or does the guitar just lack some "presence"? Is it just me or do the "snaps" just not seem in the same space? (having some "issues' with my tinnitus, I must admit) Love the tune btw. t I am hearing the squeaks just fine (despite the "ringing" in my ears). I've become a big fan of the D'Addario "Flat Tops" for acoustic and "Half Rounds" on my electrics. They do have a sort of "played in" tone, if you prefer that "just changed" brightness, you lose a little of that...

Welcome back Cotter, er ah; Bub! Actually the forum has been remarkably (scarily?) well behaved (especially in light of the times). t
-
Favorite Beatles cut, Tax Man but I do always wonder if Paul's guitar work was a little nod to Sounds Raga-esque to me..... t that said, favorite Beatle? Ringo hands down

There are a number of members of the forum you know you can count on for well written, well performed submissions. Allan ranks among them... t

Here's the link https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=14176078 t Gave me a little vertigo there at the start. This is a clean mix Jesse. Don't know if I'm "Penny" as well; inquiring minds... ?

Just Jesse’s eloquent sense of humour! ? https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=14176078 Fixed!

?'s t love that kick

?'s from me. You got the TTS kit sounding really good mark. And, most importantly, you nailed Wilsey's Wicked Game tone. t I'd disable the Drive channel on my Fifty if I could get that tone consistently... Played the tune for the wife, she's got that look in her eye again.... ?

The new mix is up? What Nigel heard at 1:17 & 1:19 (and I'm hearing more thru the track) are moments where the guitar is suddenly "spread" or perhaps its a delay? panned wide? It is a bit disconcerting as it hits for a moment and then is gone, I'm hearing it better now, so I guess I'm hearing the new mix? t DDB, you should have a moment of silence at the beginning of the track, and "button tight" endings are fine, but the track needs a moment of silence on both ends...
-
Concentrate on that! Perhaps my droll humor didn't translate? t

? That's a rabbit hole... You are braver than I. ? t
-
If 3-6db is a "bit", I would agree ? Its "buried" in the mix. Don't know if this was the power of "suggestion" or if it was something in the guitar track, I thought I heard some artifacts in the guitar track later as well. Once the guitar level is solved, that might explain it... Good on you both for the collaboration, ?'s for that for sure. So I'll hold the like for the final mix. t
-
Why limit your market; I can see this as a cue for lots of things Not really disagreeing with Nigel, but with the guitar pulled up (maybe more than "just a bit"), the bass might be fine. Listening on the DT990's. Your tune, your production, you get to make the decisions; no problem.... t oh ?'s with your kind permission, I'll hold the "like" for the re-mix with the guitar up ?

@mark skinner bind it to Alt+E or Ctrl+E, otherwise "E" on the keyboard will drive ya nuts. Remember when "O" put you in "Offset" mode, or "A" engaged the audio snap (maybe it still does? I "nuked" long ago...) t you can thank me later ?

Errors, errors, and more errors...
DeeringAmps replied to Diana Chahine's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
First check "Power" settings in Windows. Go with the "High Performance" option; you don't want Windows powering down your USB ports. I guarantee this Will Not Work. Delete that immediately! Use the M-Audio drivers ASIO drivers. Forget WASAPI (although the Bakers say it works fine, but I do believe its more for using the onboard audio) Looks like the AIR wants to see (and should) a 1/4" jack on the "Cans". Your headphones are 1/8"? get a 1/4" adapter, probably "cheap" on Amazon; or a good set of "pro" cans. then Report back... tom -
You got me Zargg, I turned up the volume on the intro, thinking "I was kinda expecting a bit more oomph". And then it hit! ?'s t
-
I'm trying to wrap my head around you artistically jack. This is interesting, especially the breakdown section. Again, hoping you're taking some "artistic" license with the lyrics and not being completely autobiographical. That aside, I think you've captured the tracks better, I'm not hearing what I call "digititus" (digital overs distortion). Mix seems "cleaner" overall. t if I may, you're delivering a lot of lyrics here and to my ear it gets in the way of the meter. Now its your song, your production; sometimes finding a way to convey the message with fewer syllables goes a long way to make it flow melodically (though if that gets in the way of your story...). Just my nickel98's worth, so take it with a grain of salt!

Sorry Zargg, I need one more app like a case of... (you get the picture). I've complained often about the BandLab app making the casual listener "log in" to listen. again sorry man... t

That drum breakdown at 1:4? is KILLER, and the bass that follows ?'s! The whole tune, as always, first class... t and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that kick drum, plenty of oomph and that nice defining top snap. Oh yeah
-
Getting a good drum track is a time consuming process for those of us who are NOT drummers. Personally I have a small fortune invested in EZD and Superior 3 and lots of Toon's midi packs. Even with the enhanced search functions in both, its a nerve wracking process trying to get it right. t
-
I'll second (third?) that... I see hear that. t
-
Played with a lot of those, sorry to say..... t
-
The "bones" are here, I'd vary the drums a bit; correct me if I'm wrong, its a loop right? I get that, keep us posted... t
-
There's some timing issues, I think, in a couple spots. Mix wise a little judicious eq would clean up a little mud here and there. If I were mixing (and this a purely "taste" thing), a little ambiance on the guitars. t

As always Makke a big ?'s from me... t
