Not Instrument Definitions, but there are SR 16 Drum Maps already in Cakewalk. They are probably pretty close to the 18. Try them and see. May need tweaking. But, it's possible that I got the drum maps from one of my other, older installed Cakewalk products.

Have you downloaded and installed the USB drivers for these devices?

My Juno DS triggers all plugins at the same time
57Gregy replied to RICHARD HUTCHINS's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Once I've recorded a track, audio or MIDI. I make sure to set its input to none. Also, check that your synths don't have 'Enable MIDI Output' selected. Still, I sometimes get drums playing from my keyboard while another patch is selected, too. I hear the other patch and drums. I've learned to ignore it. -
Sometimes, all you need is 1 foot.

I have been able to record internet audio into CbB using the RealTek sound card of my HP computer and the What You Hear preset. You should have a similar setting for whatever sound card your friend's computer has. I've never had a Dell.

Can he get a Mulligan?

Welcome to the forum. It should work like any other VST2 or VST 3 virtual instrument. You may need to unzip the file first and it requires "iLok Activation", according to the website, but no dongle necessary. Add the file location to Cakewalk's Plug-in Manager and select Scan and keep your fingers crossed. Good luck!

Finally, after more than 63 years, I have achieved the impossible.

Welcome to the forum. Is there anything in the Stage-73 MIDI track?

Are there shortcuts for switching between screensets or workspaces? For instance tracks in one, and busses in the other, click a couple keys and you switch between them.

Or cold water.

Welcome to the forum. I think that would be found in Windows, not Cakewalk. Seems like standard Windows mouse behavior.

I thought that at first, too, , Nigel, but the name in the Playback Timing Master is for the AT2020+, according to Robin, which does have a headphone output and presumably will act as the audio interface. While the OP "got this USB mic because it's the same mic that a musician I like uses, and he's a successful musician with a million subscribers and a large spotify following, and his music sounds really good, but he uses Logic Pro X and I don't have a macbook " doesn't mean it will perform as well on a Windows machine. I'm not as knowledgeable as a lot of the folks here, but one thing that is invariably true is that no one has satisfactory performance with USB mics and Windows computers with Cakewalk software that I've read about since 2002. Maybe Robin will return and give us an update on the situation.

Does you mic have a headphone output? Is it the AT2020USB+ or the AT2020USB? I see by your Playback Timing Master that it's the + model. Do you have headphones plugged into the mic's output or are you trying to listen through the computer's speakers? A track's output level is set from the Track Pane's volume slider. Or the Console View's volume slider. Or from the interface (the mic) if it has an output level control if you're listening through headphones plugged into the mic. Select All (in green) and expand the Track Pane. You should then see the volume level control.

First, hit P on the computer keyboard while Cakewalk is open and then click Driver Settings on the left. Tell us what it reads for Playback Timing Master. That would be the device that would make sound. But, if you really want to make music, a USB microphone is not the way to go, no matter what they wrote on the ad for the mic. You will need an audio interface with a good (not USB) mic to record with. It could get expensive, but doesn't have to be.

Welcome to the forum. What is Snap set to? If it's set to Whole or Measure, you'll only be able to place a note on the first beat. I started with MC also, 19 years ago.

While not exactly 'in' the console view, you can open the Synth Rack on the side of the console and access the synth through that.
-
Does this device have a monitor mix (or something like that) knob either on the hardware or in its software? That would allow you to set the input from your mixer and the output of Cakewalk for better balance between the two. Which M-Audio AI is it?
-
Just go down to your local Cracker Barrel and grab one off the wall.
-
Which Korg are you using? If you can find the Instrument Definition for your keyboard and load it into MIDI>Instruments, then you would be able to select it. Otherwise it's likely not there to select. That would allow you to set the Banks and Patches of the Korg in Cakewalk. It won't necessarily get your sound working.

recording drums with behringer umc 1820 interface
57Gregy replied to Stefan De Cnodder's question in Q&A
Welcome to the forum. You can't set the input level in Cakewalk; that can only be done in the interface. If all your tracks are set to record, that's why the track volume sliders don't do anything. Adjust you levels at the interface and after recording you can set the playback level of each track, as you discovered. Also, using a plug-in effect such as EQ or compression, those are not recorded. They are applied to the output only. Make sure that the Input Echo button is clicked on the tracks you want to hear while recording. -
Using Jamstix 4 with Superior Drummer in Cakewalk
57Gregy replied to Mark A McDowell's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
When you load Jamstix, see if there is an option to 'enable MIDI output'. I also know nothing about that plug-in. -
I mistook your post count as experience with DAWs. ? It seems like the only items you can change globally are the colors or whether the meter is segmented or not, and a couple of other things. You've probably already discovered that, too.

Pre-ordered: Neural DSP Quad Cortex :-)

Neural? How do you connect it to your brain? USB?
