Sadly I'm going to say "yes" MTurboDelay rarely seems to be the "go to" I'd think it would be. I open it thinking - this has everything - but in practical use I can rarely get it to do what I want. I'm a fan of Melda stuff but other than say the Tape interface which is pretty straight forward - as I go through options I'm left just wanting a simple interface like a guitar pedal with different sounding delays/repeats. And with all of that, it still lacks and Echorec simulation.... so there is that part too.

ADSR March FREE Plugin with Purchase - Kilohearts Slice EQ
Brian Walton replied to stony's topic in Deals
This was free with a late 2020 issue of computer music magazine.....so before you go spend $6 on some trash you don't need to get it, make sure you don't have it already. -
Limitations ability to only use 2 VSTs, I'm out. ?

When I read the list, I was thinking the Multi-Parimeters being part of the "acess to modulation" they mention. Multi-Parameters wouldn't have any meaning to anyone not already versed in "Melda" so I wonder if the term modulation was used instead as that at least has some context to it outside of the Melda world.

Here is the list of what you get by paying for the free ones. It isn't just nag screen removal. Though not everyone will utilize these things. https://www.meldaproduction.com/MFreeFXBundle

Is Cakewalk Reliable For Large Projects?
Brian Walton replied to Tim Smith's topic in The Coffee House
I agree the software is capable of large projects, but recording 16 tracks live - presumably latency and plugins isn't even a consideration for resource needs as it wouldn't be doing all that real time processing. (I was running similar projects with Cakewalk Sonar 4 about 15 years ago). Running 15 VSTis all with a long list of plugin chains and mastering plugins on the master bus plus running a guitar VST with low enough latency to not sense a hint of delay playing real time....then we are cooking - but this is going to be computer dependent as well....my main machine can't handle that but I'd imagine other decked out modern machines could. -
And one more thing to add, if you sign up for an account at Melda, they give you like $10 in credits so that plus a 50% off sale knocks it down. There is also 20% off referral bonus if you use someone's code (here is mine: MELDA31209027) for first time users. However, I tend to suggest buying something that is worth more than the free bundle to maximize the value there. But there are plenty of people that do this at a 50% off sale, get the 20% off referral discount and also take the $10 credit making the bundle only cost like $12 out of pocket.

Yeah, looks like a stripped down version of the Melda Free BUndle (that you also pay to unlock the added functionality). https://www.meldaproduction.com/effects/free I didn't look at the 1:1 but looks like a sub set of those plugins and I'm sure extended just means it unlocks those perpetually. I'd personally just wait for the next 50% off the free bundle sale to get all of the free ones unlocked, not just these 16. But certainly do more compariions on the products includes, I just took a 15 second look

I have both the Black and White IKM strips. The White obviously being the 9000 "simulation" I had the White before I purchased the PA 9000J and hoped that it would negate wanting the PA 9000J but when I tested the PA the difference in results I was getting quickly seemed obvious to me. The IKM has some unique features such as Mid-SIde, but then again the PA has things like the THD and MIX on the comp. I really like a number of IKM plugins, but the SSL channel strips they have don't seem like they are the best on the market at this point. Perfectly usable for sure, but I prefer the sound of the PA one in this case. I do like the fully resiable nature of the IKM where the PA is in limited percentages. The PA 9000J makes it on finished tracks, the IKM White sadly I don't think I've really ended up actually using it other than testing.

Yeah, Sand 4 is potentially slightly better sounding but a real resource hog so on my computers not something I'd use across a mix like I can do with the PA strips. And as cool as the UI is for Sand4, I also tend to think it isn't as user friendly for making adjustments quickly. (and also agree that I personally prefer other bus comps to the G-related Townhouse, though I tend to use it on some mixes depending on the sources/style and with speed constraints as it is really really easy to setup quickly.
-
I also prefer the 9000J. Have the 4000E and it rarely gets used. I just like having it in the tool box for comparison as I think everyone should be familiar with it. If you are looking for a glue bus compressor function only then yes, I'd prefer the Townhouse for that function. PA has quite a few good bus compressor types in this sale, I'd demo to see what you prefer.

I was also surprised by this. I'm fully aware of the sounds from the Sampler/Synth being limited time to download. I really thought the MODO products would be "self contained" especially since the marketing suggests they take up a much smaller footprint that other Drum VSTs. You would think with all the trash talk about this practice (and overall pricing structure) IKM would cave and just provide no time duration on this stuff. Realistically how many people are abusing the downloads in a year with products with libraries this large? The last thing I want to be doing is downloading this stuff again, unless I legitimately need to.
-
You will have to pay to download the sounds again after that date (think new computer installs etc).
-
The free update only seems to have undisclosed "reliability" improvements. Others noted they are not seeing any performance improvement. Therefore I'm not sure I see the point of doing the upgrade unless you plan to pay for the new drums. It appears to be an update to alow people to purchase new drum sets not previusly available.

What, no one wants to give IKM credit for now giving away the Studio Kit for Free? (and yes I own what was the full product until they released the 3 new kits...so it means little to me directly)

This kind of thing is always interesting but doesn't prove that all guitar strings sound the same by a long shot. I haven't done these tests in over 5 years but when I did there were clear differences in tone as well as feel using the same size strings from different makers. And some strings keep that sweet spot of tone far longer than others (and I'm not talking about coated strings). That said, these differences are going to get lost in the mix so to speak. But are interesting when obsessing over tone playing alone or in the studio.

I haven't installed it on a new computer in a while. But, yes I'm sure the license file/software is tied to your email address.

As many as you want that are yours.

I was surprised the Amek deal didn't get more bumps and fan fare yesterday here. It is a solid deal and I personally think it has a great workflow. The Lindell 50 is cool too but could use a mix knob on the compression section, and it is a deal I think we will continue to see again. It was also $50 in Jan. Honestly if they give us a great deal on the Amek Console again and I have a good voucher the Lindell 50 will certainly see a lot less use after that day.

New - move.ment by KIA & AudioFB (virtual instrument)
Brian Walton replied to FranciscoJ's topic in Deals
Who knows what the deal was here. Perhpas an employee made it and Kia clamied the IP if it was developed on a company machine or partially during company hours. Lots of companies basically make you sign an agreement that says anything you develop is "ours" Just one of the first things I thought about when I saw the announcement, no idea if that is the situation here. -
Subscribed, but you might want to take a look at what the goal of being a youtuber is. I have one account with under 1000 subs and about 400K views. This content of 200+ videos generated zero income and took a whole lot of work to create. If the goal of being a Youtuber is to make money figure out what that looks like, if it is simply to create entertainment becuase you enjoy it, focus on that.

The paid v4 stuff is, but doubt the v3 was updated for that https://www.toneboosters.com/support.html
