  1. I have an Orion 32+ and I asked Antelope support about this a couple years ago. I forget the technical reason they gave for the difference in the display but the bottom line was to just ignore it. When the clock display shows "USB" it is still using the internal (Oven) clock. In addition, the clock source will have no effect on latency. For lower round trip latency, get a thunderbolt card. With USB the lowest I can set the buffer is 128 and that is with small projects. With thunderbolt I can set the buffer at 64 and still run a fairly large project. For me that is all just experimental. My front end is all analog so I don't care about latency. I leave the buffer at 512 and run all the channels and FX that I want. However, round trip latency should have no bearing on the latency of the hardware FX in your Goliath. My interface does not have the guitar FX that the Goliath has but it does have some fantastic sounding EQ's and Compressors. So if I run a Bass through a channel on the Orion with comp and EQ and then blend it with the direct signal in my analog mixer there is a very small delay. This just the nature of digital audio. The higher the sample rate is the less noticeable the delay will be.
  2. From Wikipedia "In the 24-hour time notation, the day begins at midnight, 00:00, and the last minute of the day begins at 23:59. Where convenient, the notation 24:00 may also be used to refer to midnight at the end of a given date[5] — that is, 24:00 of one day is the same time as 00:00 of the following day."
  3. I know less than nothing about coding. But I can only assume that there is a technical limitation that prevents this because people have been asking for negative measures since Cakewalk was MIDI only. The Bakers have answered those requests with silence. So how can someone like me know if it's a technical limitation or something else? When the Olympics start, watch any timed race. The clock starts at 0.00, not 1.00. Even the absolute time counter in Cakewalk starts at 00.00.00.00. There are countless musical compositions that begin with a pickup measure. But none of that is the real point. I started recording with analog tape back in the 70's. Leaving a few seconds of blank leader tape was standard practice. It is the way I still work today. It is part of my "workflow" (I don't know why but that word really annoys me). The ability to place the measure 1 downbeat at any point in the timeline would make my work easier. Even better would be the ability to place new downbeats for multiple songs in the same project; just like a reel of tape. When I switched over to ADAT's, the BRC would display (and transmit) relative MIDI song position for any song in it's memory regardless of the playback position of the tape. I would like to have that ability in Cakewalk. I support all FR's even if I don't think it would benefit me. We all work differently. But this one tops my list. When Meng first rescued us he asked people to send in their top five FR's. Negative measures was the only one I could think of.
  4. If you want a SS clip that overlaps the first one do the following. 1.Open up the Take Lanes on the track. 2. Create a new lane. 3. Unselect All (Cntrl+Shift+A) and right click in the new lane- View- Step Sequencer. After creating the new Step Sequencer clip it will be on top of the previous lane (BUG?) so you will likely want to Shift-Drag it back to the lane that it belongs on. If you just want a new SS clip later on the same lane, just Unselect All before right clicking the lane. Edit- Forget all of that. I've been experimenting. Set the Now time where you want the new SS clip to start. Unselect All then right click in the Track anywhere after the existing clips (Right clicking a clip always selects it) - View-Step Sequencer. This will create a new lane with the new clip in the lane it belongs in.
  5. You can reassign it. They changed it because many people complained.
  6. I'm with you on this. A midi track can input from all ports but it can only output to one. Why??? Even if the solution is a native midi loop, I would be happy enough. I use LoopBe for something in nearly every project. It seems like something that should be a part of any DAW.
  7. Okay I can duplicate your problem now. Audio or Midi tracks work properly. Instrument tracks however (as your video shows) don't. For me it is only after opening the Console View. I see you beat me to it
  8. I see you are assigning the mutes to an already existing group. What happens if you assign them to a New Group? It's working correctly for me but I used a New Group.
  9. This is similar to how I've been doing it. One of you guys much smarter than me suggested this method on the old forum (probably you or Anderton). Except that I use the Control Group function and only set up the remote control on one of the grouped tracks. The midi track behaves like an automated VCA but the offsets available in Control Groups still work.
  10. This does work. The problem is when you want to edit the envelope you have to edit them all.
  11. How many times is Noel going to have to point out Offline Activation.
  12. This forum is actually for the Window based DAW Cakewalk. But I will take a stab at answering your question as I have been experimenting with Bandlab myself. Yes, multi-track recording is possible but you need an Android compatible interface. The phone/tablet itself is limiting you to only one input. Perhaps there are Android devices that allow using both inputs but none of mine do.
