I think he is after a mid point marker for the PAN CC10 controller. The centre value for pan is a value of 63, not zero. If you open up the PRV and select CC10 in the controller lane, there is no horizontal line denoting the value of 63 - which is the centre value for CC10. To see what I mean, open up the PRV and select “Wheel” in the controller lane. That MIDI event lane does indeed have a horizontal line showing where the pitch bend value of zero is. This makes it a bit easier to insert Wheel = 0 events (You see a small dot where the event is if the value is zero). It would be handy if CC10s showed a horizontal line denoting a value of 63 - which is the centre value for CC10. What I have done is created a Studioware panel (using a very early version of Cakewalk) with CAL scripts attached that inserts default values for the most used controllers - of course, for CC10, it inserts a value of 63.

Sometime when I would like Cakewalk to implement something, I like to try and find work-a-rounds while I wait (which, sometimes, could be a while). I have written a few CAL scripts that help with my work flow. I have written one that shifts the selected controller event’s values so that the average of them is CC = 63. Of course, if applied to CC10 events, this CAL script makes the lowest value the same to the left as the right is to the right. If the script is run on a single selected CC10 value, it changes that value to 63 (which, of course is centred. Then I have another script then draws a line of CC values between the first and the last selected CC events, replacing what is in between with that line. I know CAL scripts have been officially depreciated in CbB, but they still come in handy to speed things up a little.

I do have the PRV track manager open all the time, and I do edit multiple tracks in the PRV at times. While I very much welcomed the improvements in the PRV workflow with CbB, sometimes it would be nice just to have a quick way (by means of a keypress) to access a track selector (like you can in the Staff and event list view) No biggie, but no harm in asking....

The version distributed with Sonar Platinum and Professional was Melodyne Essentials 2. This was eventually freely upgradeable to Melodyne Essentials 5.1.1.003 However, the version that is provided with Cakewalk by Bandlab is the 30 day trial of Melodyne Editor. I am not sure what functionality you are left with within Melodyne once this trial is over. I have Melodyne Assistant 5.1.1.003 so I can’t really check. What ever version comes with Cakewalk by Bandlab, can be upgraded to the latest version (Albeit, still the trial)

Can we please have a “Pick Track” in PRV in the same way that it's available in the Staff and event list view. Yes, I know we can use the track manager to the right in the PRV window, but sometimes it would be handle to just quickly use the “Pick Track” from the menu (or even a keybinding)

As a test, I dragged an audio clip to an existing MIDI track. The Melodyne menu appeared. I chose the “Melodic” algorithm. The converted MIDI events appeared in the MIDI track (and played the same notes that the audio contained) I also tried the “Percussive” algorithm. That also created the MIDI events (albeit on the same note). So , on my system (configured as per my signature) that worked as expected. I have Melodyne assistant 5.1.1.003 and the source audio clip I used was a monophonic.

I have ended up simply writing my own CAL scripts.... like a pitch bend triangle wave generator.....(actual pitch bend events that can be transformed later)....for example.

Keyboard shortcut works here (I use ALT + i) when a plugin has focus (I just tried it)...... and even if, with a particular plugin, it doesn't, there is always the custom console.
-
Until the Bakers add this, maybe these workarounds might help. Create a keyboard shortcut to Input Echo Or Assign "Input Echo" to a button on the custom console.

My PC is configured as per my signature and I have yet to have any issues with the BETA drivers. I use a non Firefox browser to access the Focusrite BETA site. Here is a direct link to the BETA driver (Use a non Firefox to download) http://beta.focusrite.com/file.php?id=1377

Just to confirm. Do you mean "select" a track, or give a track the focus (meaning marking a track as active by highlighting its name field) - they are two different things.

If you open the Event List View, is there nothing in there as well?

Changing Pro Q3 Preset by MIDI Program Change not working...
Promidi replied to Alex Red's topic in Instruments & Effects
You have not missed anything. Your steps are sound. I installed the trial version of Fabfilter Pro Q3 and I also could not get the VST3 version of Fabfilter Pro Q 3 to respond to program change MIDI events either. So I tried the VST2 version of Pro Q3, and that responded to program changes fine. This seems to be an issue with the VST3 version of Fabfilter and program changes as I tried another VST3 Equaliser that does indeed respond to program change MIDI events. -
This is why I include the C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 folder in a regular backup regime.

I don't understand. Pitch is frequency, BPM is Beats Per Minute (related to Tempo - or the rate at which the track is played)...... two unrelated things. If the import is a groove clip that the frequency might change, but is that what you want to achieve? You might have to rephrase the question. If I was to guess, maybe try converting the imported file into a groove clip. However, without a rephrased question or more information, we are just guessing.

Midi track to control an external digital mixer
Promidi replied to Fabio Barinotti's topic in Feedback Loop
You can also use the PRV and open up a Controller lane (Single lane mode works best) with the smart tool (or line tool) enabled. Holding down SHIFT while drawing produces a line of CC values. -

Focusrite does supply their own dedicated ASIO driver. Definitely ditch ASIO4ALL and use Focusrite’s.

"it takes a minutes to response"..... I have never had this issue with Cakewalk, ever Cakewalk is very snappy, even on my oldish PC (see signature for specs)

Console Strips colour no longer follows colour of Bus
Promidi replied to Mark Bastable's question in Q&A
One difference between in/out destination and Sends is that you can use sends to route the audio from the track to multiple destinations. If you have multiple different coloured buses as the multiple destinations, Cakewalk would not be able decide which colour to make the track. This diagram might explain the routing possibilities in Cakewalk: http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Mixing.07.html -
Console Strips colour no longer follows colour of Bus
Promidi replied to Mark Bastable's question in Q&A
I just tried it here (PC and CbB as per sig) and it works Just to confirm, are you directing the in/out to the bus or a send? Here, directing the in/out to the bus changes the colour of the directed track. The “Send to” does not change the colour of the track (never has I believe). -
My initial reply still applies - just substitute Controller with Pitch Wheel (the range changes from 0 to 127 to -8192 to 8191) I have written those CAL scripts for Pitch wheel events as well. I select two pitch bend events - the CAL scripts or generates (or replaces the events between) a straight line. This gives me a perfect glide every time. Another CAL script I have written for pitch bends is one that replaces the last of a group of selected pitch bend events with zero value. I got tired of overshooting the zero line when mouse drawing a series of pitch bend events. The CAL scripts just replaces the last pitch bend event with a zero value (preventing unintended slight detunes). The “Insert Series of Controllers” command also allows you to select Pitch Wheel events as well. The trick is, however, is getting the values right if they are not min or max. In my case, I just use my CAL scripts (with Studioware panels) - much easier for my workflow.

Controllers and velocities only have values between 0 and 127. Can you explain how you are getting values -2180 to 0 My specific workaround is to use CAL scripts to generate lines. I have one CAL script that draws a straight line between two controllers values, using the values as the start and end values (any controller values between get replaced with the line) One other CAL script generates a line that starts from 127 and ends in a value that I choose I have another CAL script that generates a line that starts from a value that I choose and ends in 127. I have written these scripts myself and are very specific to my workflow - they are not supplied with CbB I think, for you, a workaround might be to use the “Insert Series of Controllers” command under the “Insert” menu to generate a line. (make sure selection marker is set)

Me too.....(about the wait 'till BF part).... The discount might even be deeper then as well.....
