The Great Shutdown - What have we learned?
TheSteven replied to mumpfucious's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
During the panic of 2017 I upgraded my Cubase Elements to a full version and upgraded my old Studio One v2; not that I planned on abandoning Sonar/Cakewalk but I wanted to be more multi-lingual DAW-wise and it gave me an excuse to make the acquisition. Unfortunately I haven't done much with either. It's just that with everything else that has hit my personal fan over the last year Currently I'm using Cakewalk, Image Line and Ableton. Cakewalk is my goto DAW, but I find that the different workflows of Image Line and Ableton help foster a different mode of creativity. -
Sale ends today Jan 30th.

If I had the $ I'd be jumping on this so hard I'd probably break my ankles. Unexpected home repairs have killed my audio budget for anything other than a minor no-brainer for at least the near future.

JRR's wording says "any advanced product" iZotope's web site says "Music Production Suite 2: upgrade from any Advanced product (including Vocal Chain Bundle)" So answeris Yes.

There is still the transfer fee... The fee structure is as follows: 1 plugin: $20 USD 2 plugins: $40 USD 3 or more plugins: $50 USD payable by the buyer. I'm not critiquing it, just noting it.

Don't know if Humble Bundle sent an email with a message about update but if so I missed it or ignored it. Thanks Matthew for the heads up! Currently downloading...

If you own any Advanced level iZotope product, you can take advantage of a different deal... Check out the link below. For $90 less you also get RX7, Vocalsynth2, Nectar3 and Insight2.

AudioVitamins : 40% off on all plugins except Life (98% off on that one) LIFE BEGINS AT 40!!! To celebrate my 40th birthday I’m giving away my plugin Life for only 40p. The phaser, ping pong delay, stereo widening, tremolo, chorus tool that can create subtle movement to all sorts crazy different effects, also works in mid-side mode for extra creativity, is on sale at this stupidly cheap price until the end of January!! Life is now only 40p, (£0.40) normally £25 thats a massive 98.4% off and everything else is 40% off https://www.audiovitamins.com/ Re: Life... https://www.audiovitamins.com/product/plugins/life/ Sometimes when we’re mixing or writing music, we are looking for something to give a track a little lift, other times we need to take a sample and give it a bit of sweetening, to make it fit properly with the rest of the mix. This is where Life stems from, being able to add a little bit of magic and movement to a track makes it come alive that little bit more. Need to double tracked guitars and want them to sound as if they were played separately without a standard delay or a uniformly applied pitch adjustment, Life can take a mono guitar and send it to both left and right, applying small amounts of pitch and amplitude modulations to make them sound uniquely recorded and more importantly filling up the mix. Checkout the video below for examples of what Life can do to samples and tracks.

Warning this version 0.25.0 (at least the 64bit version) did not work on my Windows 10 PC. Installed, uninstalled, reinstalled several time. Tried a variety of things (creating a new session, etc.) and no go. But previous version 0.24.1 works and reinstalling it, restored functionality. So unless you have a copy of an old installer you may want to hold off on this for the moment. Edit: After installing version 0.29.0 my Element stopped working. See next post on how to fix if you have same issue.

We had a couple of minutes of clarity here & there between clouds. I though it was pretty cool, but my 5 year old nephew was unimpressed; it was cold and there was 'too much waiting'. I wanted to bring my telescope but we were at a birthday party and there would have been no place to set it up. I forgot to grab my camera - here's what my iPhone thought of things...

https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/hornet-stereoview/ Note: To get the plugin you must share either on Twitter or Facebook. After having shared the page you'll be able to add the plugin to your cart for FREE HoRNet StereoView is a plugin designed to help you visualize the stereo image of your tracks. The design of the plugin is very straightforward and easy to understand since the interface is completely occupied by the “goniometer”: an X-Y graph that displays the intensity of the signal in the stereo field. StereoView allows you to change between two different views: the default, that we call “fireworks” that shows every sample as a straight line starting from the center, and the one we call “abstract” that connect each sample in the stereo field to the next one creating a continuous “wire”. Another useful feature of the interface is the ability to be rescaled at will so you can resize it to fill the right spot on your screen. A goniometer like HoRNet StereoView can be a very handy tool to directly see if your track have any anti-phase issue that may create problems when your track is played in mono, something that happens very often with mobile music listening today.

Woot! Just realized Omnisphere supports Korg's Monologue! I had assumed that it was not [insert favorite adjective here] enough for Spectrasonics to bother mapping it. I still have my old DX7ii with polyphonic aftertouch, I'd love it if Spectrasonics would add that to the list.

Arghhhhhh Eventide installers still do not remember the installation location. Lame. So for every plugin I still have to change the plugin installation folders. I've contacted Eventide about this previously and was told it's 'on our radar'. If this issue affects you consider contacting Eventide's support or posting a comment on their forum. https://www.eventideaudio.com/community/forum/plug-ins/ I tried creating a thread but it's still pending administrative review. I've created a thread and it's now live. https://www.eventideaudio.com/community/forum/plug-ins/latest-plugin-updates-windows-still-wrong If you use Eventide plugins and this is an issue for you please add your 2 cents.