  13. After I upgraded to W10 I was one of those who battled against the update monster. It seemed I was spending as much time tweaking the system as I was making music. About two years ago I surrendered. Now I only defer updates for a month and turn automatic update back on before that month is over so that the update happens when I want it to. Since then I have not had a Windows update break anything other than turning on power management for USB hubs.
  14. Just installed it. Offset is working correctly. Current projects are working but they are relatively light FX wise. I will try a heavier project later tonight. Thanks
  15. Why care? I'm not aware of anything that Roli makes that I consider "Professional". Cakewalk has been getting the job done for me since it came on floppy disks. I'm not going to be negative about other DAWs (I have owned and worked with several others) because they are all AWESOME. When I first started recording, cut and paste was done with a razor blade and Scotch Tape. All of the DAWs available today can do things that were impossible to do even in a million dollar facility back in the day. I like them all but am partial to Cakewalk; not because it's free but because it is most comfortable for me. I think the work that The Bakers have done with Cakewalk since it was acquired by Bandlab is remarkable. It gets better practically every day. So as long as the owner is happy and continues to distribute it I will keep using Cakewalk. And I will continue to not care how it is perceived by the "Professionals".
  16. Sorry for the OT but a couple of months ago I bought a new Standard 60's LP ( built in Dec 2020). It is far and away the best guitar I've ever played. So I have to agree. New is better.
  17. Recordings all lining up properly here. Thanks Noel. Fine Job as always. This, however, I can partially confirm. Anything in the project notes pane in a Cakewalk project will upload to the notes pane in Bandlab. Bandlab project notes don't seem to be downloading to CbB anywhere. Not even the Lyrics View here. Please don't lose any sleep over that.
  18. I have been experimenting with this. I was wrong. I got used to doing this my own way for years and maybe this has to do with the new Tempo Track but for me, Set Measure/Beat at Now is working as you expect it to. I'm using version 2021.04 build 147. I put exactly three minutes of pink noise in a track in an otherwise empty project. Then I set Measure 100 at the 3 minute mark. Then I randomly set measures in between 1 and 100 at different places. No matter how many changes I put in measure 100 remained at the 3 minute mark.
  19. If I am reading your OP correctly you are using "Set Measure /Beat at Now" to make your tempo map. In Cakewalk you cannot use that tool to work backwards. Any tempo change you make in the middle of a project is going to move measure lines downstream. "Set Measure Beat at Now" is very accurate if you patiently work from the start to the end. "Fit Improvisation" can be quicker but be sure to line your midi notes up accurately first. "Audio Snap" is too fiddly. Use that to line audio clips up with a grid; not to line the grid up to the audio.
  20. Use "Set Measure/Beat at now" which is in the "Project" menu. If your music is syncopated at all, doing this manually is going to get better results. Keep in mind that CbB doesn't have negative measures so if your downbeat is not at the very beginning of the project you should mark the first downbeat as measure 2 (or 3 or 4 ...).
  21. I copied the following from the 2021.04 release notes. Maybe this could be the problem. "Optimizations High resolution plug-in automation improvements Plug-in automation envelopes were previously being decimated at a uniform 50 msec interval. The automation rendering process has been redesigned to render at a much higher resolution of (default = 5 msec) and also make automation sample accurate (for VST3). For VST2 (or VST3 plug-ins that do not support sample accurate automation) the rendering will be buffer accurate. These improvements allows for much tighter sync when automating plug-in parameters synced to rhythm even at higher latencies. The higher resolution rendering also makes automating filter sweeps audibly smoother and without aliasing artifacts. The decimation interval can be changed via the audio configuration property AutomationDecimationMsec (2-30) in preferences."
  22. Yep. Same here. If punch is set one sample past zero it lines up perfectly. But Punch from zero is late. FWIW this would never affect me. I always start recording at measure two or later. .... Is this a bad place to whine about not having negative measures? ...

    about 'tempo track'.

Go to Preferences-File- Initialization File. In the "Option" box add the following line. TempoImportErrorThreshold In the 'Value" box enter the number 0. Hit Set - OK. That will load old projects without changing the Tempo Map. You should also look at the TempoMapDecimationResolution. This defaults to 1/16th note. This is all discussed in the 2021.04 Feedback Thread. As for tempo mapping fermatas .. Do it however sounds right to you.
  24. The Tempo Map Decimation Resolution. I can't decide whether to put that on the band name list or in the project startup affirmations list.
