  1. It's really the apps, where the UI can vary so much - compare Gmail app with Outlook app for example and how message selection works. Or where send icons are in different messaging apps. Like it or not, Apple has enforced some UI guidelines which makes it much easier for Jo/an User to move between different apps with little difficulty.
  2. That is true - it was all I could suggest with the internal tools.
  3. 2 ways of bypassing a plug-in is potentially confusing. Why not do this: - If VST3 plugin has bypass as a parameter (do all of them? I'm not sure), then always use VST3 bypass in both FX bin and plugin window, and sync them - If not, or a VST2/DX plugin, then mimic the VST3 bypass button in the plugin window and have it sync with the bypass widget in the FX bin
  4. I'm not an Apple fan by any means (I find MacOS clunky in the extreme), but when you compare an iPhone/iPad UI to the cluster.... that is the Android ecosystem's UI, I'd say they've got a lot right. Mind you, my work provides me with an Android phone, so I'm not persuaded enough by the UI to forego a free phone ?
  5. Not sure how well this would work, but could you use the velocity MFX with a chance of velocity hitting zero?
  6. Hold Ctrl down as you left click on a note in Event List.
  7. Ah - you're right. I thought it was in VEGAS too, not just Sound Forge. Sorry! There is a VST grovel timeout in my version, but I don't know what that does (apart from seeming to be set to 20000ms).
  8. Or loose/dodgy cable - I had that once with a SCSI drive (remember them?) and it caused all sorts of problems.
  9. Any options in the Intel video driver control panel/taskbar app (it used to have one - it may not now) that look like it might affect anything? Not sure what, but if you can screenshot any options pages you have there, one of us here may have an idea...
  10. You can disable this: - Hold down shift while opening Preferences - Navigate to the previously hidden Internal tab - Search for "grovel" - Change the values for VST and DirectX to false - Click OK and restart and enjoy
  11. Exactly - it's all quantum. USB connectors are spin 1/2 objects ?
  12. Have you never heard of many-worlds quantum theory? These are just standards from different universes ?
  13. The browser already shows this by colour.
  14. I did something funky with groups that enabled me to switch between outputs using a single click rather than having to change the output drop-down. A bit of a pain to get working (and I gave up with it in the end) but nifty if it works well for you.
  15. And Melodyne 5 doesn't have a 32 bit version, so if you still need a 32 bit version, you're out of luck if you upgrade to 5.
  16. Not that surprising- I doubt the 32 bit "core" has changed in later revisions of the CPUs, whereas the 64 bit piece is what they're focussing on, so changes are more likely to be made (and I assume it's an unintentional breakage!).
  17. Ah...I guess it waits on the router as it might be having just a blip, so doesn't want to say fail immediately. How about a ping to a known IP (that is ICMP enabled) so DNS is taken out of the equation too? Google DNS maybe? 4.4.4.4 and 8.8.8.8 from memory (internal DNS cache obviously :-)).
  18. I thought it might be something like that...Windows (and Android for that matter) definitely gets confused with odd networking!
  19. I think you will find you'll lose existing preferences if you do switch, but don't quote me on that.
  20. There are a few cases where this can help (eg. Pentagon I, old Cakewalk plugin, either needs registry permissions tweaked or CbB to be run as admin) but precious few. Applications should (for the past >10 years) be written to *not* need administrator privileges, so may actually work worse when run like this (not crash, but behave unexpectely - drag and drop, default folder access and so on). And it would make debugging more confusing as most people wouldn't (shouldn't!) be running as admin. Use admin via UAC when you absolutely need to, not as a matter of course.
  21. I loved my U110 - kind of wish I hadn't got rid of it (space aside that is!).
