ProChannel FX automations not exporting or mixing down
Jonathan Sasor replied to winkpain's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
@winkpain I can see what you mean in your project. Looks like SONAR Platinum behaves the same, so this isn't a recent thing, but we'll investigate. Weirdly enough, I was testing with the Concrete Limiter, if I add that with an envelope for the threshold to the track, that still renders correctly even though the other modules don't. -

Is it specific to any particular module(s)? Also if you try a simple test automating something in a new project, does that render normally? -

Is it possible you're missing something in the export/bounce options? When I try it on my end, the automation renders correctly when doing a bounce or export. Maybe post a screenshot of the Export Audio dialog? -

There's a rollback to 2020.09 in the original post in this thread. The CC drawing crash is already fixed and will be in the release version. -

[CLOSED] Cakewalk 2020.10 Early Access

There's a global VST install path that gets set by any previous Cakewalk/SONAR installer, and now it's getting inherited with the current install. This is set by a key in the Windows Registry. You can change this, but you might want to make a backup of your Registry by going to File | Export in the Registry Editor if you're not familiar with making changes there. To open the registry editor, hold the "Windows key" and press "r" to bring up the Run prompt. Type: regedit and click OK. Then navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\VSTPlugins. Select the VST Plugins folder. In the right-hand pane you'll see InstallDirectory. Double-click this and put in your desired path. -
yeah, i'd update the driver as @scook suggested. Can you record a clean signal if you bypass the external mic pre and go straight into the Focusrite? Also you could try hitting the "reset config to defaults" button on the Configuration File tab of the Preferences in the odd case your audio initialization file has become corrupted. @Noel Borthwick did a lot of work with Focusrite when implementing ASIO improvements.

Holding CTRL will temporarily disable docking while dragging windows.

Since SONAR Platinum, SONAR/Cakewalk by BandLab hasn't really hung its hat on the version number releases. As mentioned, we push updates on a regular basis gradually making changes to the app rather than having a big release with a patch or two per year. Cakewalk is still in active development, so there's always more in the pipeline. Nowadays the application version number simply changes with the year, so starting in 2021 it'll hit 27.xx.x.xxx.

It sounds like you may need to configure your audio card for Cakewalk. This can be done in the Preferences. If you're using an integrated audio card that came with your computer, you should set this to WASAPI Shared or MME. If you're using a dedicated audio interface, that would work better in the ASIO driver mode.

Please, please fix AudioSnap! ... I am desperate!
Jonathan Sasor replied to marcL's topic in Feedback Loop
@marled Can you send us a copy of your project to look at? A lot of AudioSnap stuff is very material-dependent, so if we had a concrete example where you're seeing your project go wrong, that'd be very helpful. Thanks! -
I'm currently not able to reproduce this issue. Can you upload a project where you're seeing this happen?
-
Can you elaborate on this? Are the track/clip states changing? Is the change only audible in the render?
-
Try inserting one of the Studio Instruments VSTi's that come with Cakewalk, those should expose the Enable MIDI output option.
-
It's not applicable for all synths, so it's grayed out in those cases.

AFTER NEW UPDATE CbB DONT INICIALIZE!!
Jonathan Sasor replied to Guillermo Diaz's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
@Guillermo Diaz Can you get us a dump file for when it's stuck on the splash page? You can find details on how to do that here: -
That's simply talking about the images for your audio. What you see in your clips are the "wave pictures" that the app draws, then it caches then so it doesn't have to redraw when it doesn't need to.
-
Based on your description, this sounds like a different plugin crash issue. Is it a particular plugin that you're using when you see this crash?
-
Are you getting an error opening from BandLab Assistant? What happens if you try to open the app directly from either the shortcut in Programs in Windows or by running the Cakewalk.exe file in C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core?
-
Can you provide a screen shot/video of what you're seeing? Ctrl+clicking the envelope should grab that segment of the envelope between the nodes. Also try just creating an envelope in a new project and see if it behaves the way you're expecting. On my end it's working per the docs. There hasn't been any changes to that part of the app recently, so it'd be very odd if the update changed that on your system.
-
Where exactly are you getting stuck? If the app is stuck at the splash screen (the Cakewalk image that pops up when you first launch), then usually it's an audio driver that's preventing the app from being able to open. You might need to disconnect your device temporarily or change the driver mode externally for the app to launch. The update does not have any changes that should impact that.
-
The installer just prompts that it cannot continue if the app is running, and allows you to hit "Retry" after closing the app to continue the process.
