  1. Using Windows Task Manager cpu usage %. I am doing my tests with the standalone version of LMC. What is asio meter?
  2. Very good point Zo. I did make sure in my test that it was the same configuration, but I have redone the tests with and without HD to see what difference it makes and if it is an avenue to save some cpu. From the numbers below (average I mentally made since the numbers vary) you can see a small gain if HD is disabled, but not as much as I would have expected. Without HD 1.0.3: 2% 1.1.1: 6.5% With HD 1.0.3: 3% 1.1.1: 7.2% I did not take readings, but with DDM off you have a very small difference, but nothing worth not using the feature.
  3. Sometimes I wonder, if digital would have been invented first and now we where just starting to get analog gear. Would people complain that analog is not as crisp as digital? That it introduces distortion that we didn't have before and therefore not as clean as we are used to? Is the human such a creature of habit and nostalgia that whatever it has been accustomed to for years is always better? Hum, I wonder... ?
  4. Yeah, but after you take out Peter's well deserved big bonus, how much is really left? ? But I think the calculation should be done with a more realistic average of $100 per entry when you factor in jam points and the gear credit route.
  5. I entered using AT5 at 199 (minus jam points, etc) and I picked full MODO drum, MODO bass, Sampletron and much more stuff that were 199 when logged in. I hope it answers your question Zo.
  6. Yep told you in the other thread a few weeks back! ?
  7. This is probably the only feature of v13 that I benefit from. But it is great! The Scheps Omni Channel benefits from being larger and the new graphics make a very nice improvement. Luckily I was still covered and didn't have to spend a dime to get it! The Scheps Omni Channel as got to be one of the best channel strip! Instead of trying to emulate too much old gear, it focuses on functionality, ease of use and giving you the tools you need. It is not restricting itself with how an old gear used to work, but instead it makes sure you have as much flexibility as is possible so you don't need to rely on your DAW's routing or special techniques to achieve what is needed. Highly recommended.
  8. I know what you mean and have tested on my i7 4790 different iteration of Amplitube. You can find my findings elsewhere on this forum, but in a nutshell, cpu usage has doubled twice. Once from AT4 to AT5 5.0.3, then another doubling from At5 5.0.3 to 5.1.0. I have made IK support aware of this and they are looking into it. I am ok and understand the jump in CPU usage from AT4 to AT5.0.3, it is a complete new beast and the changes are incredible. But I am not ok for the change between 5.03 and 5.1.0, where very little change for the user happened for so much cpu usage increase. You may want to voice your concern to support. The more input they have the better.
  9. I must say, I picked the right year to finally enter the group buy! I double dipped, once at 199 and once at 99. That will be 48 freebies in the end! ? Thanks IK! There is no other company's sales that comes even close to this! ? Truly the sale of the decade!
  10. Yep, 1904! Should take a few days, but will make it! This is the little group buy that could! Well, it started little, but with the number of freebies we are getting, its pretty darn big now!
  11. Yes and I will have to upgrade at some point because I intend to take Peter up on his great offer of free X-Gear! ?
  12. Thanks, we needed that! Makes us fell like we are in the old thread! ?
  13. Thanks for the input! I know my PC is aging fast, but I will live with it for a while. I own AT4 and still have it installed. It is 1/4 the cpu load than the current version of AT5, so yes it's a good solution. The other solution is to freeze tracks when I am done tweaking them. But for now, I am still using the versions prior to the cpu increase. For LMC that is quite fine. For AT5, I have the drawaback of not being able to use X-Gear, so I will upgrade AT5 at the end of the GB since I intend to get these. I just think it's in IK's best interest for them to check if there is something that can be optimised or not. The more efficient the plugins are the less support calls they get and the more satisfied their customers are. Not a waste of time. Remember that noting really fancy was added to these two products between the version that saw the increase in cpu. The fancy graphics and great sound was already there! I am not dissatisfied, I just feel something can probably be done about it and felt giving my input and findings was important.
  14. AT5 5.0.3 sounds as fine as the newer versions of AT5 for half the cpu load. But let's give IK some time to look into this.
  15. Nice interface indeed. Make sure your levels are set correctly in Cakewalk. If your master meter does not show audio in the at least-12db or upwards range, you may need to gain stage so that you have enough volume coming out of cakewalk into your interface.
  16. Are you using an external interface or the PC's sound card?
  17. X-Gear for sure, especially if you'r a guitar player. You will get more mileage than the tapes in my opinion. Plus X-Gear is worth $150 each, tapes only $100. I am also waiting till the end for my next few choices. I already have enough toys to play with for now. But X-Gear are 9n my short list. Thanks to Peter for getting those onboard. ? I did get a couple of the tapes and, although I am sure they are very authentic sounding, I am a bit at a loss trying to tweak them. I guess I am not knowledgeable enough in tape machines. I have had better success with the easier to use Saturation-X. Slamming one of the tape on my master bus and trying out presets did not create a wow effect for me. Putting Saturation-X with default settings on my master bus instantly made it clearer and added dimension. It probably depends on what type of music it is applied to. YMMV.
  18. I agree! Giving information that may help developers is one thing, judging them is another. After a long carreer in software development I know things are not as simple as they appear. Constructive feedback can help both the users and IK. If this is something that can be fixed, it reduces support calls, makes for a better user experience and increase sales. Everybody wins. Support has answered that they are looking into it, which is just fine by me. Let us just be patient. BTW, you are welcomed this side of the border anytime! ?
  19. Finally made it, after cranking the headphones volume high enough! Thanks guys!
  20. Yes you can! First create an account at FileSilo (https://www.filesilo.co.uk/), that is where the Computer Music mag download are hosted. Then you will have to unlock each issue using a word from a page of the mag to prove you own the mag before accessing all the goodies. Just make sure you bring a lot of patience when doing this. FileSilo is excruciatingly slow to respond!
