  1. Probably trying to leverage the marketing muscle of another company to reach new customers. Somewhat similar to PA having sales on plugins for developers not under their umbrella and possibly not joining their umbrella. You get new eyeballs checking out your stuff - a potential win for both companies.
  2. meh, unless they plan on doing away with copy protection altogether IMHO this is hardly a win. It'll be just another private authorization system** that I have to notate in my password safe just so I remember their particular flavoring and next time I rebuild my system I'll may have to do multiple authorizations for my UVI plugins instead of just the one iLok. On a new system I can download & install the iLok manager and I've got over 400 plugins authorized in less than 15 minutes total. **Probably they'll build their DRM into the UVI Portal app which might not be bad as long as you can mass authorize plugins.
  3. For those interested - HalfTime was update last month (in case you missed it) 1.1.8 - November 29, 2023 =================================== - New: Pro Tools Automation Menu support. In any DAW, hold Cmd-Ctrl-Option on Mac or Start-Ctrl-Alt on Windows to highlight all automatable parameters with a coloured dot. In Pro Tools, users can continue holding the modifiers and click a parameter to access the Pro Tools Automation Menu. - Fixed: Logic crashed when double-clicking L or R in Dual Mono mode.
  4. If someone has a duplicate of Sakura they would care to toss my way please PM me. Note entire deal on expires in 3 days (around noon on Dec 21st PST).
  5. Is that even an issue? Last I checked I've got iLok plugins working from companies that died years ago. Could just be that company no longer has access to new iLok registration codes. Details would be in the developers iLok licensing agreement but I have neither the desire or patience to dig it up and read it.

    FOMO

Are you happy /proficient with Cakewalk? Do you have the time to commit to learning another DAW? or is that time / effort going to be a creative distraction? Worse case of postponing purchasing another DAW maybe that you'll have to wait to next BF to catch similar sales.
  7. This will help you make up your mind - the Rebelle 7 discounts ended yesterday

  13. I just got Matt's email about his holiday sale (below). Like Luftrum he's known for being one of the best preset/library creators. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Unfinished Christmas Sale 2023 (40% off) The tree and lights are up, the cupboard is full of chocolate and the fridge is overflowing with exotic cheeses… it must be Christmas! As I continue to recuperate with my shoulder injury, my end of year release plans have been thrown slightly off-track but, that hasn’t hampered my preparations for my annual Christmas sale. Phew! Absolutely everything on the site is 40% off with the discount code: LFOHOHO. You can fill your boots between December 15th and 31st. So, even if Santa Claus disappoints this year, The Unfinished Christmas Sale won’t! Plus, there’ll be an added present in the form of a new free, Christmas-themed, soundset for Diva that I’m just finishing up. Keep your eyes peeled for that. Should go live on my site next week. Thanks for all the support this year, look after yourselves and have a chill end to 2023. All the best, Matt
  14. Maybe V4 will contain 40% more fiber because at this point I can't give a crap. Sorry but I've got smartfatigue - a condition caused by too many versions that cover the same ground, that are paid updates.
  15. I wish that they had some sound demos on their site but I guess the lack hasn't hurt their sales.
  16. TapeOp online magazine TAPE OP IS A BI-MONTHLY MAGAZINE DEVOTED TO THE ART OF MAKING RECORDS. An excellent free source of audio related information. With interviews, gear reviews, plugin reviews, a DIY section, etc.. For example some DIY projects in current issue: DIY Diffusors Build Your Own Spring Reverb DIY Reverb
  17. Tone Junkie capture sets up to 90% off TONE100 is used up, but I just scored with TONE90 (coupon works on entire cart). https://tonejunkiestore.com/ Can anyone recommend (as in having tried out) any particular ToneX captures?
  18. ^ Or there would have been charged for updates..
  19. May take a couple of hours to show up... Sometimes it's instantly there other times it can take a couple of hours. I think it depends on whether they've been pre-allotted license numbers or if they have to request them from developer. I know that for some companies the reseller has to manually log in and request codes (wonder if they have to pay for them at the same time, don't know).
  20. and now JRR Shop $57.96
  21. If I didn't have Pro 4 I would be taking a hard look at the tradeoffs (costs/benefits) before crossgrading too. For Pro 4 owners it looks like there are some decent improvements (though I haven't had time to test them and won't for a while), there hasn't been a paid update required in a while (FWIR) and the cost of upgrading is less than $60 - so I'm not whining too much, though I do wish it had full ARA support. Not that this is a benefit for current Pro 4 users but any future improvements are going to happening in the new version going forward so I want to buy in while it's cheaper to do so.
  22. FET upgrade is currently on sale (at the previously quoted $39) if you change your mind.
  23. Bought lots of stuff from EveryPlugin - never had an issue. That's where I'll buy my upgrade unless JR Shop ends up having a better deal. So far they haven't added it to their catalog.
  24. My price from Arturia for the upgrade: $149 for Mini V, Wurli V and Acid V. Mini V and Wurli V should both be free updates. Sick of every tweak being a chargeable new version. To hell with Arturia - unless I breakdown and buy some hardware (keyboard or such) they will not get another dime from me.
