I just noticed that the descriptions do not always align with the name. They are off by one starting with Amplitube 5 SE but seem to get back ok with the JCA100H. But there are other areas that are off, ex. arc3 software only, EQ73. Not a big deal and doesn't take away the usefulness of the spreadsheet.

Best bet is to look in custom shop. Search for X-Space in CS and you should see a green circled check mark showing you have it. If you do and it is not showing up in AT5, you should do a 'restore my purchases' in CS, that should do it. Individual pieces of gear do not show up in your list of products, only collections. One other thing, if your AT5 version is not 5.1.0 or greater it may not show up the X gear. The release notes for 5.1.0 states that X gear support was added. But be aware that for some people, myself included, the new version came at the cost of double cpu usage. IK support is aware of the problem, hopefully it will be fixed.

Wow! I'm impressed! ?

I kind of understand the question. I believed the new 'Amplitube X-Gear Pedals' where Amplitube effects put into an hardware pedal. You must admit the name suggest that. And certainly the name of the effects in these pedals, that correspond to some AT5 effects, suggest that too. So it is fair to think that you could reproduce the same sounds using effects in AT5 and that the pedals emulation would not be that useful if you already had everything in AT5. Easy mistake to make. But as @Peter - IK Multimedia puts it, they incorporate new algorithms. Or at least reworked algorithms. They must at least be based on some of the existing stuff a bit, as I am sure IK is building upon its extensive experience. So, if you think that these are different enough, then it is not 4 new plugins, but more like 64 new plugins you are getting since each incorporates 16 pedal variety! They are even nicer to get if you don't already have these effects in your AT5 arsenal. But you may also think, with all the effects you already have in AT5, these could be a bit superfluous. Scratch that, wrong forum! ?

I was just wondering what to do now that the spreadsheet did not reflect the current reality. Thanks, mucho appreciated!

All those listed + the 4 new X pedals

Yeah, really nice! Fuels the excitement for the GB!

Let us know how you like them when you have had time to play with them. ? Do they bring something new to the already extensive collection of stuff in AT5? I presume many of the preset in these pedals come from already available effects in AT5, no?

I just tried Saturator X this morning. Although some will argue that it is a totally different beast than the tape machines, I like it a lot! In tape mode it retains more of the high end and enhances it. It is much, much easier to use for someone not familiar with the inner workings of a tape machine and it is barely using any CPU. A winner for me!

I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date! We'll kind of. But let's not go down that rabbit hole! ?? It's just that it has been a few hours since the last freebie and I didn't post the update to the 'guess the number of freebies' yet! Ok, I have to cross some nice people from the list again! ? @kevin H along with the most helpful guy promoting this GB, @Peter - IK Multimedia! You have helped us all, thanks mate! Strangely enough, looking at the Tape Machines web page, I realize that although the model 80 is shown in the GUI as a 2 track machine it is modeled after a 24 track machine. Weird...
-
I have 24 and 80. They are a bit heavy on the cpu. This precludes doing something like putting 24 on every track and 80 on the master bus to simulate a complete setup. That would make the tape effect additive and more noticeable. I have tried both of these on the master bus only and the effect is pretty subtle if not driven hard enough. I guess you must know what you are doing with the controls (bias, tape speed, tape formulation, etc) to achieve the correct enhancing effect. If you have a powerful machine you may be able to get better result than I did. I didn't try Saturator X yet, but it seems easier to use. And as @Zargg mentioned it seems to sound very good. Since it's an older plugin, it's probably easier on the cpu too.

Yes, I know and I think its a great idea that IK include the MEMS in there so that it is useful more than just the setup of ARC. I don't own it though, I already had a measurement mic.
-
Nice idea, but if I run out of freebies and need to choose, I don't think this will make it then. Maybe next year GB! ?
-
Another quick question. Is the opto compressor worth getting if I already have the White 2A and the Comprexxor which has an opto mode?
-
Yep, worked for me.
-
Yep, I became an Orange amp convert when IK gave away the Tiny Terror. The Orange collection was one of my first freebie pick in the GB. ?
-
With all the freebies you have to play with, you expect to go anywhere with that car! ?

Is Mic Room plugin of any use if none of my microphones are in the list? I have a Rode NT1 and a pair of Lewitt 140 Air condensers. Any of the choices in Mic room close enough to make Mic room usable?

That's the look of someone who just received its free midi keyboard! ?
