internet connection issue (seems like a sort of firewall-relating issue)
Promidi replied to Hyeonsoo Yoo's question in Q&A
I have never had issues installing any version of Cakewalk (and I am sure I am not the only one) There must be something going on with your PC that prevents the installation. If using WIFI, are you able to switch to an ethernet (fully wired from PC to router) connection? Please give us more information (error messages, version of Windows, your exact steps, etc) On a properly configured Windows 10 PC, with a stable internet connection, the download and installation of Cakewalk should go smoothly. -
How do you recover unsaved projects if you can
Promidi replied to Lil Mamacoom's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Your answer might be restore from your daily back up (you do have one, don’t you?). You might be able to use Windows explorer to go to where you saved your project and see of there are any versions of your project. Look for files with a ~ extension (something like ~2024-04-08-22-38-34-695). These might be present if you enabled versioning. Note This is a four year old thread. You might be better off starting a new thread. -
My default browser is Firefox BETA (currently 126 Beta 8 - Soon to be 9). My PC is online 24/7. I do not run any browser cookie clearing utilities. My browser disk cache is disabled. I do not have the Backstage Pass. I have only experienced an out of band activation from CbB request only once, ever.

You can have separate instances of Kontakt to assign different channels if you like. However, you do not need two instances of Kontakt to assign different MIDI channels. Kontakt is a multitimbral plugin. That means you can have a single instance of Kontakt loaded with multiple parts. Each part can be set to receive on a different MIDI channels. Have another look at my second screenshot. That is showing a single instance of Kontakt, but with two parts, each set to a different MIDI channel. One part has Alicia Keys piano set to receive on MIDI channel 1. The other part has 8DIO Anthology Ensemble set to receive on MIDI channel 2. Both MIDI tracks are routed to that single instance of Kontakt. Each MIDI track’s MIDI channels are set to channel 1 and 2 respectively.

Make sure the MIDI channel of the MIDI track matches the MIDI channel of the Kontakt part that you wish to send that MIDI data to.. Do not use Omni.

Load your midi file Instead of importing it. Did you route your MIDI tracks to Hollywood Opus Strings? This is set in the In/Out section of your MIDI track. See: http://legacy.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=0x2043F

All general midi instruments now sound like piano
Promidi replied to Mr Oliver Michael Bancroft's question in Q&A
If you are routing pure MIDI tracks to your Yamaha keyboard, either enter Patch Change MIDI events in your MIDI track (the first one being before any notes), or set your MIDI track’s Patch and Bank in order to access more sounds other than the default piano. It would help to know the model number of your keyboard. Maybe an instrument definition file (*.ins) might help. Your Yamaha keyboard might even support Yamaha XG. -
On all MIDI tracks and SITs, make sure their inputs are set to specific MIDI controllers and specific MIDI channels. On all VSTI plugins, make sure MIDI out is deselected.

In musical terms, "soon" is not a commonly used term. However, I can provide some possible interpretations: Subito: This Italian musical term means "soon" or "immediately." It's often used to indicate a sudden change in dynamics, tempo, or articulation. Presto: While not exactly meaning "soon," Presto is a tempo marking indicating a very fast pace. It might imply that something should happen quickly or soon. Imminent: This term is not directly used in music notation, but it describes an event that is about to happen or is impending. In a musical context, it could suggest that a particular section or event is approaching soon.

I have the other five, yet, sadly no discount. I think I will wait for a 50% off sale.

Sometimes Eventide Blackhole goes on sale for US$29.... (That's what I picked it up for when it was on sale)

Re-Activation needed after just 18 days ?
Promidi replied to TracingArcs's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I have only have this expectantly happen once, ever. Other than that one single instance, my CbB has never asked to re-activate. Looks like something might be deleting your browser cookies or something like that.... -
According to the Dubstation 2 user guide, "Version 2.0 cannot be directly substituted in existing projects and cannot read preset files created by previous versions."

Second button from the right at the bottom of the preference dialogue box. On a PC that meets minimum specifications for Cakewalk/Sonar, you can’t miss it. What is your screen resolution..?

Cakewalk Stays In Memory After Exit / Cannot Re-Launch
Promidi replied to Adam Grossman's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
If I ever get this issue, I just run a Cakewalk process killing batch file before starting Cakewalk. It's usually caused by a plugin. A little annoying, but easier (for me, anyway) -
Please enlighten us. What, pray tell, might you be referring to?

Add New Controller to PRV if CC is Not Listed in Value Menu
Promidi replied to Stephen Power's question in Q&A
.....Or you have configured Cakewalk to show.... -
Make sure you deactivate and hardware dependent software. Yes, I know Windows is software, but you don’t want to run the risk of software deactivating and not being able to reactivate (like software iLok stuff).

SampleTank 4 no longer works in latest Cake...
Promidi replied to Steve Patrick's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
My current project includes a single instance of Sampletank 4.23 with 3 parts. Loads every time. Are you using the latest version of Sampletank? -
Press G to go to specific time. Which volume sliders? MIDI tracks or audio. For Audio tracks, the slider should display decibels. For MIDI tracks, 0-127 has to be this because MIDI CC7 events are sent between 0 to 127. The actual resultant level depends on the synth being used.

The only browser screen that you can activate Cakewalk by Bandlab with, is the one that is a result of clicking Cakewalk Help > Sign in to Bandlab. Simply already being signed in is not enough. Also, if by “the Bandlab app”, you mean Bandlab Assistant, that has not handled anything to do with Cakewalk for a while now. It is assumed you are using Cakewalk by Bandlab 2024.02 Build 98. As of April 17 2024, no other version of Cakewalk by Bandlab activate.

Been a while, so-Is it worth going to Win 11 Pro?
Promidi replied to Pathfinder's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
That would answer it for me - even if My PC could update to it. Maybe some time in 2025 I would think about it.
