Yeah, I use the AD2 jazz brushes as well.

This is driving me batty - midi file issue

I suspect you have it sync'd. When you select play AD2 starts to play the selected pattern. -
Using Cakewalk on two different computer installations

I'm aware of that, but it's easier not to have to worry about a dongle and I don't feel like I'm missing anything. -
Using Cakewalk on two different computer installations
rsinger replied to Ricky Wayne Hunt's question in Q&A
I have a DAW and laptop and CbB and Live 11 and most plugins installed on both. Most plugins allow 2 installs, they just can't be run simultaneously. I only have a few wave plugins (since I need to buy 2 copies). -
Yeah. You can do Frippertronics type things with Boz Digital Labs Imperial Delay, but if you want it sync'd you have to calculate the time. It goes up to 10 seconds. For longer delay times Melda has Superlooper - I like that as well. Another is Expert Sleepers Augustus Loop.

Motu 4x4 keeps crashing; alternate interface recommendations?
rsinger replied to Thomas Happ's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Glad to hear it. I first tried a usb 3 port and when that was flakey, I tried a usb 2.0 and that worked for me - that's why I suggested it. I just do home recording, so I power my PCs down overnight. USB 3 is supposed to be backward compatible, I'm not sure what the problem was with my USB 3.0 port. -
The Art of MIDI Orchestration, by Jerry Gerber
rsinger replied to Jerry Gerber's topic in Production Techniques
I liked the article. As a guitarist I tend to think of recording, which is what I do, but I've been playing a bit with orchestration and after reading Jerry's article I see MIDI orchestration more like painting. -
Motu 4x4 keeps crashing; alternate interface recommendations?
rsinger replied to Thomas Happ's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Have you tried different usb ports? My M4 didn't like the first usb port I tried. If you have some usb 2.0 ports try those. I switched to a different one and it's been fine since. Another thing to check is the power settings and make sure that selective suspend is disabled on the usb port you're using. Also disable usb power management. I'd try trouble shooting before replacing it, I think it's a nice IF for the price. -
Motu 4x4 keeps crashing; alternate interface recommendations?

Is the MOTU new? I've been using a MOTU 4x4 without any problems for years. My DAW is Win10 though. -
Just within CbB for routing fx.
-
I've used it a bit inside CbB for routing fx and haven't run into any problems. That's a fairly limited use case.

I like the Celestion Speaker Shaper, it's my go to speaker emulator. I favor a 1x12 greenback or creamback in an open back cab so I use it a lot. If you like celestions I'd check it out. Two thumbs up. It has a lot of creative potential, but I haven't explored that ...

M-Audio expression pedal used with a MIDI adapter in Cakewalk?
rsinger replied to Sven's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
They should. As I guitarist I use this - The idea's the same. Look into how to program it, how to calibrate it, and so on. -
Arpeggiators play single notes in a chord. Any order, random? CbB has a built in arpeggiator and there are vsts as well.

I still have a PortaTwo. I used FSK to sync to Cakewalk using a Tascam MTS-30.
-
I agree and the Blue Tubes is where I discovered the Fairchild limiter as well as Pulteq EQs.

Have you optimized it for audio? https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/pc-optimization-guide-for-windows-10/ -
I don't understand. I still have an ADA MP-1. It's not a starved plated design. The tubes get 200v. My point is that the transformer for the tubes on a preamp doesn't have to be large. I'm not an ee, but I think the big iron on guitar amps is an output transformer to power the speakers. You don't have that on a preamp. FWIW.
-
If you like the sound that's what's important. IIRC the Chandler Tube Driver used a starved plate design and David Gilmour, Eric Johnson and others used it. The sounds the thing.
-
Just an FYI. Massive transformers aren't required for preamp tubes, note preamps like the ADA MP-1 that fit in a 1 rack slot. Today boost converters have become popular - it's not uncommon to see people boost a 9v wall wart up to the 200v range for preamp tubes. Boost converters are a type of switched mode power supply.

Even when I had a small drive I installed to C:\, but I moved the Cakewalk Projects folder to a different drive. Inside Edit - Preferences - Folder Locations set the path to match. Change the path to Audio Data to match as well. Most samplers I install to C:\, but install the sample libraries to a different drive.

OK, the documentation isn't very clear on what the USB B port does.

Do you have the audio output in CbB set to the PX-S1100? Do you have the input volume turned up on the keyboard?
