very meaty yet clear in the mix. Maybe the drum programming could offer up a bit more variation or fills as you go, and I did get the feeling in spots like in the 1:30's that you might tighten up some of the rhythmic guitar chuggas in sync with bass and drums. It's a super ambitious rhythmic challenge but you could just edit it into submission, methinks. And totally worth it. Like the super awesome rhythmic tightness around 3:18!!! I liked the fade in, I knew this thing meant business. Well done! cheers, -Tom

Oddly enough we've found Friday night to be the ghost town at Costco. A breeze to get in and, importantly, out.

10 yrs of service as power conditioner and rfi filterer. Now intermittent off and on. 10 yrs, not a bad run. Looking for a new unit, I have irregular voltage, 119 to 124, very swingy back and forth. Maybe I need a voltage regulator as much as a surge protector? Could get away with 6 or 8 usable outlets. Any winners come to mind??? Thanks much, -Tom

Pretty darn epic, nicely blended big pads in the background with some tasty guitar work! Video kept up the interest as well. I got caught a bit out by a major guitar chord that I was expecting to be a minor, around 3:13, in that section, but hey not my job to call the chords, and you might have had something different in mind than my expectations! Is this a cover? It's got a professional sounding structure and arrangement. Kudos if it's your original! Nice vocals! I like your effects treatment on the bgv's, although I suspect your harmony or main vocal on the word "sure" might be worth a tweak. Catchy tune! Might also bring kick and snare up front a bit more in the mix, to fully support the guitar groove. cheers, -Tom

That 100% hold interest all the way through. Nice thoughtful proggy sections. Unfortunately I couldn't listen with volume cranked, but I got the feeling that the lead high synth introduced at 1:24 might be worth a check, a bit too much upper eq? Do you notice any icepicks? Has anyone had a Danelectro bari guitar that lasted more than five years of regular use? I had one, it was fragile, the pots got scratchy, the body was made of some balsa/ foam combo? Loved the growly sound, however.

This, exactly!!! I was going to comment on how the drums are pretty buried, I'm only really hearing the cymbal, but if you are aiming for the 1963 Ford F-100 mono speaker dashboard mix, so sweet, it's there. Your vocals are the perfect blend as well, excellent! Listen to your tune and stare at the dashboard speaker! My Dad had one of these when I was a kid. Very nice indeed!

I dived into the first song and loved the instrumentation, and the mix. Cool use of rhythmic synthy stuff and the more organic instruments. Bass sits wonderfully in the mix. Her vocals are nice and clear, but definitely hit some sibilant spots. Don't know if it's too late to dial back some of her sssss's ? She has a great voice though. My consumption was not as conspicuous as previous years, and I felt quite happy about that! - upgraded an internal 1TB drive to 2TB. Can breathe now! - Nembrini "Cory Wong" amp - Cableguys "Shaperbox 3" bundle. Amazing value - DJ Swivel's "Spread" multiband eq widener - Gospel Musicians' "Splat to Clat" drums Had a decision to make about Reason 12 or just the subscription Reason + . . . I don't need any Reason synths or effects, most of which have a 20 yrs ago sound, like the AIR Xpand stuff. But Reason's new BVX Vocoder is da bomb, it sounds amazing. Almost thought about buying Reason outright to get it. That would have been around $420. Not worth it, as owning the rest of Reason 12 would be just too dumb, given what I already have covered. So I subscribed to Reason +, like 20 a month, that's lame too. A great vocoder though. A good savings season, so glad it's over!!!
