  1. What do you call a beatnik that lives by the river? A hippiepotamus.
  2. ^ ^ Thanks! And how did my post of 7 minutes ago end up above yours of 6 minutes ago? Have you been playing with time again Craig?
  3. Whew, that was some update! Almost 2 hours. Now on 1909.
  4. Sometimes when the power hiccups, some of my stuff will come on and others won't, regardless of whether they were on before the glitch. More than once after an electrical storm, I'll find one or both of my boxes on.
  5. W 10 Home 1809. Seems a little old compared to yours. The computer seems to update pretty frequently by itself. I understand from other posts here that there are some that need to be done manually. Haven't done that. I'll do ahead and click the Update button and see what happens. Thanks everyone. Wish me luck!
  6. I got this message this morning: "Restart to stay up to date. Your version of Windows 10 is nearing the end of service. Restart and install the most recent version of Windows." Something to do with those of us who got the free upgrade to 10 from 7 maybe? Has anyone else gotten this message?
  7. I can't provide the "why", but if I ever need to enable Groove Looping in a MIDI clip, I ensure that the first and last notes of the clip start/end exactly on the beat by editing the notes. I believe a MIDI clip's length is defined by the data in the clip, not how long it appears.
  8. Better than General Mayhem or Major Disaster!
  9. Steve, the general rule is to remove Cakewalk completely, install SONAR and all the plug-ins you want to keep, then re-install CbB. That is so CbB will install everything in the same folders as SONAR and will 'see' where everything is at during install and be able to use them. Easier than pointing CbB to all your different folders after install.
  10. Holy plug-ins, Stratman! At least you can be thankful that you're not Bapu. We're all thankful we're not Bapu. ? Good luck!
  11. You might try disabling the onboard sound card.
  12. Empty Thole. Regardless of the creek you're on.
  13. Also, in Cakewalk by Bandlab (CbB), you must select all of the tracks* you want to mix down. In your image, it looks like only 1 track is selected. I don't know anything about Bandlab. *Yes, I know there are other ways, but why make it more confusing?
  14. Be aware that in the days BCbB (Before Cakewalk by Bandlab), Yamaha keyboards didn't work with MIDI-to-USB converters that weren't Yamaha. Actually, that was much longer ago, back in the aughts, so maybe things have changed so that any converter will work. Plus, you didn't mention what (if any) audio interface you're using. If you're going to go deep into computer recording, an interface is almost essential. If you don't have one and are considering one, check out those that have MIDI ports. That way you won't have to deal with funky USB drivers or Microsoft updates screwing up a good driver.
  15. Undoubtedly, some sort of snap-on tool.
  16. Also, it appears like your Master is routed to a "speaker" output and not to the Roland.
  17. To continue the story of my brother the programmer's Korg MS 2000... That guy was interested in buying it for his son, so my brother dug it out of the closet and hooked it up, and it didn't work! ☹️ While he and I scoured the manual for the reason why it wouldn't work, time passed and the guy bought something else. Meanwhile, the brother discovered that he had the polarity wrong on his after-market power supply, switched it to the correct position and now it works. But he's having fun with it now and probably won't consider selling it until he gets bored with it again.
  18. Knew Hobby Horse Biblically? Talk about getting wood.
