I'd say it is worth testing. It has the basic interface and also hidden tweaks when you want to go deeper. No ilok or crippling license scheme either. Wish it did "binson" but covers a lot of other types pretty well and not a resource hog. But the soundtoy you already have, assuming the full version, covers a lot of ground already.

It astounds me the thread even continues after someone reveals the terrible model like this. These guys need to fix a fundemental trust issue with their paying customers. I don't care how good the product is, that model is absurd and there is no way I'd buy it even at $5. (my opinion).

Well that depends. The free version (which is very full featured) doens't require anything. The paid version has more than one authorization system available from what I understand. Resolve is far more system dependent. It can be very stable, but you need the right hardware to support it properly (and OS as well).

I thought Drum Core's 20 gig library was excessive (and that contains loops, not just the samples). 60gigs is pretty absurd. I do appreciate and use the Grand Piano they gave us though.

+1 amazing for the money. Also own all 3 on Windows and a few extras from the store. Shortcuts and layout are very similar to Photoshop for Photo for anyone thinking about test driving it.

FYI - Boz Digital Labs has: The Hoser, +10 DB Compressor, and +10 DB Equalizer as Pro Channel Modules Part of those are currenlty on sale. The best deal is when the bundle of all 3 of those goes on sale though (sometimes at $60 for all 3).

Not sure what went wrong, but it is absolutely VST3 64 bit on my machine...and those always default to the "vst3" folder.

Installed on more than one computer with no need for ilok despite what the checkout process demands an ilok ID. Mine suggested 2 downloads, which seems like a poor customer service model. That said, I try to backup installers and if this one really works without further authorization, that makes it more tolerable.

Stock photo they have used for a long time. it also has the Softtube FET Compressor in the right hand of the image which has always been an expensive add-on. I don't think you will get any answers on the release or hold up. The plugin was never in the "package" and was usually a separate purchase other than that one window of opportunity to get it for free. There are other plugins that were part of Platinum I have that I wouldn't have otherwise as a paying customer during that time period.

Like I said, it depends on the value of this product to you I think $30 is too expensive for just about every WAVES plug-in (Omni Channel is an exception). But gladly paid $50 for Scaler 2. For me, it creates way more value to the music creation process than any of the 20 something WAVES plugins I have that are easily replaceable with something else. To you, it might be worthless for the way you create.

If WAVES made it, the regular price would be $399. Honestly if just about anyone else released it the normal price would be $99+. Look at the competition, Captain Chords...you have to be connected to the internet for the thing to even work. You never see Valhalla run a "sale" it is because they established a very fair market price, not any different here other than the fact they are throwing everyone that refuses to pay "retail" a bone, giving them a chance to buy it on sale.

They launched the upgrade price at $19 for a limited time, then it went up to $29...not sure how long it was at that price, but it is currently at the $19 price. And the $49 new Scaler 2 price was only right around the time of launch, pre-order time I believe.

The price is literally the best it has ever been...including last years sale in order to actually get v2, so yes, I'd consider it a BF sale. If the price is the lowest it has ever been, the expectation even on BF isn't necessarily lower than "last BF." The only way to get this price previously was pre-order pricing where you both had to wait and were not quite sure if the product would be stable. Or to buy v1 during the holidays last year and then wait MANY months to then buy Scaler 2 upgrade during a small window, and with the software showing some pretty decent sized bugs in Cakewalk at the time. Therefore this deal is looking pretty good for any new comer in my mind. Depends on your needs as the value it provides you. In my workflow, "the other stuff to buy" either collects dust or I have a viable replacement for it. Nothign in my workflow replaces Scaler 2 adequality. But it also isn't software everyone will fall in love with. I'm a musician/guitar player. I never formally learned music on a keyboard and this software help with Chords and ideas that go beyond what is reasonable on a fretboard. It helped renew my interest in recording my own tracks as I took a multi-year break from playing instruments.

Perspective here $49 for a new customer is just about as cheap as it is ever been for Scaler 2. Even those of us that got it with the BF/Holiday sale last year then had to pay an upgrade price when v2 came out. Even with the generous loyalty discount the all in price was within a $ or so of this price. Don't remember the conversation rate at the time, but it was basically $29 + 20 give or take on the exchange rate. Doesn't seem like much of a "percent off" but the software already has a very reasonable everyday price for what it offers. Have you not given it a Demo?

+1 I think the interface could use a revision but find it very powerful/helpful and glad I picked it up on sale a while back. Pretty sure it was below these BF prices though.

Amazon prices do fluxuate. Right now it is $56 in the US for the MX500s. I can imagine the foreign market is a bit different. That drive around $60 is good, you can get it for less or more as it is a limited supply product. They fairly frequently go out of stock with that model. Pretty hefty price swing multiple times in a day, but I'd expect that fluxuation over a week or two from what I've seen historically.

His video for the giveaway announcement you can make out a dry/wet knob for a split second on the screen he is looking at. While that doesn't always mean reverb/delay.....I'm actually thinking you are likely on point.

Simon - if you only have one single IKM product...well sir, you are doing it wrong. Visit this forum more often. Things I've gotten for $5 or less over the last year just by visting this forum and making a purchase or jump through hoops to get the serial EQual Tape Echo Classic Clipper Amplitude SVX Amplitude Metal T-racks - ONE Black 76 Limiting Amplifier Model 670 Compressor Seriously all 2020....from this forum..... for under $20 total (digital magazine purchases in some instances), and at least half of them just plain free. And I'd also add IKM also has other free plugins/vsts that a deal isn't needed for. 2GIGs is a lot for one plugin certainly, but I think my post above suggests anyone getting in on just this deal is late to the party. What if I thought the same about the Model 670 COMP I got nearly a year ago, then the next and the next...and forfitted all of that becuase I didn't think it was worth it. Outside side of needing reverb, I could mix a whole track with those tools alone.
