Drum Loops from Bandlab have warped tempos, how do I fix it?
chris.r replied to Arthur H's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
?yep, I was thinking the same, either trimming tool or bounce to clip? I'd like to try it myself, can anyone point me to where I can find that loop, please for me sometimes it was enough to just slip edit a loop and then turn it to the groove clip -
That's an interesting one, will check it out, thanks! I've been on a lookout for R-Bass alternative way too long now ?.
-
And what is your alternative for R-Bass? AFAiK there are no alternatives for it. The ones considered as an alternative do sound too much different to me.
-
That's a progress. I always thought it's still on alpha.

I'd like to stay offline with my music production machine all the time but now, with the new Windows 10 system it's not an option anymore. With their feature updates every 6 months they may eventually break old ways of working for some programs and then the developers have to adjust with their software updates to make things rolling again. So, you either stay offline on an older Windows version and won't be able to update other programs or you risk breaking compatibility - like Cakewalk is constantly being updated and maintained but officially requires the most recent Windows 10 version - or you're spending way too much time updating all your software every week and sometimes fighting issues from it instead of just doing music. Bad choice.

Remember there is no more VST2 licensing available for new plugins so one can only keep his VST2 stuff until it will eventually get discontinued, that's a fact. The future must be VST3 regardless.

How can I stop Cakewalk outsmarting the user at MIDI export ?

Ooooh I so with there was a lever in TTSSEQ.INI... (!)? -
My son is having music tech in his school where they teach how to operate Cubase and Ableton Live yet the teacher asked lately to create bandlab accounts and I was like whaat? I remember seeing only Macs in the class room there when I was last time about 2 years ago but now he says they've swapped to Windows.

that's my second nature

Should be a standard feature in Cakewalk's bandlab integration before long.
-
Started considering myself lucky that I missed out the upgrade to Chromaphone 3 Although I completely appreciate the upgraded sound of the new version and the soundbanks and I find it worth upgrading once past the issues.

Reads like the best supplement for the most paranoid ones.

I had been downloading the whole Sampletank library recently and it was 260GB for me for the whole she-bang.
-
From my correspondence with uJam, the reasoning for it was that Cakewalk is Windows only. Period.
-
200GB for just 2-3 SD3 kits?! ? What are they doing with so much storage? They don't keep spare cables there, do they...
-
This was my experience with Synthmaster recently. I had to quickly develop a new habit to check if all instances sound the way they should each time on project load. Reloading solved the problem.

some of my friends are so tech resistant that if you ask them to 'take the mouse' they'll prepare a cage and get some fodder yet they are great singers... no, seriously I'd prefer them to simply cut a vocal track on their phones and invite me to collaboration on bandlab, that's much more feasible having dedicated forum here could be a bonus just need to think out how to avoid confusion with the DAW names

Like taking the snake oil orally?

MODO Bass is a good one defo. MODO Drums is getting more and more use here also.

How do I snap an audio clip to precisely fit my tempo beats?
chris.r replied to Arthur H's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
that tells me your global on/off for SNAP is still off.. click that big SNAP button up on your control bar so it goes lit (in Cakewalk you can turn off snap completely for a free hand) -

Arthur, you definitely need to watch some @Xel Ohh youtube tutorials on this... try searching for "loops cakewalk" or "beats cakewalk" -
How do I snap an audio clip to precisely fit my tempo beats?

it does happen in Sonar and it is even much more flexible you can snap to the grid and many type of landmarks and there are settings where you can set it the way you like it in detail you can snap by any given amount of measures, ticks, samples etc. you can only imagine you can even set it to Smart Grid where Cakewalk will set the time resolution for you automatically depending on your workflow John Vere is right, it takes watching some tutorials/reading a bit manual and you'll be at home with it -

Short answer: set Snap to Grid to 8th note and Snap To.
