  1. Marillion - Three Boats Down From The Candy
  2. Copy protection... For what it's worth, I bought the (no copy protection) XILS 3 LE and love it, and I've had bought the full fat verison if it hadn't needed iLok.
  3. Yes but...a beefier power supply can run cooler and quieter. I've got a low power system in the grand scheme of things, but a fanless 600+W PSU. I went for that much wattage not because I need it, but because it is silent and very efficient, hence cheaper to run in the long, er, run.
  4. Good to see the late great Mr Turner brought into this.
  5. I see what you did there...and to save everyone else... Blue Oyster Cult - Fallen Angel
  6. Radical Dance Faction - Next Man in Europe

    Clip Envelopes

Or click Middle Mouse button when in the right hand pane for the HUD with the Edit Filter in. And remember shift-right click in the right hand pane toggles your edit filter status between the last 2 states (so quick to get back to clips).
  8. Thanks (especially for the guitar comparison - unintentional on my part!). I think I'm always wary of cranking individual tracks too much...
  9. Command prompt is much easier (ignore quote mark else the editor converts it to an emoji!): "C: cd \ dir /s plugin.vst3
  10. Think of it as basically a UI indicator - behind the scenes, even with one clip and you've never touched that button, there's still a track lane, sitting there, minding its own business, holding the clip. I'd argue that it's poor UI having a button change state to indicate you've pressed it once at some stage in your life, but it doesn't really mean anything, so ignore it and don't worry about there being actualised track lanes in existenc; there always were, you just didn't know about it.
  11. Thin Lizzy - Dancing in the Moonlight (and links to *Fats* Domino too!)
  12. And if it's just for vocals, why not get a dedicated vocal processor (eg. Digitech used to do one called Vocalist)?
  13. Er...vision???? ? Basically, I've got a bunch of tracks and I've been incredibly guilty of sitting on them and not completing them or putting them out there, so I'm finishing things rather than agonising over every last detail. I get a great deal of satisfaction from the writing and playing, and as long as some people enjoy them, that's great - nice feedback is always appreciated too, of course. I also feel that by just doing more tracks, I learn more about writing, playing and mixing techniques, which is a nice thing too. I'm always interested in other people's opinions on mix decisions: I've been doing a lot of the mixing, for practical reasons, on new headphones I'm not that used to and my PC's monitor (through HDMI), so the balance is not always as good as it could be. Thanks for the positive reply!
