When a clip has a name assigned to it and the start of the clip is scrolled off the left side of the screen, name scrolls off with it. Is it possible that the name could remain visible at the top left of the visible part of the clip?

Install the latest drivers for all of your hardware (using manufacturer's websites rather than Windows updates) If that does not work, then give us some detailed PC specs and we might be able to tell you where to go from there.
-
Do you have latest drivers for the Focusrite 18i20 installed? In Cakewalk, what MIDI driver mode are you using (MME or UWP) Note: The Driver Mode setting can only be changed in Windows 10 and later, and when no projects are open. Have you tried connecting the Polybrute directly to the PC via Polybrute's built in USB port? Have you installed PolyBrute Connect? Are you using the latest PolyBrute Connect? https://www.arturia.com/support/downloads&manuals#polybrute-connect-1714186555

Well, regardless, when I performed a reset without the subsequent scan (on a non production PC) , it cleared the VST plugin inventory in the registry and in Cakewalk (This manifest on a Cakewalk exit and restart) So, in my mind, the user guide and the reset dialogue box prevails. I am going to continue to mention the scan with the reset. We are just going to have to agree to disagree on this one.
-
Is that in the CbB manual (if so, link?) or is that one of those things you either know or you don’t? Further more, when you do click the RESET button, the dialogue that appears clearly states: “This will reset the configuration settings for all your VST plug-ins to defaults.VST plug-ins will be unavailable until a VST scan is performed” So, in light of what is in the CbB user guide, and the textual contents of this dialogue box, I will continue to recommend a VST Scan after the VST reset.
-
I could not find where, in the CbB manual, that it says a scan is automatically performed as part of the reset. If this was the case, I would expect it to be here: http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=0x22B07 Yet the word “RESET” only occurs once on that page. Scrolling down, I see the following statement: “Reset. Click this button to remove all scanning records and settings from all your VST plug-ins. Use this button if you want to completely start over” It does not say that a scan is performed with the reset. Maybe I am not looking in the right place.....

Have you tried a RESET then rescan?

I temporarily loaded SAFEcompressor (64 bit) as a test. While the SAFEcompressor did not freeze on my system, the GUI did take a while to come up. (though it did look like it was going to crash) With the many alternatives available, with the issues I encountered with my brief test, I would be giving this plugin a wide birth. Even Cakewalk by Bandlab itself has built in compressors in the prochannel that would do the job. If you like the GUI feedback of that SAFEcompressor provides, Meldaproduction’s MCompressor may also be a suitable alternative as well. https://www.meldaproduction.com/MCompressor

I have had this exact USB to MIDI converter for many years to drive a Yamaha SW1000XG (circa 1999) card via its 5 pin din connectors This has worked flawlessly since - with every iteration of Cakewalk up to CbB 2012, Build 102 The audio out of the SW1000XG is connected to my mixer via two of the Mixers channels (Two mono channels for stereo out). If I want, I can also route this signal back into Cakewalk via a Focusrite 2i2 inputs. Remember, the USB to MIDI converter carries data only. If the audio out of the Korg is not connected to anything (mixer or amp), you will not hear anything. Of course, you need to make sure the MIDI receive channel of the Korg matches the channel that your MIDI events are transmitted on.

I also get the same result as the OP However, a workaround I have found it to bind SHIFT+END to the following CAL Script: (do (= Thru End) ) This works even if the PRV has focus and does not select tracks not in focus. Granted, not ideal as you have to have at least one note selected for this to work.

I have never used Windows Defender and stuck with a third party solution. Good to see you go it up and running.
-
Exactly which build is your windows 10 For instance, mine is specifically 21H1 build 19043.1415 You have not said whether you have done the updates. Did the machine come with Windows 10 pre-installed or did you do the installation yourself from scratch. I have had Windows 10 since mid 2017, and I have never had these installation issues with any program at all on my Windows 10 PC. Something is definitely janky with that install.
-
That could be the ticket. I know that with Windows local networks, if the times on the connected PCs are off, relative to eachother, by a certain temporal amount, the P_Cs will not talk to each other.
-
I stopped using Bandlab Assistant ages ago... I this instead. One suggestion of you have not done this already. After starting your win 10 PC but before installing Cakewalk by Bandlab did you: Performed all Windows 10 updates? Update all of your hardware drivers (using manufacturer's websites rather than Windows updates)?
-
You cannot. A feature request is perhaps in order https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/forum/8-feedback-loop/
-
To do this requires you go into the Windows registry. This is risky if you’re not familiar with editing the registry. You answer indicates that you are not familiar with editing the registry at all. I therefore recommend that you get someone, who knows exactly what they are doing, to perform Scook’s recommended solution.

We are going to need much more information. (see my signature for some of what is required) Also, just to be clear, Are you talking about Cakewalk by Bandlab 2021.12 Build 103?

I use Patch Changes events to external devices (A Yamaha SW1000XG) all the time - no issues here. You might want to check the user guide for you foot pedal, (Page 10 and 11 I think). I suspect bank needs to be zero and the Patch numbers need to correspond to the numbers mentioned in the foot controller’s user guide Reading the manual, you would want to know which mode the foot controller is in: Classic Mode or Chord Mode as the Program Change numbers are different for each mode. Note: I do not own the Whammy 5 External Foot Pedal, but I am just going be the user guide. https://www.digitech.com/on/demandware.static/-/Sites-masterCatalog_Harman/default/dw18aa3ac1/pdfs/Whammy_OM_EN.pdf

Same here. I opened the file , moved the NOW pointer to where the MIDI bass notes start and I heard a bass sound coming from TTS. Took 5 seconds. As bdickens stated, we need more information.

Does the same issue happen with the latest Cakewalk by Bandlab?
