  1. Duck 1.3 is our biggest Duck update yet. We’ve added three features that make Duck the most powerful sidechain tool on the market: Groups, MIDI Filtering and Band Soloing.

Learn more about each new feature below.

    Groups

    • Add any Ducks to a group (A, B, C or D), and edit their curve shapes simultaneously. Change the feel of the pump throughout a project without flapping around!

    MIDI Filtering

    • Filter incoming MIDI so that only a select range of notes trigger Duck. This is great for ducking bass against a kick drum when the kick’s MIDI is part of a larger MIDI drum track.

    Band Soloing

    • Duck always had band splitting to pump your low and high bands differently, but now you can solo each band to fine-tune exactly where you want the crossover to lie.

good timing ...I have a new PC that I need to optimize after I install new SSD's and RAM upgrades...

    or not...
As the 3rd article explains many optimization tweaks are based on XP era hardware.

  3. Sonible plugin updates...

Just discovered there are updates to all my Sonibile plugins except Balancer.

Based on installer exe date looks like Freiraum was updated around March 9, 2022.   The dates on the other vary.
Here's a list of the PC installers with their version numbers.

    • Sonible_smartcomp_win_1.1.4.zip
    • Sonible_smartEQ2_win_1.2.1 .zip
    • Sonible_smarteq3_win_1.1.3.zip
    • Sonible_smartlimit_win_1.0.2.zip
    • Sonible_smartreverb_win_1.0.0.zip
    • Sonible_balancer_win_1.0.3.zip

I only checked a couple but the MAC versions appear to match the PC versions.

You might have used up your allotted space so go to your user profile settings “My Attachments” and delete some files to free up space.
It will show you your total use at the top

Didn't know that there was 48.83 MB attachment limit, thanks for info.

Curious to know. Been considering an external.  How do speeds of externals compare with an internal SATA SSD? No doubt the externals aren’t as fast as an NVMe m.2, right?

Internal is and probably always will be considerably faster.

Data transfer will go as fast as the slowest device or bus in the chain
    •    the source disk
    •    the interfaces over which the data is moving
    •    the destination disk

    External interface/connection types:

    Thunderbolt
    •    Thunderbolt 3 and 4 support speeds up to 40Gbps.
    •    Thunderbolt 2 supports speeds up to 20Gbps.

    USB-C
    •    USB 4 supports speeds up to 40Gbps.
    •    USB 3.1 supports speeds up to l0Gbps.

    USB-A
    •    USB 4 supports speeds up to 40Gbps.
    •    USB 3.1 supports speeds up to 10 Gbps.
    •    USB 3.0 supports speeds up to 5 Gbps.
    •    USB 2 supports speeds up to 480Mbps.
    •    USB1 supports speeds up to 12Mbps.

    Firewire (6 Gbps)

Any system that supports either USB 3.0 or higher can easily handle the 900 to 1025Mbps that the drives mention in this thread are capable of.
In actual situations, many of these max speeds are rarely achieved.

In terms of features, the switchable J/E/G EQ curves is a nice touch.

    I'm only seeing E/G curves...

From website - "You can switch between the legendary E-series and G-series EQ profiles for added flexibility."

The other part of the native plugins I love is the 360 mixer that comes along with it.

Not seeing the 360 as an included piece...
From what I see searching around the web it's free but requires hardware to work or am I missing something?

  8. Try the demo
    https://www.robpapen.com/Predator-3-demo.html
and make sure you like the synth.
6,000 presets mean nothing if you don't like the texture of its sound or if it has problems on your system.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong or lacking in Papen's synth or his presets.  Indeed Albino, one of his old endeavors (well 1/2 his), is still one of my favorites.
But presets counts only mean something if the selection is well curated as it's not hard for a programmer to whip up a random preset generator and create thousands of presets.

I tried. Could not add the coupon with the freebie in the cart.

Can only have PW in cart for code to work.
A freebie (not necessarily the one you think) will show up with your purchased items.

I could think of plenty of guitar gear for that price that doesn't rely on OS requirements or driver updates. As a wind player I could think of plenty of stuff.

Most guitar players have spent more than the price Seaboard Rise 2 on a single guitar let alone the cost of the gear it takes to use it or record it.

  12. So many questions.

    Among them...

    • Will the native plugins ONLY be available via subscription or will permanent licenses be available.
    • if you have native versions will you get free (or discounted) UAD versions - or vice versa.

and for the majority of this forum's membership.
    • When will permanent licenses be sold for $29

    Dang. Subscription. Smells like WUP.

Re: WUP - I always thought BARF would be a better acronym
    (Basic Audio Renewal Financing)
and it would match the taste left in your mouth after making a payment.

  14. and the subscription looks like a lite variation of Komplete Select.
You only get a partial subset of that library (with a couple different items included) but every month they will add something new. I guess that way they can probably string you along for several years before they run through the current content.

Like Adobe once your subscription ends you own nothing*.
*I could be wrong but that's how I'm interpreting the following quote from their  KOMPLETE-NOW web page:

    Quote

    What happens if I cancel?

    +

If you cancel during the trial period, you won’t be charged. There’s no commitment and you can cancel any time.

Once your paid subscription starts, you’re still free to cancel whenever you want. Since you’ll always pay in advance, your subscription will continue to be active until the current billing period expires.

Trials will also continue to work until the current cycle expires.
