Melodyne 5 with Cakewalk Sonar isn't smooth...
Glenn Stanton replied to Jaime Ramírez's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
what windows settings are you using to scale to 95%? my display settings only let me go from 100% - 500%... -
pretty sure auto-lock straps are illegal in 15 states in the US. ?
-
it is interesting. there are 9 beats but the thick marker lines do show every 2 beats instead of 3...

understood, i've never seen a "shuffle" type of function. so on the few times i need to chop up a bunch of audio and re-group it, i just spend some quality time with the mouse and "S" to split it up, select them, and then ripple edit... it would be nice to have something to compact the remaining audio though. and hopefully someone will come along shortly and point out something that will be more automated... ?

thanks. fixed it. looking forward to the new version. i have the Slate version of TH-U

Reference Guide and Help for Making the Transition to Sonar
Glenn Stanton replied to aleo's topic in Feedback Loop
on the transition - the installation took all [most?] of my CW settings - VST plugin paths, INI settings for audio, etc. it also created a number of new folders in the C:\Program Files\Cakewalk directory, C:\Users\<YOUR NAME>\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Sonar, and C:\Cakewalk Content Sonar and sub folders i copied over my Pro Channel presets in the content folder and i copied over my project templates and remmed out the stock ones and moved them into an "old" folder. -- also articulation maps, CAL scripts need to be copied. there are likely some others i should copy over but i haven't been impacted yet. note that updates will "restore" project templates so plan on cleaning those up again (if you have your own custom ones). very painless (for me) one cool thing - the plugin scan in Sonar also updates the CW list (not sure if they're sharing the same plugin registry or not) -
if you had the previous version: Cakewalk by Bandlab TH3 -- that does work in both CW and Sonar. it may have been licensed during the older SPLAT days.

VST and VSTi are not recognized after upgrading to the latest version of Windows 11
Glenn Stanton replied to jinchul kang's question in Q&A
the only ones you likely need are the ones i shared previously. the others are typically application program folders and not the plugins necessarily. so maybe start simply - remove the list and start with the shorter one. -
VST and VSTi are not recognized after upgrading to the latest version of Windows 11
Glenn Stanton replied to jinchul kang's question in Q&A
what paths are you using for your plugins? most commonly used: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VSTPlugins C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2 C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VSTPlugins and then there are the "builtin" ones for DX and MIDI FX. these are not VST plugins. Sonar is working fine on Windows 11. CW is working on Windows 11. Next is working on Windows 11. my guess is something in your Windows 11 configuration is not correct or you do not have your plugin paths set correctly. CW and Sonar will not look at the NI directory unless you add the path to your plugins, although the NI installation typically will put the VST and VST3 plugins into the commonly used one listed above. -
MOVEMENT/ASSIGNMENT OF VALUES ON THE CONSOLE
Glenn Stanton replied to Milton Sica's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
that's strange as i use Ctrl-V a lot and it's always worked in Sonar as well as CW. V by itself would be something very different... -
is there any associated hardware device you need connected? re-registered with the OS / PC? i'm presuming you're using native UA vs the HW UA plugins?
-
coolio idea. what would be nice if perhaps as part of the plugin scan, it can generate a cached thumbnail (like 512x512 pixels so it's readable even on high res screens) and store it in a subdirectory of the plugin folder it was found in: C:\Program Files\<my plugin location folder>\thumbnails then hovering over the plugin name in the plugin browser, or plugin selection list, would (after a second or so) popup.

yeah the simplest way for me has always been create it via the synth rack and select the mutiple outputs. then you have the MIDI track w/ synth and the outputs mapped to each one.
-
essentially each track is mono or stereo. so i can select the number outputs and assign them without having to do the separate audio + instrument setup. then assign a MIDI track as needed.
-
did you check to see if somehow they got added to the "excluded" plugins list?

Computer upgrade seems useless
Glenn Stanton replied to Cobus Prinsloo's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
don't uninstall it, disable in your device manager. otherwise it will reinstall itself. RealTek drivers can be like a, erm, certain kind of painful itch that doesn't go away just because the redness disappears. just sayin' for a friend... ahem, -
still working for me. even with the .vst3 extension... ? maybe try a re-install and make sure you have proper permissions on the plugin folder as well as perhaps using run as admin in the install? sometimes user level installs into program file folders don't always behave as expected - MS at it's best trying to secure your desktop from you... ?

just offering ideas. i mainly use automation after the fact and mostly draw the things i want. so if i've got solos, etc, then i'm performing them and then as part of the mix or sound design, using FX and automation. if i have a live FX track, i can re-amp from the clean raw track. i think you have to stop recording to add the snapshot? so turn on the write auomation and then adjusting as you play? dunno.
