Omnisphere has been a little funky for me the last couple years. When I open it and an update is available it will indicate it's up to date, but the next time I open it, it indicates that updates are available. Same thing just now. Now I have to remember to keep flow enabled ...

    ^^

The you run Omnisphere or Trillian (probably true for Keyscape as well) standalone versions they check for updates BUT you won't see that there's an update or get notified until the NEXT time you run them.  I.E. some table, file or registry entry gets updated after the load information is read.
Been this way on every computer I've owned that I had Spectrasonics installed on.
Willing to bet it's because they don't want to add even more of a lag to the time it takes the standalone to load.

I've complained to Spectrasonics about it but apparently there's not been enough user complaints to warrant their rewriting the startup code.

So I always run Omnisphere twice (because it checks for updates on the others as well) when checking for updates.

all good now, but no different than posts on S1, Cubase, Mixbus, etc, etc. updates.

Linux devs are big on the DIY aesthetic with a strong assumption of technical competence.

ya, you won't find them on TikTok

S1, Cubase, Mixbus aren't posting here directly.
If I subscribe to receiving update notices from a developer then knowledge of what is being referred to can be assumed.
If I'm posting information to people who may be unaware of what I'm talking about a bit of description is helpful.

2nd point is absurd.  Not being aware of a product has nothing to do with technical competence.

  3. Sorry - realize that my reply might come off as rude.
But you shouldn't have to follow a link just to find out if it's something that might interest you.
In this case the link posted is to an update page that still doesn't say what Ardour is until over a page length down (yeah you might guess it's a DAW but it also could be a sample manager).

Ardour is an open-source DAW supporting Linux, macOS and Windows.

They are IMO, simply the best sounding there is, especially so the Flanger, but be aware that it can't be used live/in real time

    ^^These are very good.
I tend to grab either these or the classic Eventides.

  7. It's pretty, but not impressed by demo video.
I expected to be wowed but instead after a couple seconds got bored.  Could be the demo or maybe it's not my jam.
Unfortunately just don't have time to play with it at the moment to determine true potential.
I'd be real interested to hear what others think of it or hear some ear opening examples...

Maybe they finally changed. I have licenses for some of their (Slate Digital, from the same Steven Slate) Virtual Mix Rack plugins that I bought 5 years ago. I just checked their website and found this statement:

The All Access Pass can be used with iLok Cloud and does not require an iLok USB dongle. You will just need an active internet connection to use iLok Cloud.

Perpetual "Buy Now" individual plugin licenses require an iLok 2 or iLok 3 USB dongle.

Key words here:  "All Access Pass can be used with iLok Cloud and does not require an iLok USB dongle"
So all else requires iLok dongle.

I found this picture of the XLN Audio team hard at work creating new Adpaks, Midi PAKS and XO expansions.

Wonder when this image was posted?
Interesting..  but odd photo montage created from multiple different images pasted on a background of Disney's Sleeping Beauty castle.
Castle image is probably from California park - my son says while there are multiple Disney Sleeping Castles at various parks no 2 castles are built the same.

According to https://careers.xlnaudio.com/people company currently has 29 or more employees.

I loaded up Z3ta the other day and got lost in the presets!! That thing still sounds great.

    ^^^
It is indeed a great, solid synth.
IMHO it more than holds its own when compared with most soft synths.

I think the main reason it doesn't get more love is that they stopped selling it.

If they ever brought it back to market and added MPE** support that would great but not holding my breathe.
**maybe I could do that with Unify.

The most recent version I can download is 2.2.0. I suspect that is because I have "KORG Collection - Legacy Bundle" and didn't upgrade to the latest version (that included the Triton, I think?).

    I have legacy and v2.31
Are you using Korg Software Pass to download/install it?

    It needs a longer name.

The Truly Wonderful yet Expensive Zynaptiq Adaptiverb Harmonic Tracking Resynthesis Reverb Plugin
    or the TWYEZAHTRRP.

I don't use this a lot (maybe I should grab it more often) but there's been a couple times when I wanted something wet but couldn't find a verb that worked how I wanted with the other instrumentation and it (Adaptiverb) did the trick.
