  1. By the way, I hadn't checked out Vital until this thread - cracking soft-synth.
  2. Not sure why some of the 64 bits are coming out as VST3 and some as VST2. Not a big deal, mind. There are also 64 bit betas of most(?) of the other plugins available - all seem stable, although I haven't hammered them hard.
  3. They're wav files - you can see from the screenshot in the filename box. Media FIle is just what file explorer shows in these cases; here's an mp3 I just popped in a zip file: File extension mp3, but explorer reports MP3 Format Sound file.
  4. The only way you get that screenshot in Windows file explorer is if you're looking at files in a zip archive. Extract them from the zip,
  5. I am hugely right-favouring - I can't even work out how to hold a pen with my left hand, let alone write with one. Except for one thing which I did left-handed without thinking and can't work out how to do it right-handed. Don't worry - it's family friendly. Archery. Why!!?? It's so completely random and illogical.
  6. I also occasionally get this with my MOTU (ASIO/fixed 44.1KHz rate). I just need to turn it off and on again and it's fine. There are no cable issues, but sometimes it just doesn't seem to sync up right (I'm thinking like John's sample rate issue, but inside the driver/firmware/hardware) and it needs a power cycle. An older driver might work better, but it happens so infrequently, I don't worry about it.
  7. They are actually ones I've added (I assumed Ctrl-F4 was there by default as it's the standard for closing tabs in an MDI application), but they do work once so added (when docked into the multidock). I think I probably added them because it annoyed me I couldn't close them easily! Annoyingly, you need to add them to every view that you're going to dock. To be honest, it doesn't annoy me so much now as I've got workspace(s) set up to not dock anything except the views I really want docked, so I don't use the shortcuts now. And it doesn't annoy me as much as Melodyne always appearing in the multidock, irrespective of the state you left it in.
  8. Ah - headers. There's a few extra pixels below the actual header that also turns the cursor into the copy one - I keep hitting that (which is why I aim for the lower half) ?
  9. Cursor needs to be in bottom half of clip or it starts to drag-copy - this always gets me and I swear at the computer until I remember!
  10. Skylight (name for Cakewalk UI since some version of SONAR), not Silverlight (thankfully they never used that abomination!).
  11. Check the template is being saved in the right folder (ie. then the "wrong" one will be loaded when you open from a template) - there was a bug where it wasn't (not sure if it's been fixed).
  12. I'll be a dissenting voice: Cakewalk is often seen as having a cluttered interface, and adding buttons or similar in order to make as many(?) functions as possible immediately accesisble isn't going to help this.
  13. Tell me about it - I can't get my head around how this is meant to work (and "healing" clips often results in more splits elsewhere, leading to an even bigger morass).
  14. An *****-ist, surely?
  15. You can force it (if you have an older SONAR .chm file, which won't be up-to-date) by adding: UseOnlyOfflineHelp=1 to the registry at: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Core
  16. It's not in a colour preset only is it?
  17. Try disabling 64 bit audio engine on export if you have been ticking it - a handful of plugins don't seem to like it being set.
  18. No - they are 64 bit instruments. Full VST Reset?
