Hoping MS ditch that TMP thing. I guess it wouldn't bother to pay to keep W10 updated. W10 was free when it came out. If DAW developers start pushing for W11 as a minimum requirement a lot of my unnecessary buying will slow down. I will probably have to be more involved in learning Reaper if it comes that far. The developer that worries me will be NI. I'm getting more into if it aint broke even when it comes to OS updates. As hardware gets more advanced developers get more sloppy.

I seem to get everyone's Prime orders since they can't seem to read Unit numbers. I got these 2 packages recently that were not mine and Amazon's policy it to keep them. I called them and they would have a drive pick them up. I just left them on my patio for a week and never happened. What was missing was the Unit number for the street. It's a condo area and I didn't know the person's name. The packages were a bunch fiber optic cable connectors. Pretty useless for me. I would never order PC components from Amazon and I've heard New Egg has ruined it's reputation for sending used components. My last build was on 2020 and everything was fine from New Egg. Yet I don't trust them either. Usually I order drives from Best Buy since I go pick it up. It seems ordering boards and CPUs might be more of a risk these days. Best Buy (if they have it)>New Egg (never had issues)> Amazon (seems to large to effectively monitor quality control)

Not for me. If someone recommends something that I always fall for it. I just somehow need another string library despite using Arturia, Sylenth, and a whole lotta other synths. But at least the confusion is now greater if I want to do something with orchestra

Does anyone stop and think how far we go for something that is labeled free?

May not be wise to update. GUI changes are rarely good. From one user at Vi Control EDIT: After some digging - it appears that any library lacking a resource file called: NKS2_hardware_banner.webp Will not display a panel in K v8.7 So it's either hack one together (if that's your thing) or wait and see if you vendor ever makes one. It might be wise to go to NI's forum before installing any of their "updates".

This one doesn't suck. I still remember that had a TV show. I wonder if any classic channels show them

Edge, Firefox, Google I'm not talking about security but functionality. I still use Firefox because it still have those menus on top. Google ditched those menu and not allowed addons to to that. Download Them All is a great Fire Fox extension. I also use Roboform which means you can't use those other esoteric browsers. I imagine people used IE6 till they couldn't just based on layout. Developers have moved up on my no parachute on a plane list. Bill Maher''s video is an eye opener. Developers just have this warped view of functionality. They are like a home cleaning service that comes in an rearranges you house so you have to search just to find a fork. Extreme torture for me would being forced to use a browser on a phone. Developers are treating desktops users as a dying breed. The #1 rule in needed to be taken outside the city stoned is when developers have to mess with the GUI, they can't leave it alone. When DAW developers do that they ether revert or made a good compromise. (see Reason 13) People still use Kontakt 6 because that's one less click to make K8 easier. Who ever thought that when iTunes came out that our DAWs in plugins are becoming like that.

Only install VST3 and deleting is easier. Their install manager is one of the few that are obedient to user settings.

Godfather III is the worst movie I've seen
kitekrazy1 replied to LouHela's topic in The Coffee House
The last Stars Wars with Hamill was the last movie for me I think. The one is Star Wars bad and they went downhill. People have to mess with tradition. I never saw any of the Godfather movies either -
Solid State Logic - The Installation Manager insanity Goes On
kitekrazy1 replied to CSistine's topic in Deals
NI's has it's share of Mac woes. What you are missing out here is freedom of choice. Often the issue is with the installer. I've deleted everything UAD because their app runs in System startup. Plus it's apples and oranges when it comes to sample libraries. Then there a those who archive their purchases and don't want to download again. Once again it's about leaving the end user with choice -
Solid State Logic - The Installation Manager insanity Goes On

This thread should be in the coffee house. I could break the net about how stupid tech is in every industry. I pretty much despise most developers. That attitude is mostly outside the DAW world. Browsers basically suck in the desktop environment. If all of these ideas are to reduce piracy I think it encourages it. -
