Damn, should have paid in Pounds! Unless my calculator is wrong, I paid 14.83 each. Always pay in Pounds when using points, but I was below 1000, so I used $'s; not below 1000 anymore... t

Best SSD drive ( Spec ) for Audio work?
DeeringAmps replied to aidan o driscoll's topic in Computer Systems
I like the Samsung EVO's, (I have several) also have a WD Blue SSD in one rig. Haven't used SSD for audio; yet. May put a WD Blue in (for audio) next time I have the Cat in for a CbB update... t -

Key change mid-song? #musicrelated #sensible
DeeringAmps replied to SteveStrummerUK's topic in The Coffee House
There are no rules. Remember, “music theory” is the way those of us in “awe” explain what those that amaze us are doing. t -

In fairness MOTU has a good reputation and their pricing appears to be substantially less than RME. I just took a look over to Sweetwater and kind of did an "apples to apples" comparison. I've been in the RME camp (UFX and BabyFace here) for a long time (bought both before the "newer" versions were available). I can see where someone looking to upgrade their I/O would take a good hard look at MOTU. I use and know RME, so I'm comfortable recommending same... t Anybody have the RME ARC controller? I hate when I adjust something in TotalMix and forget to "click" in Cake again and lose "focus". Remember, when I start Record or Playback, I'm using the 1884 transport ?, not the moose ?

Yes they do, but I do believe originally they were more Mac oriented; IIRC. And again this was back in the MIDI sequencer days. Although as I said the MIDI Express I had worked fine in Windows. For some reason I remember a story about MOTU and Cakewalk staff having a softball game and the losers (motu) having to write some code? Maybe? And I want to say that’s where the notion that MOTU (in those days) was more Mac oriented? Maybe someone will set me straight... t <disclaimer>I’m a guitarist of a “certain” age, sometimes I have trouble keeping these old stories straight, or not </disclaimer>
