In Windows 10, I had all my programs organized in groups on the main start screen page. Now there is no organization and it looks like an iPhone. All my standalone synths were well organized, now I have to dig in the all apps menu for them.
Using search works, but in my mind takes away the benefit of a visual organization scheme.
I've always used desktop folders and/or Fences to do that.
Supposedly you can export Win 10 start menu groups into Win 11
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/import-export-fix-start-menu-layout-windows-10
but I haven't tried it.I do miss the Windows 10 toolbars. There are free apps in the store that people say can replace this functionality but haven't yet checked them out.

Just fix the start menu they broke.
It took a little while to get use to it but at this point I actually prefer the Win 11 version.
They fixed the search function so when you search for something it searches for apps first, web options 2nd.
Something I always considered badly broken in W10.
You can still search through the program menus by clicking on the "All apps >" button at the top right.
In regards with the right click menu not fully expanding - you can get the Win10 functionality by:-
Open an elevated CMD window.
-
Copy the following command below and paste it in and then press Enter.
reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve
- Log out of your account and log back in, you’ll find that the old right-click context menu is back, which displays the full list of options directly.

The Steven,
Are you cloning your drive or are you performing a fresh install onto the 2TB drive?
I'll be cloning it.
Samsung has free cloning software at their website

Just got my 2TB! ?
Hopefully I have time to install it tonight.-

$180.49 for 2TB model - cheapest price I've seen it go for...
You want capacity, blazing speed and something built like a tank - this is it.
Now just wish I had the spare change to get it...Edit: my bad I was thinking this was the Pro version...

I've see the Pro version go for cheaper than the Prime cost

Any opinions on the Crucial M.2 NVMe SSD drives, such as this one? It's $42 as a Prime Day deal.
https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-500GB-NAND-NVMe-2400MB/dp/B086BGWNY8/ref=sr_1_4
I have always used Samsung SSD without issues, so am reluctant to switch brands just for a deal.
I've always considered 500GB drives** of any kind a bad investment, more so for SSDs.
Spend the extra couple of bucks and get at least a 1TB, you'll be glad you did.**with the exception of thumb drives

Thanks, I grabbed one.

This update fixed an issue where one of my libraries would always say Optimize but Optimization would always fail...

It'd be a better company if it wasn't adopting iLok
Meh... beg to differ.
I'm setting up a new(ish) computer and the iLok plugins (I use the iLok3 dongle) were the least problematic thing I had to deal with.
Turns out I had a flakey SSD hard drive that always passed diagnostics but the OS would gradually get corrupted - the last one lasted for almost 3 weeks before suddenly going south and becoming unbootable.
I ended up installing Windows multiple times (at least 5) in the course of dealing with this and had to contact multiple plugin developers because I had burned through my allowable authorizations.
Also not having to deal with all the various authorization/licensing schemes was a joy.
The one exception that comes to mind is Softube - with their clunky installer that won't remember your password & other issues using iLok doesn't help things.-

It's funny how a lot of the good stuff rarely, if ever, goes on sale...

Last major update & current installer version: 2022.03.21 (trial & full version)QuoteMagnus Lidström 22 Mar15:40
We are happy to announce that updates are available for all of our commercial products (Microtonic, Synplant, Bitspeek, Permut8, and Echobode).Besides bug fixes and improved compatibility with the latest Windows and macOS versions, all plugins now have native support for "Apple Silicon".
To update, simply download and run the multi-installer from our download page.
Notice that the Mac updates require macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or later.
Finally, Microtonic now officially supports "alternative skins", and if you own Microtonic you can download a package containing 11 new looks for your favorite virtual drum machine.
Have fun and never stop making music!

I always like to check out a company's forum , if they have one, to see how they respond to inquiries or issues.
Is it totally user supported or does the dev or company participate?
https://soniccharge.com/forum/
The dev personally responses to a lot of stuff.-

VC 2A sold as a standalone for $99 (or as part of a combo with the VC 76 & VC160) and was included as part of the Komplete Ultimate collections 8 and higher and Komplete CE 12 & 13.
Just noticed @mister_tea said the same things...

Also picked up the Friedman DS-40
Note: If your total is more than $75 the $25 off coupon does work...-

Do you happen to own more of theirs, or what region are you browsing from, because I see most of their gems all as €79.00?
Just change currency from Euros to Dollars...
I'm in USA and for some reason their site always defaults to Euros. Odd that it's not even the equivalent value, maybe they're adding in VAT.-

So there's only one Gem for $49, it's the EQ550...
The rest are $79 and up.... Kind of a bummer
Except for Voice & TapeDesk I'm seeing most of the rest @ $69
The 20% discount takes that down to $55.20Voice & TapeDesk going for $89 (before 20% coupon)

If it helps, they do offer a 20% discount on GEMs if you already have another GEM; check your account for the code
Coupons code invalid on sales items...Code does work for additional discount - your just need to make sure the website doesn't log you out between changing pages...

I've just start checking it out.
My big question is integrating it with either Music or Video with a logical workflow.
Maybe I'm wrong but I'm not seeing things like:
* SMPTE support or support for video editors like Premiere.
* Support for DAWS - no support for VST or other plugins or rewire support.
I posted my questions on the Sound Particle forum and got an answer:QuoteHi Steven, thank you for your questions! We hope you're enjoying the trial version (and a reminder that the full license is now 50% off with our Summer Sale!).
To answer your questions:
Sound Particles is a standalone app. You cannot use it as a plugin on a Digital Audio Workstation or a Video Editor. To be able to work on your video or on your sound, you need to import it to Sound Particles - as you would do to any other DAW or video editor - and work directly in it. Then, you can export the result and import it back to your DAW or video editor.
In regards to the plugins, they don't currently work in conjunction with Sound Particles (they were released after Sound Particles was) at the moment, but we're diligently working to make that happen Thank you for buying the plugins, we hope you're enjoying them! Feel free to give us your feedback regarding the plugins and also how your experience goes with Sound Particles!
While this info makes me a little less enthusiastic it doesn't totally kill my interest.
It does knock it down from a no-brainer to the this could still be useful territory.
I'm hoping that I can find some time to play with it this weekend. -

is it already the default NA? Or is officially still just for Komplete Now subscribers?
Per NI "It's also now possible to manage your KOMPLETE NOW subscription from Native Access 2."
v2 has filters that can come in handy (Applications, Instruments, Effects, etc.)but no support for legacy stuff.
I have a bunch of legacy stuff and don't subscribe to Komplete Now so I'm still fine with v1.x for now.

Enough.
There I've said it.
I'm not going down this path unless 8dio gives me a no or looow cost reason to abandon their Kontakt line and free up that disk space.
Sure it has some nice demos but so do a lot of other libraries that I've not invested in.
