I am thinking that, if you’re doing dialogue, then RX Advanced might be the better choice.... if you can afford it.
-
I am still not convinced that RX10 Standard adds much if you already have RX9 Standard - not for the price they are asking anyway (even when it was $US79.00).

You better be joking!

Totally perplexed by Transpose while using midi keyboard.
Promidi replied to David Herron's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
It looks like those octave buttons on the VisionKey-1 only affects what is sounded internally on the keyboard itself. It looks like it does not effect the MIDI notes data that is actually transmitted. The way to tell definitively is to load some kind of MIDI monitor on to your PC (Like MIDI-OX) to see what the VisionKey-1 is actually transmitting and if that changes when you press the octave buttons. https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/how-do-i-install-and-use-midi-ox-for-windows/ -

What is the exact make and model of your MIDI Keyboard? I have a PCR-800 and this also has octave up and down buttons. When I press these buttons on the PCR-800, what it does is it changes the actual MIDI note numbers that the PCR-800 transmits. Normally middle C on, the PCR sends "note on" 60. When I press octave up, pressing middle C, the PCR sends "note on" 72 (60 + 12 semi tones). When I press octave down, pressing middle C, the PCR sends "note on" 48 (60 + 12 semi tones). So, the octave up/down button determines what the PCR actually sends. Cakewalk would interpret these MIDI events as notes. Pressing middle C with the octave down button pressed would send the same as if you physically pressed one octave down from middle C on the keyboard. I would assume that your keyboard would do the same. -
Are these step sequences by any chance?

Yes, PRV is the Piano Roll View. I have always been able to edit velocities in the PRV controller pane. You do have the Smart Tool or Move Tool enabled when you attempt to edit the velocities in the PRV controller pane, don’t you?

Sometimes it helps to briefly mention where one has tried to find the answer along with the question...... Even maybe mention the specific resource and adding....."but I just need help understanding this part.................."

Massive X works fine on my PC with CbB 2022.11 Build 21 Have you updated your graphic drivers. Check this even of you think you have the latest version (Maybe Windows updates borked them). Do this using manufacturer's websites rather than Windows updates.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.....

Your PC kicks more derrière than mine does (see sig) and I do not have the “sluggish response” issues you are having. I have had the NTK DAEMON running in the background while CbB is running and this has not caused “sluggish response” in CbB. Though I have configured my system to only start the NTK DAEMON service when Native Access 2 is running (and stop the service when I exit Native Access 2). As a test, what happens if you disable all audio devices except the Komplete Audio 6 (and use its native ASIO drivers)? I am assuming your Windows is fully patched, the VDIST runtimes are the latest and you are using the latest drivers for all of your hardware (Do this using manufacturer's websites rather than via Windows updates)

Do you have full permissions to the folder where SD3 stores it's data? I don’t use SD3 so I don’t know where that folder would be by default. (Maybe see if the Windows application event viewer tells you). Have you tried temporarily running Cakewalk as an administrator (just to see if you can open a project). If you can, then it looks like a Windows permission issue.

I am so glad I can literally hide threads on these forums.

and sample buffer size? Did you try real time export and/or turning off 64-bit Double Precision Engine (done in Preferences - Audio - Driver settings) I am assuming you have disabled the NVIDIA audio drivers (done in Device Manager > system devices > High Definition Audio Controller, right click, disable)

Have you tried enabling VST scan logs to see if those generated logs sheds any light? Enable these in Preferences - File - VST Settings and check the results here. %APPDATA%\Cakewalk\Logs\VstScan.log

If you are using TTS-1, Reverb can be added to a part with CC91 and Chorus can bee added to a part with CC93. Pan is controlled by CC10 with CC> 63 being centre. Of course, these can be added using the controller lanes in the Piano roll view. If using another synth, automation might be the way to go. Depending on the plugin, you could also use MIDI learn to map CCs to parameters in that synth that control Reverb and Chorus. Most synths have CC10 mapped to pan - but thos could also be mapped. If the synth does not contain inbuilt Reverb and Chorus, then you can use those specific effects in the track’s effect rack. Then you can have another MIDI track routed to those plugins. One thing to note with a synth’s built in reverb is that if you control the level of that synth, any built in reverb tails will also reduce in level. There would be occasions where a reverb might be better placed in the track’s effect rack. It depends on what you are after. There is no “right” way to do it. It's what ever gets you the result you are after. Others will be able to add to this...

What are your PC Specs? (see my signature for example). My PC is configured as per my signature and every export using CbB 2022.11 has been successful. I am assuming latest drivers, plugin versions and Windows fully patched. Also what sample rate, bit depth and buffer size are you using? have you tried larger buffer sizes? Have you tried real time export. Tried turning off 64-bit Double Precision Engine, seeing if that changes anything?

Can it be assumed that you have a OpengGL 2.0 compatible GPU and that the plugin is activated in your iLok account. Have you tried the VST2 version?

I use the Firefox addon, Stylus to change the look and feel of the entire entire forum as it appears on my PC. One change I have made is that I have placed the original poster (along with the title) of a given thread at the top. It remains at the top even when I scroll down.

This is how the export has always worked for me - it’s successful every time.. (I usually use the “Select nothing”) If I ever get a partial export, it’s because I inadvertently selected something before the export.

I temporarily configured my PCR-800 to transmit MIDI Clock (F8), and this did not result in the MIDI activity indicator lighting up. Only pressing keys or moving sliders on the PCR-800 did. For the OP, it looks like a faulty slider or knob on their MIDI Controller. Either use MIDI-OX, or you could record to a MIDI track and see what events are being transmitted by your controller. Then open up your MIDI controller software to see which knob or slider is configured to transmit those events.
