I have a PC configured as per my signature and I am not experiencing any crashes with this release of CbB. Can you list your detailed PC specs, what audio interface you are using , what driver mode. What sample rate, bit depth and buffer size you are using.

Maybe a firewall is blocking some access that the Product Portal needs....

Press N to disable snap to grid. I edit and create MIDI files all the time with CbB and it is very much better than any previous version of Sonar or Cakewalk

Unfortunately IKM Have not fixed the pitch bend range issue in all patches that use the ST4 engine. The actual bend range is double that of what you have dialled in. This also means you cannot achieve a bend range of an odd number of semi-tones. I am remaining on 4.16 until IKM resolves this.

There is still the issue of pitch bend ranges being double what is dialled in on any Syn2 synth (and on ST4.16 that loads any synth that uses the ST4 engine) This issue only manifests in Sampletank 4.17 and Syntronik 2.02 (which is why I bring it up here) Two months ago, I lodged a ticket with IK Support (with requests for progress update in between) and they have yet to address this. Until this is resolved, I am stuck on Syntronik 2.01 and Sampletank 4.16

Does the “hitting red” correspond with the instances of sputtering and drops outs? I would not like the performance to be “hitting red a lot”. Strictly as a test, try 48/24.

Try opening up the IK Product Manager and do a refresh. The way I have installed all of these is by downloading the zip files of the sound files manually, extract the files and run the exe files from the extracted files' destination folder. This works every time. No error messages when loading patches (in SYN2 or ST4) I trust the IK Product Manager to do the actual activation, but not the installation. I just created a folder and a bunch of tracks. The folder was below the tracks. I selected some of the tracks, right clicked on the first one and then moved to folder. Every time, the order was retained. I tried this with MIDI tracks and Audio tracks. There might be something going on at your end that is causing the reordering at your end. The Piano Roll View allows: For more granular editing (you are not limited to exact divisions of measures when placing notes). The editing of controller data - like pitch bend , expression, volume, pan, filters, etc. The only thing I use the Staff View for is to enter lyrics synced to notes.

Are there any MIDI tracks or Simple Instruments Tracks in your project that contain MIDI data therein? If not, that's your issue. If you do have MIDI tracks or Simple Instruments Tracks in your project that contain MIDI data, then it would be better to save it as MIDI file rather than export. That way, any tempo changes will be included in your saved MIDI file. I produce many MIDI files using Cakewalk by Bandlab, and this is how I do it.
