CbB might get a last update to this release. It is in the 2023.09 release topic.

? I dont see why there should be a reason thoigh. Its just in the way. What sparked this request - on Monday when I was doing 40sec clip/song for a tv ad, I played around with the Pro Channel after many moons. Even when its off, if you move it above other effects on the channel it affects the sound/tone/character or colors the tracks. Which is strange. I havent used any of the pro channel effects in like 3 years. The module is removed from my default empty template. So this surprised me a bit. This is why I love my finish touches to my studio. It is little to dead at times, but it just bring my monitors to life, but sounds overly clinical too. This is perfect for pop and rock, but with my main genres of Hiphop and EDM, Its sometimes bad. ? I just love this room now.

Right click and remove Pro EQ would still be a better option which I prefer instead of altering ini.files. or what ever text files that needs altering. Thats asking for trouble in the long run. They can leave it for CbB but a remove option is best. Altering files is the reason why so many users have issues. They see something on the forum and do it, then when an update is available they think Cakewalk is broken, but forget that they had alter a TXT or Ini file that got overwritten with the update. So now new users comes on the forum and see theres problems with Cakewalk and stays away from the DAW. So its best for Sonar to avoid these issues with its new Sonar release and just bake it into the DAW - period.
-
To remove it would be best.

Request for Sonar to have more envelope shapes such as: Sine, Wave, Square, Triangle, Whole steps, half steps, quater steps, 16th steps added to its list. Also: • Ability to remove the EQ module from the channel. • K-System with Gain Reduction to its meters. • Color scheme background between Mono and Stereo Meters. (This will only be to the meter display box.) • Pop up window to ask if you want to split a sample with drag and drop on insert. (Also to be saved as a setting to always split or once-off.) . Im requesting these for more flexiblity for us Hip Hop and EDM producers.

You first start by finding the Tempo of the performance in the DAW. I cant stress enough how important this will be with your entire project. Finding the tempo does not only counts for the editing, but also for everything you'll be doing after you synced everything together. Finding the correct tempo will align the project to your grid, so you your metronomewith your drums or bass guitar for this. From here everything else will be a "CAKEWALK."

Do you have Next installed on your system? Of yes, remove it completely and reinstall CbB and try again. I only had to remove Next without doing a reinstall of CbB, but im just throwing it out there.

Its a sad world! Ever since Tom Hanks made Pinocchio and kept him as a puppet at the end, nothing has worked right anymore.- 1 reply

Stupid Question: Can this be bind as a shortcut? I'm lazy to grab the laptop to check for this, because I missed a lot of the RWC23 in France so now im trying catch up on some highlights. ?
-
You might have a faulty disk. My issues where my projects load long was always with a plugin. I had since deleted that effect permanently. You can test this by pressing the bypass shortcut for effects with the lettet "E" on your keyboard, save the project and reopen it in that state with all your effect bypassed. If it is a favorite synth: make a copy of the project and just replace the the synth with any other one save that project and reopen it again until you find the culprit.

We've all had this issue before. I certainly have at least twice.

True. I think Mark will be up any moment now.

They are back! ?

Just remember you do get ghost peaks as well and It wont be audible until you do your processing. Even when recording at levels of -18dB you get ghost peaks that hangs around at -3dB or -6dB. Its the flaw of the digital age, Your levels might look spot on with the Daws meters, but within the plugin it will show something different.
-
Dont sweat it. No I mean after you have recorded the vocal with the tamed effect on. You first record the wet vocal where you tamed the peaks and harsh SUBTLE is key here. Aim for a gain reduction between 0.0db and -0.5dB of compression and print that to the actual vocal. You dont want to squash the vocal going in. Then, do the actual compression to get the vocal to sit right in the mix with additional compression IF needed.
-
Yes it will. You will have both Dry and wet Vocals. Just make sure to Arm both. I normally dont need the Dry vocals when i do it. I tweak my effects while the artist do test runs. The trick is to create extra headroom with the compressor while uou let autotune run in the background on the arm track. So what you get is a partially tamed vocal. The goal is to only tame the peaks of the singer. Ydont want to compress here. Just tame those harsh frequencies with a Deesser or EQ and tame the peaks with a vocal compressor. I normally target for anything between 0.0dB to -0.5dB gain reduction.
-
Yep there is. I record my artists or snares with effect to tame the peaks. Step 1: Create your recording track. Step 2: Add your desired effects and tweak them to taste. Step 3: Add an extra Audio Track>Go to the newly created tracks Input and create a NEW PATCH POINT. Step 4: Go to your recorded track and sent that to the New Patch Point. Step: 5 Arm Patch track and start recording.

Velocity indicates how hard the key was struck when the note was played, which usually corresponds to the note's loudness.

In the console view highlight the tracks you want to adjust the volume to. Hold down Ctrl and move a slider on one of the highlighted tracks.
