I'm looking forward to MIDI 2.0 but TBH with the way I work (and not doing anything live at the moment) I don't expect it to make much difference in my work. Wonder how long it will take various DAWs, MIDI instruments and plugins to comply with MIDI 2.0 once/if it becomes a standard? A lot of hardware companies will love this because it will give them a chance to resell you the v2 version of your audio interface or controller. By the same measure a lot of software companies will be upset because they'll have to shoehorn v2 features into their product(s) at some point within their annual update cycle to appear competitive.

Thanks, I thought I had looked thoroughly... Shame that per Steinberg:

> bandlab only recognizes plugins on C. No so, like almost every DAW out there you have to set the path where it scans to find your VST plugins. With Cakewalk you do this by Regarding > you can A) only install Bandlab on C If you had gone into Advanced install options when you installed the CbB you could have chosen the install location.

Looks like these also work with Groove Agent SE that comes with Cubase. Been trying to find out difference between Groove Agent & Groove Agent SE. Looks like only difference is SE version is bundled with Cubase and lacks upgrade options. Is this correct?

Depends on what you mean by simple or easy management . Once you start collecting a number of plugins or working with more that one DAW it can be more of a headache. Storing your plugins in a system folder complicates installing updates, backups and in some cases authorizations. This is the system that I currently use. It optimizes scanning, eliminates almost all dupes and it works across multiple DAWS. C:. ├───Audio │ ├───VST32 │ │ ├───32Main │ │ └───Has 64 bit version │ └───VST64 │ ├───64Main │ └───Has VST3 version For Cakewalk my scan path is: C:\Audio\VST32\32Main; C:\Audio\VST64\64Main C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 For other DAWS just select the appropriate paths.

https://www.audiodeluxe.com/products/audio-plug-ins/eventide-instant-phaser-mk-ii At AudioDeluxe $37 (See following posts for cheaper deals from other vendors) Own the First Studio Phaser Released in 1971, the Eventide Instant Phaser began the studio effects revolution by successfully simulating tape flanging, an effect that’s been at the core of legendary albums for the last five decades. Reminisce back to a phaser with analog personality, smooth modulations, and inherent musicality. Outfitted with a complete host of control options, the Instant Phaser Mk II is out of the rack and into your plugin arsenal. This new emulation of the classic effect accomplishes the same legendary sound notably used on hits like Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” and “Presence”. The capabilities have been expanded, and now you can even take your phaser on an excursion from the 70s far into the future with the delightfully characteristic “Age” knob. New Age, Old Age, and Everything in Between As hardware phase-shift networks get older, they don’t line up as well as they used to, revealing their analog character. The resulting effect is less exact, for tracks where imprecise nature is desired. While component drift and unintentional effects are usually omitted in hardware emulation, we’ve decided to put the ball in your court. For a phasing sound that’s straight out of the factory, set Age to 0%. To capture the sound of the same phaser 47 years later (present day), set Age to 25%. The remaining 75% allows you to discover the Instant Phaser among the wreckage of a dilapidated studio hundreds of years from now and check it out on your new single. Change the Feel, Switch the Mode The Instant Phaser Mk II offers three different sonic characteristics that change the amount of phase-shift sections, simply labeled “Shallow”, “Deep”, and “Wide”. When “Wide” is selected, the Instant Phaser Mk II gives you a different amount of phase-shifting on both right and left channels, resulting in a slightly different effect in each ear. You can use this to turn flat mono guitars into huge stereo leads, or make your single channel synthesizer fill out the sides of your mix. Different Ways to Phase The Instant Phaser allows four distinct methods to control the phasing: Manual allows precise automation of the phasing. Oscillator modulates the phasing at a constant rate that you decide. Envelope changes the phase whenever your signal passes the specified threshold. The plugin accepts a side chain input for this control method. Remote maps the phasing control to a modwheel for tactile manipulation. Features Add Age for component drift and electrical leakage in your phaser Offers three different flavors of phasing with the Mode switch: Shallow, Deep, and Wide Utilize one of four distinct methods to control the phasing Depth allows you to combine the phased signal with the dry signal Added Side Chain function allows you to trigger the Envelope Follower from a separate source in the mix for inter-track mingling Exercise total control of the Oscillator with Sync and Retrig controls Use Feedback control for a more pronounced sound Includes standard gain input and output

If you haven't checked out Precedence you should - at the moment it's my favorite spacial placement/manipulation plugin. Try the plugin or listen to the audio demos. It can add life / movement to a track without being overbearing or obnoxious. Also it can work with Breeze 2 to also control verb and image placement - at the moment the connection between the 2 is kinda wonky (i.e. manual connection required) but the upcoming Jan update is supposed to seamlessly link them . Just a reminder that this sale has a hard stop of Jan 19th (not sure if that means that sale runs until or through Saturday). The sale has already been extended once and 2cAudio says they won't extend it again. Also per creator 2cAudio: There's a huge thread about it on KVR Direct link to 2cAudio Precedence page (audio examples and demo download): https://2caudio.com/products/precedence#_Overview Note: If you're a first time 2cAudio customer I can get you a $20 referral discount (so example for Precedence that would be $59 instead of $79 ). Send me a PM - I'll need your full name and email address to plug into my 2cAudio account to make it work. Pardon the self promotion.

The 12 Tone/Roland/Gibson Cakewalk forum is dead, long live the Bandlab Cakewalk forum! It has been confirmed that the old forum breathes no more.. Aye, new posts shall never more land on that fair territory once so familiar and precious to us. Let us contemplate a moment on our fallen yet archived posts then raise a glass in toast to this new forum as we face to meet the future head on!

There will be a total lunar eclipse coming our way, beginning on Sunday, January 20 2019, and lasting into the 21st! The darkest shaded areas of the globe are where the entire eclipse is visible from start to finish. Moving outward from that region, portions of the eclipse are visible. Where can I see it? Totality of this lunar eclipse can be seen and experienced everywhere in the Western Hemisphere, as well as extreme Northern Asia, Ireland, England, and portions of France, Spain, and Scandinavia. When will this event be taking place? The eclipse will begins on January 21, 2019 at 0236 GMT and will end at 0748 GMT. For those who don’t want to convert GMT to our time zone(s), the eclipse will run from 9:30 p.m., on Sunday, January 20, 2019 until 2:45 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019, for those on US Eastern Standard Time. Why will this be happening? The moon will pass through the Earth’s shadow on the far side of the Sun. When that happens, the moon will appear red (what is known as a Blood Moon) and get very dark before emerging from the shadow on the other side. For more info check out: B&H Eclipse Info
