MODO Month - Up to 70% off MODO BASS and MODO DRUM
chris.r replied to Peter - IK Multimedia's topic in Deals
Thanks, that's exactly what I see here since v1. Maybe I wrongly assumed it was already reported a million times, LOL. -
If anyone know what is 'next TR holiday' please enlighten me ?

It's 7/07! Today you can grab the 707 From Mars for just $7.07 The 707 is a classic, sample-based drum machine from 1985 and continues to prove itself as one of the hardest hitting machines around. Plus, our 707 is modified with knobs that control the sample rate of each voice, allowing us to multi-sample a huge amount of twisted tones and tunings. AND we sampled it through the SP for added 12 bit grit. The deal will run until the next TR holiday ? LEARN MORE Enjoy ! Teddy Samples From Mars

MODO Month - Up to 70% off MODO BASS and MODO DRUM

Hi Pete, thanks for reply. You actually got me thinking now that I'm the only one with this issue. For whatever reason I thought everyone has got it, I think I've even seen it on one of youtube walkthrough videos and the guy had the same issue. Each time a new update has been released I was downloading and installing the whole gigabytes shebang with one belief that it's finally fixed, LOL. Now I now I should report to the support so I will. Thx -
MODO Month - Up to 70% off MODO BASS and MODO DRUM

I asked in the other thread but nobody seems to answer there. Are the Windows' MODO Drums' preset buttons fixed yet in the new update? -
What does it mean or where I can find more explanation on this? I just bought full Kontakt so I'm still new to it.
-
Are these dreadful preset up/down buttons finally fixed in windows version? thx

Buying an instrument more for it's history than a real need. Now that's a true deals forum spirit! ?

Loving that sampler track, very slick and efficient.

Ah yes the offline method, of course. I actually was among those who was asking for it long time. I forgot about it cause it is what it is, I mean, you would want to activate stuff offline and just have it done right? Not this time, it will work but then you'll have to repeat it every 6 months, which is, well not a huge, but still a bummer.
-
Cubase is eLicenser based so until that changes it will run just fine (I'm buying Elements now that there is a sale on upgrades at Steinberg). Have no idea about Studio One but Cakewalk will stop working and enter demo mode roughly after 6 months being offline and you will have to go online to unlock it eventually. Cloud based plugins and DAWs, like Reason, won't run offline at all, though I've read there is some additional 'driver' that you can install to run Reason offline but it will still need to call home every few weeks, sort of like what Roland Cloud is today. So there you go... the future likes 'online'.

I'll take my chance as they used to be very responsive in my experience. You could be right though.
-
I'll write to them asking why they wouldn't allow us have it second time, they don't loose anything. You could write them too if you feel like that, so there would be more of us.

Correction it's 1473 now
-
Corrected to to 1365... Corrected to 1366

Anyone of you guys having a solid opinion on these cuba and middle east libraries? If I'd want to do cuban or middle eastern music and wanted good sound for it, are these really good or just average? Any good suggestions from other makers (preferably keeping it possibly low price range)? Thx

And almost five days left! Do you start seeing the light on the other end?

Interestingly my desktop has got exactly the same 6gen i7 6700 as in the article but it is not clear for me (from a quick read) whether it allows for Win11 or not. From what I get it could be possible but the security might be compromised. ? Not that I'm losing any sleep because of Win11. I'm already disappointed enough with Win10 after switching from Win7 and Win11 doesn't appear to be any better. I upgraded solely for compatibility reasons and, well a bit more cpu power but really all the rest, like time regularly wasted on windows upgrades and fixing broken software, peace of mind etc. is my loss. And now they want me to spend more money... I don't think so.

Yeah I should have added 'natively', in all that's what we want - our DAWs doing the dull staff for us, right? I'm only starting exploring the whole articulations thing, at this point I wouldn't know yet where to start if going to configure the articulation to not touch the keyswitches already being there nor the ones added in future.
-
I always used Cakewalk's Process/Transpose functions (and sometimes CAL) to actually reassign the MIDI notes to new values or just manually dragging selections around in the Piano Roll view, never messed with Kontakt's transpose functions (actually never even thought about actually transposing the pitches in Kontakt). After awhile I started putting MIDI data like key switching, program changes, Automation (volume, panning, etc.) on a separate track so I could mute it if needed or to aid in trouble shooting WSH (weird shit happening) or unplanned instrument changes (artist: I don't really like that flute can you make that a trumpet/sax/synth?) wrecking carefully crafted automation. That discussion led me to an idea that the Cakewalk's articulations transpose function (MIDI transform) should avoid transposing to any note that has already an articulation assigned. Or do we have it already implemented?

Not exactly. I upgraded about 2 years ago and been mostly disappointed since. Didn't notice it's more "snappy" most users praised it, I had never problem with keeping my Win7 snappy for about 10 years, and XP for another 10 before, this was surely up to user because I've experienced many of my friends XPs sluggish beyond sense. Yes, when's Win10 working it's fine, but just for another couple months before something breaks with another feature update, I just had it broken and see now there's another big one waiting. Mind you this is on almost fresh install and I'm using it only for music purpose, not fiddling with settings either to keep it default. I could turn off upgrading but I decided to do it solely for compatibility reasons but really starting loosing the point. Pretty sure Win11 won't be any better. YMMV
