  1. ^^^ that many strings on a guitar would only give me an opportunity to play more wrong notes at the same time Má Vlast (My Country) - Bedřich Smetana - Czech Philharmonic (one of my very favorite orchestras) - Jiří Bělohlávek conducting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXt2zGiDa80 (couldn't get it to embed)
  2. Yes, but every jazz band I've ever played in did "Night In Tunisia". Another "Jazz Standard". A Latin take on the Art Farmer and Benny Golson classic Killer Joe - Jorge Dalto and the Inter-American Band
  3. "What A Fool Believes" - Doobie Brothers
  4. If there ever was a Jazz' Greatest Hits collection, this would be included. "A Night In Tunisia" - Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker
  5. Looks like I missed the last page for my last post (It was a good song anyway). Back on track - Another song that was fun to play when I was in a 7-piece band. (I got both a flute and a sax solo too!) Another Star - Stevie Wonder
  6. Devil's Gun - C.J. & Co. During the disco era, this is one I enjoyed playing (I got to sing the bass/baritone part)
  7. Salt Song - Stanley Turrentine Mr.T. was a great sax player, and here is one of his signature cuts.
  8. Another sssslllllooooowwww song done well. There are only two people I know that can make something this slow work this well, Mark Murphy and Shirley Horn. Here is another M.M. and then I'll listen to someone else Again - Mark Murphy
  9. "Walking On Sunshine" - Katrina And The Waves
  10. Mark Murphy took this Michael Franks song and took it to a higher level. Satisfaction Guaranteed - Mark Murphy
  11. Japan is close to China and sometimes Spike Jones is funny (my father used to have all his LPs). This is probably not PC anymore, and no offense is meant by me. Spike took goofing off on the bandstand to a higher level, and they were all good musicians and the arrangements were usually tight. So take it as it was meant, some silliness. Chinese Mule Train - Spike Jones And His City Slickers
  12. For puns, all the groans are good, especially those that are NOT in a good way.
